the topic is about fragrance resellers in general. I have had great experiences with FragranceX before they became a sponsor.
I have been a regular shopper from FragranceX for almost 7 years now. I have my regular set of perfumes that I buy from them and was fine. Recently, they messed up with my address and it couldn't be delivered to me, so I decided to buy one of the same perfumes in store, and it smelled a whole lot different. Even the fonts and labels looked different from the old bottle. After checking the batch numbers from both bottles, the old bottle from FragranceX had an invalid batch number while the one from store had a valid batch number and could be checked online. I will stay away from FragranceX forever now.
I bought them a week ago Tom Ford Rose Cafe for $229 and they just sent me an alcoholic perfume! The fragrance is clearly fake or expired! Please help, how can I be sure of that? Invalid batch number, etc.?
After watching your video I ordered Calvin klein euphoria, I saw it at kohl's for $30 more than the bottle I got and it was a smaller bottle
I usually load up on the sample vials from discounters and then use a more reputable retailer when im ready to pull the trigger on one i like

I've been buying from Fragrance X for years. And have been pleasantly satisfied. I bought perfumes as gifts, men cologne for my husband. No complaints ever! If I knew how to add pictures I would.

Never ordering from them again. I was SO excited to receive my fragrances and when I tried them they were very old and weak and smelled nothing like they were supposed to. Just dry and did not last long. They may claim to be authentic and original but they can still be old. Very disappointing.
I haven't found that to be the case. But they do have an excellent return service, so you can return them without a problem.

I purchased a acqua di gio from a guy who was selling fragrances outside walmart, the price was to die for and I just can not resist to buy from him so I paid 35 for a large bottle, when I opened I saw the cap was missing and the bottle has a yellow color but the juice smells like acqua di gio so I spray it and I got rash on my skin, since then I spray it on clothes with no problem at all, so I do not regret my purchased

Ebay is Russsian Roulette, but everytime I have tried to order from FragranceX, I cna't, the site, or pg will not load right. Never have this problem anywhere else.
Fragrancex is also Perfume.com. Same physical address, different discount codes.

+BCandSL62309 I disagree. This is the most-asked question I get in emails. I think this is very useful if you don't know where to shop. You have to remember: this is a basics series. Not everything will be useful for people who are experienced.

just bought bvlgari atlantique from Fragrancex (October 2019). It was a waste of time and money. The scent dies in about 30 minutes. No one around me could smell it. Manufacture date was 2016....

It lasts only 1 hour ana I think its grade C and it's fake....you can try it.....

I would say here in Europe/ UK - notino is my first choice. Outside of Europe/UK - Fragrance x first then fragrance net .... Fragrance x - not always the cheapest, bearing in mind, fragrances that are manufactured in Europe etc etc. Just today - Amourage Gold - for a good price. But mostly I find them not that cheap. Just have to keep fishing. Buying fragrances is like being on the stock market.

I bought a paris Hilton perfume called "Heiress". This is my favorite perfume and I always buy it. When it arrived, the color was very noticeably off. Very tan colored which is NOT NORMAL AT ALL. It also did not come in it's original box or the top... instead it came in some random cardboard box... and it had a sticker on it that said "tester ". Disgusting. At this point I'm just afraid of using it. Horrible. I'll stick with over stock

Actually I have shopped at fragrance ax I purchased two perfumes one is my favorite which is fifth avenue by Elizabeth Arden and the second one was escape by Kevin Klein also one of my old time favorites.
What I have noticed is escape is just as my regular bottle from Macy's no problem whatsoever still have the same longevity and staying power . 5th avenue however it's not. I don't know if just the product itself change in the last couple of years or so because my older bottle is sitting in my car glove box is still smell like it even though it's empty. it never her changed. The one I got from fragrance x is just I don't know how to put it, it's very weak, it leaves so much to be desired .
Like I said I don't know it could be the quality of the perfume itself changed in the last couple years, or maybe I got a fake bottle I cannot till .

All of the fragrances I've gotten from fragrancenet have awful sillage and don't last past 3 hrs. Legit scent, bad performance. Discounts are always a warning if it's not holiday season.
You probably just bought colognes with generally shit performance. Be more specific so we can have abit more context.

