Oh how I love the twc videos it still amazes me how a little car meant for disabled people could cover so many miles keep them twc video coming I just love them
TWC is a little trooper. Does brilliantly considering she was designed to pop to the shops a couple of times a week 😁. We look forward to the next adventure 👍
I used to see these wee motors everywhere when I was a kid! I suppose that was inevitable, as I lived near the Benfleet factory, where they were made!! My eldest (late) brother, Colin, even worked there for a couple of years, in the late 60's!
I'm surprised you managed to be so restrained with a whole empty hall of the NEC at your disposal. I was expecting to see some TWC indoor hooning. The TWC adventures definitely remind me of taking a Twizy on a dual carriageway, although it had no doors! On the Multipla I still think - Stick her in a museum with some info about her and lots of Hubnut plugs about her person - Fill her place on the fleet with a Skoda Roomster. Lovely to meet you, TWC and Giselle properly at the weekend and thanks for reminding me to actually take my purchases with me. Got a bit starstruck!
Roads in every country fix it brand new. Then dig up months later to put pipe under the suface or something else. Good trip TWK again she makes me smile 😃
When you were overtaking that blue truck, for some reason a line from one of the many 'Thomas the Tank Engine' books I used to read to my son as a child, came to mind. I can't remember which of the books it was, nor can I remember which engines said it but it went, "You can do it, you can do it.". Little TWC has the heart of a lion!
That's awesome Ian. Modern vehicles take all the fun of an adventure away! It reminds me when I used to have a moped at 16. Every trip was an adventure and you could feel the environment around you. A trip from Kendal to my Grandparents in Manchester was exactly the same. Dangerous but so much fun! Definitely a sense of achievement and distance in getting there. 🙂
Inspirational stuff. I'm living my adventures vicariously through you just now Ian. Enjoyed your weekend from the comfort of my home. Twc is an amazing vehicle, no wonder you get tooted at on the motorway.
Lol that container wagon overtake was hilarious! 😨😆😆😆 "The Dilithium crystals can't take anymore!" Indeed. The headlights are like my eyes after several pints of Thatcher's!😵😆
Glad to see the transmission held out for you. There's no rush for the next video as you deserve a rest after your 'flat-out' week at NEC. Take it easy mate.
Just read an article on a site called 'rusty old rubbish' featuring twc. I remember years ago invalid carriages were once banned from motorways. Having read the article, it clarified that particular class was abolished in 2003 and the vehicles are classed as tricycles. Sorry if you have already mentioned this, but I've learned something new today.
Was great to finally see you on Saturday. Picked up a calendar and a pin badge. It was a shame I couldn't of spent longer talking, mainly a quick stop as we were only there the day and there was too much to see. Hope to see you, Matt & Steph next year
It has to be a treat for others to see TWC going down the road, especially for children and those who don't know what she is. It looked a little scary when you passed that lorry Go TWC!
I see your observations on a daily basis being an HGV driver; cars overtaking and then slowing down, people's poor lane discipline, driving in poor conditions with just daytime running lights on. It really is so frustrating. I've actually gotten out of the lorry on a few occasions, say when in London stopped at traffic lights to tell people that they have no lights on.
TWC is all heart. What a fantastic little engine the Steyr Puch is. I think your oil may be emerging from the base of a pushrod tube seal as the rocker cover gasket should be pretty easy to get oil-tight, and there is not that much oil inside.
...and there you go. Absolutely tremendous. In essence, did exactly the same job as any £100,000 + supercar would have done. A to B, but much more of an adventure. Love it. Well done you, well done the little blue beaut'.
Nearly 50 years old, designed to drive in to the nearest town to carry shopping But NO!!, The old girl knocks off around 300 miles and sounded like she wanted more. I guess you didn't, but thanks for the footage and more so, your bravery in bringing her to the NEC so we could all see the little legend 👍👍
Remember seeing an invacar often just down the road where I used to live as there were some custom-built bungalows for disabled people...I could do with one now as I've become disabled myself! Ive got an Acadiane now, which fits the bill as I still have enough use of my legs & feet at present to operate a vehicle with a manual gearbox..Read a review on invacars recently & learned theyre can go amazingly quick for what they are!
I have a friend with limited leg use who owns several A Series Citroens. He has hand controls to enable him to drive them. Not sure who makes them though but may be able to find out if it comes to it.
I always carry and use cash. I find it easier to keep a track of my spending, and cash always works. Readers may be interested to know there's currently someone driving a Peel P50 from John O'Groats to Lands End. How did the GS get up and back?
