Or more accurately, this ship is essential to allow orgs to traverse their fleets across territory. As it stands right now, with current distance-fuel balancing, most fighters in the game can easily patrol a small star system without any issues (Stanton is considered small, at 5 AU). It remains to be seen how often an org will need to carry said fighters outside of a single star system.

I feel like this ship along with the base building vehicle on the ballista chassis would work great for base building on small groups. Basically just friends playing around and not orgs
If the Liberator is a modular ship, then there ARE a variety of functions it could usefully play currently. Namely as a short stay long range base of operations. I can see this ship featuring as a mining base, perhaps holding a couple of Prospectors, (I wonder if it's large enough for a Mole?) a couple of ROC's and mebbe a Pisces or MPV
It's not, but it doesn't need modules to facilitate a wide variety of functions simply due to the massive cargo space it has, and the utilization of hand held repair, salvage and refueling mechanics intended to exist down the line. From all of the current information we have, it's more than capable of functioning as a refitting platform, but the extent of that refitting is dependent on the extent of hand-held tools. As we know, the Multi-tool facilitates the absolute bare minimum level repair/medical/etc, and main-hand tools take that to the next level. If you carry the raw materials on the Liberator, and a main-hand repair tool, chances are you will be able to do a limited number of repairs on your ship without ever needing a Crucible.
@@Farrister Shame it's not modular, would open up a variety of scenarios. But another person has posted a reply showing why it does not need modularity.
I've been really looking forward to the Liberator being released since it was introduced, but especially now that Pyro is actually starting to feel "real". When not ferrying ships back and forth, I'm hoping I can use it regularly as part of a small salvage fleet with a group of friends. Currently I bring out a C2, while my buddies bring out Vultures, and we hit up some salvage contracts and offload the cargo (both from the salvage claim, and the produced RMC boxes from the Vultures) into the C2. I'm hoping with the Liberator, I can also bring along my own Vulture, so I can help with the salvaging while leaving the liberator near the wreck site to offload into. With 400 SCU of cargo, it should have plenty of space for a large salvage mission, and be able to bring a Vulture (or two) along with it.
This would be fantastic in solo salvage operations. Stick the vulture on top, and head out to those capital sized contracts. No more back and forth to get all the cargo/salvage.
@@Farrister if the metrics don't change, it should be able to carry 2 vultures. In fact, it should fit at least one exemplary of any ship narrower than a constellation (constellation included if you are really precise). Of course, we will have to wait to see what can indeed pass onto these pads... But that's what maths give us for now.
Its last measurements were estimated to be able to hold 18 folded Arrows comfortably, or 20 if you really carefully pack them in tight. Can probably hold many more Furies, especially accounting for all the inside space. I'd say if it were to deploy a swarm of Fury snubs, it'd probably be more beneficial to actually fly the Liberator in as well, to share its armor and point defense systems to bolster the survivability of the Fury fleet, and lend its 2xS5 turret to help focus down larger targets.
The liberator is one of those ships that could turn out to be either extremely valuable or entirely useless depending on how cig is balancing the game in the future. The initial idea of pyro for example was that it's large and has fuel scarcity but whether that will actually be the case for the final balance remains to be seen as in the past few years CIG has shown a tendency to soften their stance on several mechanics in favor of convenience, which is not a bad thing, but might cause issues with ships like the starfarer or the liberator.
Hey Farrister, I loved your review of the Liberator. I've always liked the concept of having a medium hauler that can transport ships and vehicles around in the verse. I wish I could afford the cost, as it would be nice to own one. Unfortunately, my budget just doesn't support it. Thank you for the review, and keep up giving great and informative videos on ships and vehicles. Take care my friend. Fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
Your Drydock series has quickly become one of my favorite formats. I hope you continue to create more of these heavily narrated slideshows talking about fictional spaceships. o7
I did some experiment with the liberator's hologram model and other ships, back in time (imported them into blender at-scale, also reconstructed the size of the hangar of the liberator based on the concepts). If we take for granted the words of the developers who told us "if it sit it fit, you just won't be allowed to spawn it that way", then we can assume that : - you can put a reliant inside the hangar, having access to, for exemple, a lab. -you can squeeze 2 prospector per XS pad and 1 on the XXS, for a total of 5 mining laser, or 1 mole per XS and 1 prospector on the XXS, for a total of 7 mining laser. An odisseus for refining take up one XS pad too. Sadly, if the mesures are correct, prospectors cannot land inside the hangar. They might enter, depending on the exact size of the door, but they stand too tall with their landing gears deployed. - more militaristic user can fit two redeemer on its XS pads (cockpit to cockpit, tails hanging outside), as well as an impressive number of arrow and even more furies in the handar and on the XXS front pad. You would be seriously lacking in the bed department sadly... A MPUV or a spartan with bunker beds would be awesome for these configurations. That's just what I remember... I tested every single ships on these pads...
