The voltage-current plot of a device reveals important information about its response. In this three part video series, we examine the voltage-current plots for resistors, capacitors, and inductors of various values at different frequencies. Part 3: Inductors.
In closing, here's an interesting question: What would the XY plots look like for the inductor (and capacitor) if you plotted them with a non-sinusoidal input (like a triangle wave)? Would you still get a circle? Try it and see.