Great STUFF 'remember Invacar Well Know route, residing in Shrewsbury atm ,Welsh Rally yrs ago appeared Rossi in Rally Focus & Evans Welsh Winner as myself being my all time faves Cymru am Byth.. Still have my Red GPz Rx 1000 under blankets Bought from Devils Bridge on route to Aberystwyth..lol to you & all close..
Great to see you wearing the same T I purchased my dear Wife Sharon ages ago. So pleased the show went well for you and it sounds like you had a great time. I was dying to see Tuc on a Motorway and bless her didn’t see do so well? I’m a child of the very late 1950s and I recall the InvaCar and a motorway signage that back then banned them from Motorways. I’m also sure I had a primary School teacher who I think was in a wheelchair and actually Parked theirs in the School car park. I’d always wondered why they only ever came in Blue! Looking at that classic old speedo and various gauges reminded me of a time when all cars had very few instruments. You were relying on speedo, indicator warning light, maybe handbrake warning light and switches were big clunky rocker things. I hope to take our young niece out in the old Peugeot 207 she brought from us to learn to drive. As I said she took the Hub Nut sticker off but it will be nice to supervise her as a learner maybe this weekend. I have purchased what when I was a Driving Instructor we called an ‘instructor mirror’. Those new Mirrors on TUC must make you feel much safer. I love your appreciation of the everyday things! Almost the mundane, the unexceptional and I guess the quirky. Sharon had a 2 CV and still loves those cars. She often says she would rather have one of them than some modern, top of the range, all singing and dancing box with a wheel on each corner. I really really do get that point. Nothing seems to stand out on the roads now. Over the years it’s all become bland, devoid of fun and almost soulless. It’s a fantasy I know but cars I love have personalities. You can invest in them and they pay you back. You feel just good when you drive them and that kind of car, even now, makes driving a pleasure. Oh and the Fiat…First Wife and I used to call them the Fiat ‘Milupa’ after a Baby food on the Market when our two Sons were babies. Now in all honesty I actually LIKED them BECAUSE they were so ugly! I liked them because they were just different. They stood out and from what I could tell they/made a great family car (we had a citron Berlingo when the boys were small. It was as aerodynamic as a brick, the boys said never drop them off at School in it, they cringed when they saw it coming but it took us and our family stuff everywhere. We even used it like a van to take building rubble to the tip. However cost wise I’d say don’t spend more time and money on the Fiat. My Wife is a NORWICH supporter if you want shot of that rear decal! (Oh and my first Wife was a tiny Lady. No bigger than Mrs Hub Nut. When she was pregnant I thought she looked like a ‘weeble’. I still recall being happy but hey, sometimes things change and we all move on.)
Shame about the health and safety restrictions as I would love to see one of these runs with Miss Hubnut and the Hublets on board TWC. A mixture of deafening noise, cramped discomfort and absolute terror as the little motor gets blown about on the motorway. Now that WOULD be funny (for us, not the passengers).
The Steyr Puch version was said to be capable of over 80mph, I always thought that would be pretty dangerous to attempt, having been flat out in a Reliant Kitten at about 85, that was pretty terrifying.
Fair play there was some helmsman driving of TWC there, a few times I thought he's coming in a bit hot there!! I realise having watched some in car footage of me driving normally and it always looks as bit lairy 😁
British motorways in an Invacar. Evel Knievel eat your heart out!
I grew up in an era when you'd see Invacars everywhere - even on the track at the football. Your love for that little car makes me smile.
Oh how I love the twc videos it still amazes me how a little car meant for disabled people could cover so many miles keep them twc video coming I just love them
I was behind you at J9 on the M42. I was amazed at how fast the little car took off
Good old TWC.scary on the motorway .All the best to all at Hub Nut.
TWC is a little trooper. Does brilliantly considering she was designed to pop to the shops a couple of times a week 😁.
We look forward to the next adventure 👍
Glad to see you both home safe & sound, 60mph looked like 120mph scary. 😱
I just love these videos - longer trips in the quirky old cars.
Well done TWC that engine sounds like a mini jet engine on that journey enjoyed the show thanks Ian !
I used to see these wee motors everywhere when I was a kid!
I suppose that was inevitable, as I lived near the Benfleet factory, where they were made!!
My eldest (late) brother, Colin, even worked there for a couple of years, in the late 60's!
I love when you do long drives in TWC.
It must be time for another one!