YES They are legit. What happens is malls never sell all of their colognes. So they go into wholesale mode where you get them for pennies on the dollar from wholesalers. I own about 60 plus colognes from fragrancex. I collect scents I LOVE and was only able to collect them because of fragrancex and fragrancenet. Honestly fragrancenet sometimes has even better deals and harder to find scents. Try both of them.

Most of the discounters have ebay stores. Plus you can get individuals selling their bottl they were gifted and don't like. You just have to judge the situation, ask questions. Just got 3.3 of La nuit de l'homme this way for a steal. Actually, nevermind, don't go on ebay, you always get ripped off, you're right.

I bought Coach perfume what a waste of money it could be because I got it from rite aid but it was locked behind you had to have to get a lot to open up the lock to get it it was just wasn't worth it it was just water piss me off
This is a paid advert for FrangranceX. You cannot review sites after being paid by one, especially if you only review that one.
This video is about online resellers in general. FragranceX just happens to be the sponsor, which is a trusted site. If you don't want to shop at FragranceX, my advice in this video still applies to many other sites.

I had my g pops Alfred Sung Eau De Cologne and it reeked. I don’t know if it was expired but no ma’am.
some of their colognes that they sell r fake, u can check on various websites if its real, shelf date etc, if it comes up with a date after u type in the serial number then its real but if it doesnt its fake, the Burberry london cologne they sell is a 100 percent fake, the knit on it is glued on with one dot of it and the serial number is sticked on
they do NOT sell fakes. Everything is 100% legit. Packaging changes from time to time, and when a fragrance company needs to cut back on expenses, packaging can be the first thing to go.

You said the bottle. That's packaging. You can believe me or not, it's no skin off my back. They don't sell fake bottles. This was a sponsored video like a year or two ago. Do you wear the bottle? You wear the juice, and everything that houses the juice is just packaging. But arguing about it here is stupid. If you're so mad about it being a fake, just return it, like I mentioned. That solves your problem. Complaining on UA-cam doesn't help anything.
Such sponsored channels are actually keeping shady businesses like FragranceX to keep up their act.

Havent used frangranceX, so i guess my response is invalid, but i was just about to order something on there, which is usually $140 from the actual brand, but on frangranceX it was ~$130, with a %15 off coupon it was roughly $111, but then once i added up all the shipping, taxes, etc, it turned out to be $138. so i guess saving $2 on a much older fragrance is definitely not a deal, but i guess if you either live closer or however you get around that, it might actually be a good deal? i guess its different to each individual
it also depends on what fragrance you get. A new fragrance or some niche scents might not have as much savings as other fragrances.

I have a website and been selling perfumes for over 8 years and my fragrance supplier is FragranceX and have never had a problem. They do sell legit fragrances and testers or both FragranceX and I would have been out of business a long time ago. Check my site out. If you don't see your fragrance, leave me a comment. They have over 14,000 fragrances and I can't list them all. This comment is based on my experience with the company not sponsered.

Yeah I have bought some fragrances on ebay too. If you know what to look for, I think you should be fine. The problem is that there are a lot of sellers in China that sell fake juice, so I have warn people. 🙂

I use ony Fragnet and fragrancex, Fragnet takes longer amd fragX is fast I bought so many colgnes I'm a collector bough many from Macy's , Sephora, and local shops and these sites, the only way I buy from eBay , is to buy vintage colognes that are discontinued or formula that isn't used today example , KOUROS YVES SAINT LAURENT I buy many vintages bottles from eBay , Kouros is my favorite amd the bottle with chrome shoulders and chrome bottle. Piece are the vintage kind and the the very best strong very strong also Aramis I own bottles of aramis from the 60s all the way thru the early 2000 before oakmoss was replaced by treemoss , never had an issue and if u do your research how to spot fakes then u shouldn't worry about Fragnet and fragrancex, there just older batches and believe what I say colognes are like wine , they age very well if stored properly away from heat and light , they can last for decades and smell just as good just more oily lol , eBay for me is only for vintage buys , I mean who the hell is gonna fake an Aramis bottle , it's not a big seller like Fahrenheit or Creed or any Chanel Versace products