@@Farristerif you are not affraid of using blender, I still have the files, if you want to check your own combinations. I once diffused them over CIG's spectrum.
It would be a good ship to move your small ships through star systems. I can see myself using it to store a Prospector, Vulture, and Avenger for whatever the situation calls for.
Thank you, Farrister for making these videos! I do look forward to this flexible ship to arrive in the Verse. It's one drawback as a carrier, unlike the Kraken, is that it has no beds for passengers, only jumpseats. Short-term transport/ops only, I guess.
I have a Liberator, and it even influenced some of my later ship purchases, notably a C8R Pisces, a Legionnaire, a Spartan, and a Tumbril Storm. Basically I can support a boarding party or a small ground force. I also have my Prospector and Vulture, so I could use it to support my mining and salvage more efficiently than I'm doing it now. And of course, I can transport many of my smaller ships with relative ease.
The Liberator has the same vibe as an LCAC "Landing Craft Air Cushion" or an amphibious assault ship. While they advertise the Hercules as some sort of heavy tank transport that lands in combat zones, it just feels more like a normal transport ship. The Liberator tho, I can see as the main component of a task force assaulting a base. Able to launch escorts and land ground troops and vehicles, it feels like a true landing ship/FOB for an initial assault, paving the way for more vulnerable transport craft to come in.
They said years ago that this ship would be the ship that ferries us into Pyro. I just wonder about the 2 automatic turrets. I don't know that I've ever heard anything about automated turrets on the trackers. Oh and loaner ships are an M2 and a Super Hornet.
This is it, this is my dream large ship capable of operating as a mobile base. I Was really hoping there'd be another ship besides the Kraken that could operate as a platform for folks to land on and resupply/rearm either in my squad/org or as a service (practically like a deep space gas station) and you've helped me find it. Here's hoping since it's been in concept for a couple years now that means it's only 2-3 away once they've implemented a couple more systems to really give it content to chew on. Keep it up Farrister, your channel and your work has been what's finally helped me make sense of this game after a year of lurking since pledging for my Cutter and since getting really fired up by CitizenCon, you're a real credit to the community and I'll be here rooting you on all the way to the top ^^
I immediately fell in love with the Liberator as an industrial carrier (and went ahead and pledged for one). I'd like to not have to spring for a Kraken, so this might be the sweet spot for a small company operation.
The way I see it, the real Mining fleet use for a solo or small group operation, would be 1-2 prospectors with 1 Expanse. The Prospector goes out and fills up on ore, swaps the saddle bags for empty spares back at the Liberator, and goes back out. The Expanse then refines those raw ore bags so the Liberator only brings back the best return possible.
If CIG ever chooses to remove claim timers and spawn transport missions instead; this ship will be a must-have for me. Also I'm still looking into getting a multicrew base of operations and for me this is a close tie with the MISC Odyssey and the RSI Polaris, although the latter has a much higher minimum crew size. But having a mobile place to come together with a hangar is still something I want to add to my hangar
I'm hoping to see more light carrier designs. Like small cruisers and fighters, these small mobile hangars should be included in the list of things all companies should offer. An ARGO or Consolidated Outland multifunctional small carrier would be perfect for a more civilian design. I can already see an open top and light armour design on the CO to park the Mustang and Nomad, and the facilities the ARGO would host to make long range small operations possible.