Good job to TWC! She would've loved that long drive for sure, very impressed that it can do motorway speeds
Unfortunately I haven't watched any of your videos for a while! But it's great to see little TWC in action again. Many thanks.
I thought this was the definition of bravery: “courageous behaviour or character.” You just redefined it!! Hats off to you!!!
Good to see old cars out in all weathers, the motorway looked pretty scary mind
She was absolutely flying, amazing little car.
I'm surprised you managed to be so restrained with a whole empty hall of the NEC at your disposal. I was expecting to see some TWC indoor hooning.
The TWC adventures definitely remind me of taking a Twizy on a dual carriageway, although it had no doors!

Lovely to meet you, TWC and Giselle properly at the weekend and thanks for reminding me to actually take my purchases with me. Got a bit starstruck!
Had a car once that gave me no end of trouble and I said it would make a great boat anchor. Multipla boat anchor……🤔. Starstruck…funny.
Magnificent drive back home, the tiny but mighty TWC 'bombing' down the road towards HubNut HQ with her enthusiastic and alert driver, thank you :)
When you go for top speed and it starts shaking I get flash backs to Donald Campbell on Lake Coniston 🙈👍
Twc prooves " it ain't what you do it's the way that you do it!"
Peace and love brother 👍🏻☮♥️
It's amazing how smooth sounding the drivetrain is in Twc, even if it is noisy. It hums along nicely on the main roads.
I'm like that too. I tend to see beauty in function, pick the runt of the litter, and usually end up with the best.
What an accomplishment and achievement to make a round trip of this length in this car. A combination of Luck, Bravery and Skill 👍👍
Accolades for TWC! She never ceases to amaze.
TWC a wonderful, she did really well. Glad you took her to the show.
Roads in every country fix it brand new. Then dig up months later to put pipe under the suface or something else. Good trip TWK again she makes me smile 😃

I watched all of your showing the carshow showcars what a marvelous show it was, thanks so much!
Loved the in ininvacar footage on the road home , you were ringing it's neck 😃
That's awesome Ian. Modern vehicles take all the fun of an adventure away! It reminds me when I used to have a moped at 16. Every trip was an adventure and you could feel the environment around you. If they made a TWC motorway video game I'd buy it immediately!!
YES! Ian, time to diversify!
Super video, Ian. Thanks very much. Great to see you and TWC out and about.
Brilliant, well done. My favourite of the fleet, and what a journey.
On the west side of the pond they can only pave dry roads. The hot asphalt doesn't stick too well to the lower layers when it is wet.
RAC rally next week weekend. At Welshpool on Sunday. Full of old historic rally cars
Brilliant little car, enjoy watching its adventures.
The Mk1 Multipla is already an established classic. Odd, fun, quirky and brilliant.
Good to see you back safe and sound, I recognised the route past Newtown, from many years ago.
Man, I am soooo envious of your lovely roads. Our roads here are so bad they make me cry. And my bum too.
A very enjoyable video really enjoy on the onboard footage in little Tuc well done 👍
Lol that container wagon overtake was hilarious! 😨😆😆😆 "The Dilithium crystals can't take anymore!" Indeed. The headlights are like my eyes after several pints of Thatcher's!😵😆
Well done little TWC and well done Ian for making the trip 👌

I was surprised they are motorway legal. One thing they'll never be is rusty.
Not only is TWC in there, but TPA as well! I wonder who has REV?
REV belongs to a young lad in London who is fast becoming the go-to resource for all matters Invacar.
You can't better a flat twin at speed - Michelin X's are the icing on the cake 😊
Brilliant videos of show and Tucs journey
I never realised how much I'd love to watch Hub Nut doing a play of Euro Truck Simulator.
I'd have put money on Ian driving a [dreaded] Renault, not a Scania! 😁 (Long-standing Squirrel meme, btw).
Was great to finally see you on Saturday. Picked up a calendar and a pin badge. It was a shame I couldn't of spent longer talking, mainly a quick stop as we were only there the day and there was too much to see. Hope to see you, Matt & Steph next year
Well done twc I’ve really enjoyed following your adventures bet you are glad to be home
Aww plucky little TWC - well done!
The adventures of TWC are so fun.
Loved the drive, glad to be able to catch one of your videos again Ian 😃
It was a delight to sit in TWC for a moment, and better appreciate your nerve.
It has to be a treat for others to see TWC going down the road, especially for children and those who don't know what she is. It looked a little scary when you passed that lorry Go TWC!
Really miss the NEC. I was an exhibitor for the good home show in 2006.
