To be fair, the whole "names are power" thing was established LOOOOONG before Ichibei. The earliest example I can think of (which I think is actually the first) is knowing the name of an attack. During Ichigo's battle against Byakuya, it's explained that Ichigo knowing his attack's name is "Getsuga Tenshou" vastly increases its power.
I think this concept was adresed even earlier, at the end of Substitution arc when Renji reveled that Zanpakuto has a name and calling it by that name can give your katana literal superpowers
I think you could argue that there was some precedence for the whole naming thing before the final arc of bleach. Remember yumichika was able to call out a false name for his zanpakuto in order to hide it's true abilities.
And the whole thing of having to know the name of your sword to use shikai. Calling it out by its name making it more powerful. Ichigo knowing the name of Getsuga Tensho making it more powerful, ...
Kenpachi trusts Yachiru so much and so instinctively that even when he's a rampaging berserker rage monster incapable of rational thought and seeking only destruction and battle, he follows her directions without hesitation. Even when his mind is totally lost to bloodlust and power, he listens to her guidance absolutely and instinctively. On his deepest level, he trusts his daughter. There's something really sweet about that.

The Translation was wrong. Grown Woman Noazarashi is the Shikai (Kenoachi didn’t recognise the voice of Shikai Nozarashi) Yachiru is the Bankai (Gives directions to Kenny in Bankai)
The translation was right, because that is EXACTLY what I understood from it xd . I dunno why Tekking said Yachiru was the Shikai when it literally says in the text BANKAI
There might be a mistake in translation of Kubo's answer, because, if I'm not mistaken, he said that Nozarashi is an adult woman(Shikai) and Yachiru is Bankai, because Nozarashi talked to Zaraki in muken, while Yachiru was still in 11-th squad barracks

She probably has the child appearance because that's when he started subconsciously holding himself back to enjoy fights. Considering how bad Kenpachi was at suppressing his power, it _had_ to go somewhere, it didn't just disappear. Taking what Renji said about bankai, how the spirit can only be seen when the wielder is ready to learn bankai, helps support this even further. She could also be a representation of the fact that he doesn't like to do put much thought into things (other than fighting); being simple-minded and barbaric, especially when you consider the fact that she's the one "navigating" for him in the series and while he's in his bankai. Kenpachi, however, always held back, so Yachiru was just doing what he wanted, thus limiting his and Nozarashi's power when necessary, resulting in him not only not knowing Nozarashi's name, but limiting their connection, hence why any time he got "directions" from Yachiru, they always got lost.
tekking just one thing. You said that the grown women represents the bankai and yachiru represents the shikai. It´s actually the other way around case and point when the blade was telling Kenpachi it´s name after he killed Unohana, Kenpachi didn´t recogsined it´s voice but when he went into bankai it was Yachiru that gave it to him. This also makes sense cause it´s the same way with Ichigo, the younger version represents the bankai while the grown one is the shikai.

Something I noticed in the Flashback of when Kenpachi first met Yachiru in the Anime. Unlike the others there, she was more colorful I suppose, like she was slightly glowing. Not sure that was intended but now that we know what she is, it kinda makes sense.

The same happened to Renji. His zanapakuto didn't like him, so it gave him a wrong name. Hell, the power of zanapakuto and kido in general invilves calling their names out loud. So it makes perfect sense that Kenpachi gave Yachiru her name and by extension her powers and identity. Also, remember how Kenpachi has a terrible sense of direction so Yachiru is always on his shoulder guiding him? Kinda an interesting paralel with his bankai.

Names equal power also goes along with the whole European aspect to the quincies if you think about the fae folk and how if you /give/ someone your name that means they have power over you. A fae would ask "may I have your name?" Like how you would ask "may I have your sandwich" in that they want it for themselves so the aspect of names is that old of a concept so Kenpachi /giving/ Yachiru a name also ties into that

I imagine if Yachiru if she was suppose to be the spirit and her appearance is of an older women, than I think her appearance would reflect what Kenpachi’s Banki was all about which has elements of Oni and Hannya elements. So maybe this older Yachiru would basically be a giant oni looking girl that has those berserker rage moments and go on a cutting spree. Be an interesting way to reimagine the little pink hair girl that looks all innocent and look like she grew up as a murderer.