@@Farrister It's not like you can pilot multiple ships at once. Trying to use multiple vehicles for a certain task, on your own, feels like building a house with a hand tied behind your back, some ships alone feel that way. Coordination with a friend becomes necessary eventually, sure you might manage inching your way to the goal, but it's unlikely you'll have much fun doing it. Your mobile garage of a light carrier can be a range-extender for many smaller ships, people are already using the Carrack for this and of course are very easy victims for a pirate because it's a lumbering beast with crippled coverage and offensive ability if there's noone on a turret or tender to help. I can't imagine a pure carrier, a light one at that that makes compromises to maximise both his function and a certain form factor, could fare any better. A carrier by concept alone depends on others.
I was thinking of this ship as an analogue to a ferry, like the ones that move cars and people across a river or lake. But it's a lot more like the LCAC; Those big navy hovercraft/landing craft that can glide over the water and up the beach and then lower their front ramp and deliver tanks and other military vehicles. Except obviously a space-faring version of that idea.
Hoping we will be able to claim ships as salvage and be able to repair them to working order. Was considering the Lib to transport the hulls or pieces.
My wife and I intend to use my Liberator to take our Hawks on longer range bounty hunting missions. Secondary use is to move our carrier birds, bikes and gear when we move our base of operations.
Great video! I think the liberator would be a great complement with a starfarer and anvil crucible to be a mobile base of operations for fighter squadrons and can even refuel and repair fleets and squadrons for friendly players who have just finished a combat operation. The possibilities are endless!
Biggest thing I want to see is what refueling and rearming really look like long term. And what functions of that does the Liberator provide. If final gameplay mechanics make it logical for an individual to land, refuel, and rearm their own smaller ship this thing is going to be awesome for 2 or 3 friends that want to play and use it as their small mobile base. Room for everyone to live and bring their own fighter and ground vehicle and head out into the verse.
A lot of people have mentioned vulture and it should definitely fit. In game designation is size 2 hangar, which is the same size hangar as all the ships listed in the developers documentation like the light/medium fighters. CIG says xs which is hanger size 2
I see a Liberator, I give a like. Seriously the Lib is my most sought after ship by far. I only have 3 ships in my fleet and the Liberator will be my mini fleet carrier for myself and a couple friends. I cant wait for it to come out and I hope it is not too long coming! The 2953 IAE showroom holo viewer looks more advanced than it was when we last saw it so here's hoping!
lol also true. I suppose if every player had access to one it would just play like Space Engineers and everyone is out in the void doing their own thing. If these carriers are a rarity in the player base (eg. 10 percent or less), it incentivizes economy around their use between players. But there's no getting around the fact that we are translating our capitalism and haves and have-nots right into the game's DNA, through our wallets@@Farrister
Because of my Poor English This is Translate by Copilot. In the concept art, opposite the cockpit and cargo area, there is another living and preparation area. In addition to 16 jump seats, there are also two bathrooms, 4+8 storage lockers, and 6+8 suit lockers. Aside from the insufficient number of bunks, this concept-stage ship can fully support more characters living in it.
315p/cutter scout, Prospector, Expanse. Now you don't have to store unrefined ore in the Lib cargo bay, you can go straight for pure refined ore. 400 scu of refined ore is a lot.
Depending on how they change how you spawn ships, this could be a massive benefit. Increasing the number of vehicles you can spawn and/or having member-spawned, Org-owned ships would make this into one of the best options for a mobile home base.
It needs a medical facility. This reminds me of my days in the Navy riding large deck amphibs, which were essentially small deck carriers. But we had a great medical facility.
Ive been so looking forward to other ships such as the perseus and galaxy i never thought of the Lib, I feel the two/one player count qould make it an ideal ship as a sort of home base where you can load up a variety of vehicles like fighter/miner, couple of different vehicle types and boom, mobile base for every need haha. Beginning to think of investing in this instead of more specific role ships
Here's another role: A mover for a racer. Enough space to carry their full-sized racing ship, a complete back-up, a snazzy runabout for them like a P-72 or 85x, and all the spare parts you could ask for.