Okay so to update what I posted. I received my fragrance two days ago so it only took FragranceX 3 days to ship me my product. Now I could not find Elie Saab Le Parfume to sample before I received it from FragranceX so I can't testify that it smells like the department store. It has a very strong opening, which I'm not use to but the dry down is absolutely beautiful and it's lasted a good 5+ hours on me. So my suggestion is to purchase something you already have first to verify that the perfume smells the way it's suppose to smell. Other than not really knowing if the smell is the same I'm really pleased with FragranceX service and price.
Sorry my bad.... 🙄 Didn't realize that you had put up a fresh post regarding your experience. Unfortunately my problem is that there's no way I can sniff the fragrance (Rochas eau de rochas pour homme) that I want since it's unavailable here in Dubai. Anyway... Most of the reviews about FragranceX seem to be positive and the perfume I'm looking for is a cheapie anyway so I guess I'll just go ahead and place an order and see how it goes!

Umm, all I can say is lol. If you think buying old fragrances is a good idea, you don't know anything about fragrance. Designer fragrance lasts a few years at the very best. If you go niche, it will age with time but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

What I have a hard time with, is believing a review from someone who's been *paid* to give a product review then uses that product as a "example" in the video and expecting that we believe it to be an honest review. There are SO MANY perfume scammers out there and youtube is ripe with all these companies paying off people to give them "good reviews", do you blame us? I must say though that I would rather pay full price and get a genuine **new** product then pay for something that has lost its scent because it's been in a factory for years. Being a 'fragrance connoisseur' you *should* know that most fragrances are only good for 1-2 years max before they become stale and significantly degrade in their molecular structure which is WHY they become discount fragrances to begin with. These discount companies sell them as though they are "JUST AS GOOD" as the original NEW fragrance which is deceptive marketing, which I cannot respect.
@@danndeelion I appreciate your comment. I would also agree that this video isn't the best use of an advertiser. I try to use them in ways that aren't related to the content of the video. This series began as an idea in collaboration with FragranceX, and I thought the topic in general would be great to use in a series about fragrance basics. But I should have used a different advertiser. That said, I have another video about how long a fragrance should last, and it is incorrect that a fragrance only lasts one to two years. It's also incorrect that you are getting some sort of bad or stale fragrance if you buy from a discounter.

I hate to say it, but it's a topic that is under-addressed in Frag Comm...because I have been ripped off by every...single...store...that was not the original store OR was not a well-established brick/mortar establishment specializing in frags (good experience with TwistedLily by mail, and no, not affiliated with them). Amazon is *THE worst*; anyone who orders a frag from them deserves to be sent diluted gasoline.
I've had good luck with Amazon. The only thing I ordered that seemed very diluted was Drakkar Noir and they actually sent me a replacement bottle after several months (I only used it 5 times). You have to make sure you order from Amazon direct and not their 3rd party resellers, although I worry about commingled stock in their warehouses that's combined with their resellers whose goods are "shipped and fulfilled by Amazon".
You have to check all your batch codes on Checkfresh.com or Checkcosmetic.net, and if the bottles are old and weak, tell customer service of any discounter just how old the bottles are. I did that with Target.com and they were amazed.
TwistedLily is legit, I visit the actual retail location, it's amazing.

I also get great and sometimes better deals from the niche houses themselves.
They are always needing to raise capitol for future business endeavors, so they let go
of some of their products with deep discounts.
I find that I sometimes bottles that are more than a few years old from Fragrancenet but that's probably the case with all the discounters. The few times I've had to return, Fragrancenet took the bottles back with no questions and paid for return shipping. The best bargains I've gotten are at the year end holiday season when Target.com has their annual sale. They've been using Perfume-Worldwide as their distributor (aka Scentmonkey).
I got a few things through Target which were good, but then a got a couple which
weren't .One was Givench's Play.Have no idea what it was. Target took them back, no questions asked..