Coyote Starrk and Lilynette Gingerbuck, They are one person, yet seem to be to different people, as Lilynette is a sealed part of Starrk's power. Would it be possible for Kenpachi to reform Yachiru from his power again, much like Starrk could.
To be fair in most cultures the concept of name is sacred, often to the point where cultures develop two types of names: Everyday name and True name. And true name usually hold some kind of power within it. In many cultures if you wanted to cast curse on someone, you needed true name. Also, often change of the name means fresh start, new beginning and change of nature. Alternatively, forsaking the name means getting rid of old self. Also also, I've always seen Ichibei's power more of a power to give properities rather than just name stuff. It's not as much as "I'll name this magical sword a Zanpakuto" rather than "This thing shall from now on be Zanpakuto, which meant it is magical sword that does shit when you use it".
What if a Zanpakuto spirit begins aging from when you first have it, and matures into a shikai - then continues maturing until it splits off forming a younger spirit as a bankai. There will naturally always be an age gap between the two. This is not something that happens when you unlock bankai, it is something that simply happens as the spirit matures. This explains why I think that Yachiru is Kennt’s bankai, and the older woman is actually his shikai. This explains why Shunsui explains how he got intimate with the older spirit first (shikai) before the younger of the two spirits. This explains why Tensa Zangetsu is younger than Zangetsu.
I just realized when you mentioned it but if Shunsui was in a romantic relationship with his zanpakuto spirit. And zanpakuto spirits are just reflections of your own soul.. does that technically make that relationship self-cest or not?
Let me give my 2 Cents: I believe Kubo let us know exactly what Yachiru is, already. Yumichika, Renji, and Ichigo all had zanpakuto who's names were hidden on purpose or without their knowledge. Because of this, it causes the zanpakuto to look TOTALLY different, weakens it's power, and even have different abilities. And, I believe Yachiru is just that. I think Yachiru was pointing out Zaraki's blade as herself when they met, as he was asking who she was and where she came from. BUT, unlike those three before, Zaraki didn't choose to disrespect her by calling her another name and it neither disrespected him by giving him a false name. He literally adopted her on the spot and even gave her the name of the person he respected more than anyone, thus acknowledging himself as his own Zanpakuto's protector. He doesn't see them as equals, he places her on a pedestal. In doing so, she manifested into a "Beast Type" zanpakuto that was cut off from it's true asuachi and thus weakened. We saw in the Zanpakuto arc that the spirits are also able to use shinigami techniques, and I don't think it was a coincidence that they tended to put Mayuri and Zaraki around each other so much. Furthermore, Yachiru even has a Zanpakuto who's ability is to manifest TWO BEASTS. One could represent her and the other could represent the Grown Woman of Zaraki's zanpakuto, while she stands in place of Kenpachi. So, in essence, Kubo could have gave us the clue to this when she revealed her shikai.
This actually makes sense! This explanation allows for her to be cut off from who she really is and still allows the rules of the story, that they already established, hold firm! Wow!! Kenny walked in into the Soul Society with a Bankai Zanpakuto Spirit that’s completely autonomous and separate from him and one shot his way into being a Captain and his zanpakuto as his Vice Captain. I can’t imagine how Unohana must’ve felt that day!!!
the reason why yyachiru zampakutou looks like that is because it shares thematic. zarakis zamapkutou is based on oni and yokai same as yachiru who literally manifests two yokai like creatures. also i dont think yachiru is separated from the adult woman, they are both in the same, kubo himself describes her as part of the main body, and zaraki seems preety confident at the end of the series that she is gone.
Let's not forget that Nimaiya implied that all of this crazy stuff happens because Shinigami lose focus of the fact that the sword is just a sword. Or rather that there is nothing in a zanpakuto, that didn't come from the shinigami using it.

The manga states that Kenpachi's shikai is a grown womans voice, so Yachiru would be the bankai version if we follow Ichigos manifestations of Zanpacuto, right? Plus Yachiru unlocks his ability to wield bankai, so that also fits.
Actually it doesn't: ichigo did not know how zangetsu looked in bankai, because he was in shikai while training for it. That means the old man taught him how to do it. Kenpachi also was in shikai while nozarashi talked to him and taught him, so yachiru doesn't seem to be (a part of) the bankai version.
Translations are fickle things, but the Zangetsu - Tensa Zangetsu metaphor implies that, yeah. I think Nozarashi is the shikai spirit. It'd be weird for the Bankai spirit to talk to a person and give them their shikai name. I think it's interesting that Kenpachi gave Yachiru the name of a heartless murderous psychopath, and the Bankai that Yachiru gives him turns him into a rampaging murderous psychopath. I think because Yachiru accepts the name Kenpachi gave her, in a way he named his own Bankai. The name of Kenpachi's bankai is Yachiru.
If you guys watch the early episode where kenpachi meet ichigo. You'll notice: Ichigo cant seem to recognize yachiru as normal shinigami. Zangetsu telling Ichigo that Zaraki cant hear his sword speaking to him. I dont know if the language translation mistake but if its correct, Kubo is actually already giving a hint of Kenpachi Zanpakuto on the early episod. 😁
I love the video, I literally love all your videos but if you think about it too it’s the dynamic of Kenpachi. Fighting was really his soft side but he’s like the hardest dude in the series. His innocence as Yachiru and his love as Nozarashi was fighting. It’s like Hisoka to a physical or spiritual extent. Lol