One of the biggest limiting factors of the Liberator is its actual crew quarters. The ship in concept can only support a 'true' crew size of a measily 2 people. So no logging on or off for the 'passengers' except if their own ship has a bed, severely limiting what can actually be done with it. It won´t be able to act as a mobile base for fighters without a bed over multiple play sessions since the pilot would not spawn where their fighter would be. But also with what was shown at CitCon this feels very limited. My guess is that the crew quarters will be extended to support a few more people to at least be able to manage the engineering tasks of the ship without having the need to leave the pilot and gunner seat.
I'm curious to know how much scu off grid storage there will be in the lower hanger. My goal is to solo salvage with it, put a vulture on the top and use the bottom hanger to store all the crates of rmc/metals etc...Making it easier to do larger solo projects safely in the middle of nowhere.
I plan to use the liberator as a mobile solo/duo salvage operation. Pair with a srv/vulture makes me able to salvage all cargo weapons and rmc for maximum solo profit. Relcaimer would be nice but gett cargo into it externally is a pain. Cant wait for this ship
@Farrister the f7c was pictured in the concept art and that bad boy is 25.5 x 28. Vulture is 16 x 33. So width wise it will fit. Only issue is length as its 1 meter longer then the xs hanger size. But im sure length wont be an issue whatsoever.
My dream I think is to have a Liberator as a personal mobile home base. Maybe one day I decide I'd like to hole up in Pyro so I load up my Liberator with my daily driver, a fighter and a C8R on the pads, then I'll stuff a ROC and maybe a Storm inside and just go park in orbit somewhere. One day I'll take a bounty contract and hop in whatever fighter I've got there and head out and back, or another day I need to go raid a bunker so I land and roll out my Storm, and then the next day I do some ROC mining to chill for a bit. With 400 scu I imagine I'd have plenty of space to store extra supplies to survive for at least a few days in my own.
@@rambaral340 it can't refuel ships on its own since it doesn't have refueling facilites with the external tanks being purely cosmetc, but eventually we are supposed to be able to bring fuel tanks with us on the cargo grid (similar to the red ones you can see at the refuel station in hangars) and use them to refuel ships.
@bigbuna Liberator has more flexibility. It's a cross between an LHD and a landing craft. Tiny crew req, lower cost: lot of options. Kraken is more straight carrier. It's a one-trick pony. You're not going to be performing a combat landing in one. Cargo's a secondary consideration. Kraken has the advantage in capacity, but it's all heading on a single vector. For the money/crew, you can have 2-3 Liberators going any which way.
Hey Farrister. I think you should incorporate scenes from your location spotlights as background video for drydock videos. It would make it less of a PowerPoint slideshow.
@@Farrister would adding a back box behind the font help? Or maybe not make the text so central on the video? Most of the time I will read the text only once, then listen to your commentary.
As much an Anvil fan as I may be, the Liberator just didn't grab me. Part of the reason why is that I see it as a primarily ground vehicle transport with the ability to carry a fighter or two, rather than a dedicated CVL like the Kraken.
My vision, as a solo miner, is to use this as a nomadic base. On top I'd place a 315p for scouting, a Prospector for mining, an Expanse for refining, and then have a ROC and all the extra supplies I need underneath. I can't afford it in USD, but will definitely be working my way towards it in UEC ASAP!!
Well, I've used Fleetviewer to put it on top of the Liberator and it seems to fit fine. If it sits it fits with SC, it seems, regardless of the size pad in the description. @@Farrister

im interested in how the magnetic locking (assume) of the ships on the platforms work? could you for example have a lot of fury fighters, far more than the 2-4 its supposed to carry and have a swarm function? that could prove very deadly and cool. worry is would all of them lock down and sit there during flight, quantum etc?
On kinda surprising thing is there really aren't any quarters for "passengers" they really should have something to keep them entertained and not causing problems. Really hope we see it sooner rather than later.
there are, the upper floor is reserved for the crew only connected via lifts which in the future should limit access, while the lower floor for passengers has jumpseats, suit- and storage lockers as well as a bathroom and a docking collar. The ship is not designed for longterm missions so there are no living quarters or a kitchen for the passengers.
I want this ship as my mobile home base. Not to mention to work as a taxi moving peoples ships and ground vehicles to and from other systems for a price.