I think a lot of people rely on automatic headlights these days so permanently disengage the bit of their brain dedicated to thinking about them.
You are a brave man Ian! I would be scared to drive that contraption round my back yard let alone on a motorway lol 😆
TWC is all heart. What a fantastic little engine the Steyr Puch is. I think your oil may be emerging from the base of a pushrod tube seal as the rocker cover gasket should be pretty easy to get oil-tight, and there is not that much oil inside.
Check the fuel and fill it up with oil. 😀
Well done little Twc happy that u are home safe aswell
Great video, thanks Ian! i really like the forward facing camera, makes me feel like im driving!
...and there you go. Absolutely tremendous. In essence, did exactly the same job as any £100,000 + supercar would have done. A to B, but much more of an adventure. Love it. Well done you, well done the little blue beaut'.
Well done to TWC & to Ian as well, the motorway stretch was a bit scary with the 40 ton artics passing either side!
Bless TWC, it will have done the engine some good that I reckon. Enjoyed that Ian. Thanks
Nearly 50 years old, designed to drive in to the nearest town to carry shopping
But NO!!, The old girl knocks off around 300 miles and sounded like she wanted more.
I guess you didn't, but thanks for the footage and more so, your bravery in bringing her to the NEC so we could all see the little legend 👍👍
Another great video has always Ian and miss hubnut and hublets and hubmutts
Well done looks pretty quick !
I love the noise of the clutch
Great video! Glad you got home safely.
Wales is sooo picturesque... would love to go back!
Such a great noise! Really enjoyed the trip, thanks for taking us along 👌
Love your slight bashfulness about the Multipla.
Well done little TWC.
The M54!
The first motorway constructed using concrete slabs...... enjoy the road noise and vibration.
Marvelous, bavo Ian and Tuk!

A job well done by you and TWC. Overtaking that lorry at 60mph at the start was truly scary!
I always carry and use cash. I find it easier to keep a track of my spending, and cash always works.
Readers may be interested to know there's currently someone driving a Peel P50 from John O'Groats to Lands End.
How did the GS get up and back?
GSA is still in The Midlands, as you'll see in a future video. Just visited her in fact!
Thanks for the top tip on the 60 mph speed limit on sections of the Newtown by pass: will keep it in mind when am out and about, ta.
A deserving well done to that Invacar man .
I imagine it must be a somewhat unique experience doing 60 MPH in that amazing car. Thanks for sharing . makes me laugh all the time.
Glad you are home safely.
We used to call these vehicles Bubble Car Estates when I was a kid!
Always love the journeys in TWC, especially right at the limit 😁
That headlight alignment is just shocking!
Great STUFF 'remember

Awesome headlight beam pattern when you back away from the wall, one up one down! TWC must be winking!
@@Pete1965 could well be that, but it was sooo TWK to be a bit wonky ñ
I’m fairly local to the NEC and did once get to drive through a hall ( in a Nissan Almera ) and it’s a bit weIrd but oddly satisfying.
I'd never noticed the Invacar badge before. Reminds me a lot of the Aston Martin badge 😃
Another excellent Adventure, TWC done you proud. Wonders what her next adventure will be??
Shame about the health and safety restrictions as I would love to see one of these runs with Miss Hubnut and the Hublets on board TWC. A mixture of deafening noise, cramped discomfort and absolute terror as the little motor gets blown about on the motorway. Now that WOULD be funny (for us, not the passengers).
No room for another seat, and the central driving position rules out merely having a second seat alongside.
Who was it that said "you should do something that scares you every day"? Oh yeah, that great man HubNut.
Who would have believed that we were to be treated to a great ride in TWC the Invacar heading back home to Wales. What a great ride.
Invacar Wicked Legend another great video
Well done TWC. ( we met at the show). I'm glad I wasn't the pilot
The reliability of tuc is amazing you should really pay more attention to her which she deserves
The washing machine looks rather interesting.
Great adventure, thanks for sharing. Croeso 'nol.
Have you not seen Ian's other channel WashingMachineNut? 😄
The Steyr Puch version was said to be capable of over 80mph, I always thought that would be pretty dangerous to attempt, having been flat out in a Reliant Kitten at about 85, that was pretty terrifying.
Used to do the Newcastle, Halesowen, Penarth trip regularly occasionally as a return trip. Beautiful scenery especially around Ross on wye.
Fair play there was some helmsman driving of TWC there, a few times I thought he's coming in a bit hot there!!
I realise having watched some in car footage of me driving normally and it always looks as bit lairy 😁