Yachiru is the Bankai manifestation. Tekking got confused right there. Even the text says Yachiru is the bankai, the adult woman (who probably looks like Unohana with pink hair LOL) is the shikai (the voice that hears from his zampakuto right after killing Unohana, and the reason he wasnt able to recognize "her" voice). And that is why Yachiru was the one who "activated" Kenpachi's bankai. Mature woman = Nozarashi Shikai Yachiru = Nozarashi Bankai.
When I think about it, it makes me remember the first time we see yachiru in bleach, when ichigo fought against kenpachi. Can we now truly say kenpachi's blade didn't trust him as zangestu implied or was it just because he didn't know the name of the zanpaktou? Also can this also mean that the powers of the old lady nozarashi is different from the powers of the little lady nozarashi something like while the older one produces an overall immeasurable power, the younger one maintains and amplifies this power to suit kenpachi's body strength at the moment or do both of them possess just one huge appetite for cutting impossible things? Finally does yachiru also grant kenpachi the powers of her copy slashes when she joins up with him? This is definitely interesting though, I'm loving it.
when urahara is teaching ichigo about his Getsuga Tenshō he tells him knowing the name and saying it makes it 100 times stronger. or something like that
Can't any shinigami manifest their zanpakuto spirit? In fact, wasn't that part of the usual bankai training, as shown by Renji in the Soul Society arc. If so, maybe "Yachiru" could still see her friends every once in a while.
My theory on the organization of the Soul Society is that all new arrivals start out beyond district 80, each in a kind of afterlife that gives them what they need to be content. But the longer you stay in bliss the more your soul yearns for, so you start to migrate to the center where you can experience more. Eventually ending up at the academy because duty is what give you purpose in the eternity of the afterlife.
So because a part of the zanpakuto's spirit is being materialized outside the inner world in Bankai and Shikai, it affects the form the zanpakuto spirit takes at that moment in that shinigami's inner world or elsewhere.

What if a Zanpakuto spirit begins aging from when you first have it, and matures into a shikai - then continues maturing until it splits off forming a younger spirit as a bankai. There will naturally always be an age gap between the two. This is not something that happens when you unlock bankai, it is something that simply happens as the spirit matures. This explains why I think that Yachiru is Kennt’s bankai, and the older woman is actually his shikai. This explains why Shunsui explains how he got intimate with the older spirit first (shikai) before the younger of the two spirits. This explains why Tensa Zangetsu is younger than Zangetsu.

Let me give my 2 Cents:
I believe Kubo let us know exactly what Yachiru is, already. Yumichika, Renji, and Ichigo all had zanpakuto who's names were hidden on purpose or without their knowledge. Because of this, it causes the zanpakuto to look TOTALLY different, weakens it's power, and even have different abilities. And, I believe Yachiru is just that. I think Yachiru was pointing out Zaraki's blade as herself when they met, as he was asking who she was and where she came from. BUT, unlike those three before, Zaraki didn't choose to disrespect her by calling her another name and it neither disrespected him by giving him a false name. He literally adopted her on the spot and even gave her the name of the person he respected more than anyone, thus acknowledging himself as his own Zanpakuto's protector. He doesn't see them as equals, he places her on a pedestal. In doing so, she manifested into a "Beast Type" zanpakuto that was cut off from it's true asuachi and thus weakened.
We saw in the Zanpakuto arc that the spirits are also able to use shinigami techniques, and I don't think it was a coincidence that they tended to put Mayuri and Zaraki around each other so much. Furthermore, Yachiru even has a Zanpakuto who's ability is to manifest TWO BEASTS. One could represent her and the other could represent the Grown Woman of Zaraki's zanpakuto, while she stands in place of Kenpachi. So, in essence, Kubo could have gave us the clue to this when she revealed her shikai.
This actually makes sense! This explanation allows for her to be cut off from who she really is and still allows the rules of the story, that they already established, hold firm! Wow!! Kenny walked in into the Soul Society with a Bankai Zanpakuto Spirit that’s completely autonomous and separate from him and one shot his way into being a Captain and his zanpakuto as his Vice Captain. I can’t imagine how Unohana must’ve felt that day!!!
the reason why yyachiru zampakutou looks like that is because it shares thematic. zarakis zamapkutou is based on oni and yokai same as yachiru who literally manifests two yokai like creatures. also i dont think yachiru is separated from the adult woman, they are both in the same, kubo himself describes her as part of the main body, and zaraki seems preety confident at the end of the series that she is gone.