I think this thing would be very useful as a mining base, 400 SCU of cargo is really good especially since the prospector fits in there, but 500 dollars?
its even more than 400 scu, the 400 are just secured cargo. Theoretically you could store many more of the ore saddlebags in the hangar, there just wont be any magnetic plates to secure them.
@@Farrister That's true. Hmm I was thinking if it could hold a couple of medical pisces, maybe a Cutlass Red, or that other medical ship they refer to?
@Farrister Top two pads are the XS pads. The front pad is XXS, it isn't as big. Medium Vehicle pads are the same size as XXS pads except for a difference of one meter in height, according to what they said in the Liberator video. There are some database errors, but, generally, an XS pad is designed for any size 1 or 2 ship. An XXS pad is designed for Size One (typically snubs). An Arrow should be either the largest size 1 ship or the smallest size 2. (The Razor and M50 are likely wrong or the Arrow is wrong. The Pices is wrong.)
@@Farrister I’ve been testing out Pyro. It definitely looks fantastic. It seems people will do well to travel in groups (which the Liberator will be perfect for). I’m actually feeling confident we may have Pyro opened up to live by summer……maybe fall. You know the saying…….Soon.
this ship is supposed to release with pyro. heres hoping to a 2025 release. going to cram the upper deck with manned ballistas and wreck some people haha. lets hope cig makes a med bed variant or adds a few more bunk meds and a med bed in it. lets hope it has the most armor out of any ship so far because it looks like it does. lets hope you will have to physically move all of your small ships to pyro when you make the move from stanton instead of just being able to spawn them at pyro once you travel there in a large ship. I want that feeling of being forced to traverse long dangerous distances with all my gear aboard the liberator.
I'm excited about the possibilities the Liberator brings to the game even if it is a relatively simple ship. But CIG needs to stop leaving large ships completely defenceless with lacking turret coverage. It's not fun for anyone and makes no sense from immersion standpoint. Turrets with size 1 guns covering all angles wouldn't be OP.
I do agree that it is not a combat ship but it still exists in environment where it is expected to encounter combat occasionally. Putting on a little pressure on an aggressor to help out the escort or to use as point defence against torpedoes is needed. A pair of size 1s on the underside wouldn't make it overpowered even when compared to starter ships. Compared to ships of similar size you could even make an argument for size 3s and still be within defensive weapons. Escorts are certainly an option but if you have ever played an escort mission where a single mistake fails the mission I believe we can see where the argument comes. And torpedoes can definitely do that. The lack of coverage isn't fun for the Liberator either. Can't maneuver fast enough to defend yourself at all and you can only watch your shields come down. And if all skill it takes to destroy a ship is to hold down the trigger I'd say it's not very fun for the attacker either.
just a thought a Prospector . Expanse and a Vulture with 3 fury's for escort LOL and you have one all round mining salvage base . on the other hand ship transport would be a good job when people can not just claim the ship form another station 😁 I would have thought it would have more shields than the Zeus though to protect the ships your transporting as you may not have the pilots with you eg the owner sunning it up on a beach someplace not in Pyro LOL
the specifications are still the old metrics, they did/are doing a full rebalancing of component sizes and amounts due to the resource managment system. Under the old metric the Zeus would probably had a single s2 shield for example. The shield also doesn't extend over the ships it is transporting on the upper flightdeck.

From all of the current information we have, it's more than capable of functioning as a refitting platform, but the extent of that refitting is dependent on the extent of hand-held tools.

From a fellow salvager, I would love that!
As a liberator owner myself i loved the video, hope they put it into the game soon
Glad to have the seal of approval - an exciting ship!
So ready for this ship in Pyro
Traveling in packs will be status quo in Pyro.
@gegelapraline7309 the inside vehicle/hangar bay filled with Fury’s.😬
Yes please!
This would be fantastic in solo salvage operations. Stick the vulture on top, and head out to those capital sized contracts. No more back and forth to get all the cargo/salvage.
I thought that too! But no confirmation whether Vulture would fit...
I can imagine the Liberator just hovering in the distance of a planetary ground/air fight, suddenly releasing a swarm of Furys.