Let's not forget that Nimaiya implied that all of this crazy stuff happens because Shinigami lose focus of the fact that the sword is just a sword. Or rather that there is nothing in a zanpakuto, that didn't come from the shinigami using it.

The manga states that Kenpachi's shikai is a grown womans voice, so Yachiru would be the bankai version if we follow Ichigos manifestations of Zanpacuto, right? Plus Yachiru unlocks his ability to wield bankai, so that also fits.
Actually it doesn't: ichigo did not know how zangetsu looked in bankai, because he was in shikai while training for it. That means the old man taught him how to do it. Kenpachi also was in shikai while nozarashi talked to him and taught him, so yachiru doesn't seem to be (a part of) the bankai version.
Translations are fickle things, but the Zangetsu - Tensa Zangetsu metaphor implies that, yeah. I think Nozarashi is the shikai spirit. It'd be weird for the Bankai spirit to talk to a person and give them their shikai name.
I think it's interesting that Kenpachi gave Yachiru the name of a heartless murderous psychopath, and the Bankai that Yachiru gives him turns him into a rampaging murderous psychopath. I think because Yachiru accepts the name Kenpachi gave her, in a way he named his own Bankai. The name of Kenpachi's bankai is Yachiru.

If you guys watch the early episode where kenpachi meet ichigo. You'll notice:
Ichigo cant seem to recognize yachiru as normal shinigami.
Zangetsu telling Ichigo that Zaraki cant hear his sword speaking to him.
I dont know if the language translation mistake but if its correct, Kubo is actually already giving a hint of Kenpachi Zanpakuto on the early episod. 😁

I love the video, I literally love all your videos but if you think about it too it’s the dynamic of Kenpachi. Fighting was really his soft side but he’s like the hardest dude in the series. His innocence as Yachiru and his love as Nozarashi was fighting. It’s like Hisoka to a physical or spiritual extent. Lol
I like the symbolism of Ichibe being a writer (with the brush, and all). Almost like an avatar of the author, or if not that, of authorship and storytelling in general.
Maybe there's a relation between Ichibe and Kenpachi? This can actually be very cool and will make sense power scale wise. Maybe Ichibe is his father and is mother is from the hell realm? That can be an interesting backstory for the upcoming hell arc
It could also be that Yachiru is the bankai spirit since it would make sense for the berserk mode to be the child to the adult as he regresses in mental capacity so the spirit regresses in age
Yachiru is the Bankai manifestation. Tekking got confused right there. Even the text says Yachiru is the bankai, the adult woman (who probably looks like Unohana with pink hair LOL) is the shikai (the voice that hears from his zampakuto right after killing Unohana, and the reason he wasnt able to recognize "her" voice). And that is why Yachiru was the one who "activated" Kenpachi's bankai.
Mature woman = Nozarashi Shikai
Yachiru = Nozarashi Bankai.
Ichigo didn't sense her stepping on him. Think he'd subconsciously knew she wasn't real?

When I think about it, it makes me remember the first time we see yachiru in bleach, when ichigo fought against kenpachi. Can we now truly say kenpachi's blade didn't trust him as zangestu implied or was it just because he didn't know the name of the zanpaktou?
Also can this also mean that the powers of the old lady nozarashi is different from the powers of the little lady nozarashi something like while the older one produces an overall immeasurable power, the younger one maintains and amplifies this power to suit kenpachi's body strength at the moment or do both of them possess just one huge appetite for cutting impossible things?
Finally does yachiru also grant kenpachi the powers of her copy slashes when she joins up with him?

Can't any shinigami manifest their zanpakuto spirit? In fact, wasn't that part of the usual bankai training, as shown by Renji in the Soul Society arc. If so, maybe "Yachiru" could still see her friends every once in a while.
My theory on the organization of the Soul Society is that all new arrivals start out beyond district 80, each in a kind of afterlife that gives them what they need to be content. But the longer you stay in bliss the more your soul yearns for, so you start to migrate to the center where you can experience more. Eventually ending up at the academy because duty is what give you purpose in the eternity of the afterlife.

So because a part of the zanpakuto's spirit is being materialized outside the inner world in Bankai and Shikai, it affects the form the zanpakuto spirit takes at that moment in that shinigami's inner world or elsewhere.

I would think that beyond the 80th district would be the beast realm as more of a wild lands sort of area, because its never stated that the beast realm is a separate place, just exists.