This seems to be the theme :D
Agreed completely! Time will tell
I would love to see a dry dock video on the Carrack, so many cool features are planned for that ship.
I need to do an updated review of the Carrack, I think!
@@Farrister would love to see it, I even have a named one though I doubt you'd need to borrow it.
Fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
o7 thanks Koron
Your Drydock series has quickly become one of my favorite formats. I hope you continue to create more of these heavily narrated slideshows talking about fictional spaceships. o7
Thank you! I really enjoy making them, also the end part tells me for sure you reached the end of the video :D thanks for letting me know :) o7
I did some experiment with the liberator's hologram model and other ships, back in time (imported them into blender at-scale, also reconstructed the size of the hangar of the liberator based on the concepts).
If we take for granted the words of the developers who told us "if it sit it fit, you just won't be allowed to spawn it that way", then we can assume that :
- you can put a reliant inside the hangar, having access to, for exemple, a lab.
Wow, love that you "did the maths" on this one!
Can totally see that, I hope the Vulture will fit!
Thank you, Farrister for making these videos! I do look forward to this flexible ship to arrive in the Verse. It's one drawback as a carrier, unlike the Kraken, is that it has no beds for passengers, only jumpseats. Short-term transport/ops only, I guess.
Thanks Eric, will be interesting to follow this ship!
This is my ship!! The Ship that Ships Ships!! I can’t see why this can’t be done ASAP and especially when a 3rd system comes out it may be “required”.
The ship that ships ships!
I don’t need to be interested in any particular ship, I like your content so imma watch it through from start to finish
Ah I was trying to work out if Vulture would fit!
It really does have that look to it!
They said years ago that this ship would be the ship that ferries us into Pyro. I just wonder about the 2 automatic turrets. I don't know that I've ever heard anything about automated turrets on the trackers.
Oh and loaner ships are an M2 and a Super Hornet.
Nice loaners though...
Totally!
Imagine using a Vulcan with the liberator it definitely would be able to replace a capital ship or carrier for light operations.
*imagining*
The way I see it, the real Mining fleet use for a solo or small group operation, would be 1-2 prospectors with 1 Expanse. The Prospector goes out and fills up on ore, swaps the saddle bags for empty spares back at the Liberator, and goes back out. The Expanse then refines those raw ore bags so the Liberator only brings back the best return possible.
Totally agree, if the Expanse fits...
Define "Upcoming" :)
Anyway, yeah the Liberator is def one of my most anticipated ships
"Soon (TM)"
If CIG ever chooses to remove claim timers and spawn transport missions instead; this ship will be a must-have for me. Also I'm still looking into getting a multicrew base of operations and for me this is a close tie with the MISC Odyssey and the RSI Polaris, although the latter has a much higher minimum crew size. But having a mobile place to come together with a hangar is still something I want to add to my hangar
For sure, I think it'll be great for logistically moving things around
cant wait for this ship i love the Liberator, small group of friends and a Liberator what more could u want
Sounds wonderful!
Me too, but also clear to everybody that they'll need to work as a group to operate them!
Yes, it does kinda have that vibe to it
What a great video! I love the directness of it 10/10 I'm subscribing
Welcome aboard!
Hoping we will be able to claim ships as salvage and be able to repair them to working order. Was considering the Lib to transport the hulls or pieces.
Oh that's an interesting idea!
My wife and I intend to use my Liberator to take our Hawks on longer range bounty hunting missions. Secondary use is to move our carrier birds, bikes and gear when we move our base of operations.
Sounds like it could be a good choice for that!
I have been waiting for this video since your first dry dock video! Up the mighty flying wedge
The mighty wedge!
Great video! I think the liberator would be a great complement with a starfarer and anvil crucible to be a mobile base of operations for fighter squadrons and can even refuel and repair fleets and squadrons for friendly players who have just finished a combat operation. The possibilities are endless!
I like the sound of that...
Agree, interested in that kind of support gameplay too :D
A lot of people have mentioned vulture and it should definitely fit. In game designation is size 2 hangar, which is the same size hangar as all the ships listed in the developers documentation like the light/medium fighters. CIG says xs which is hanger size 2
Would love if it does!
Another great video Farrister. Art in motion.
Thank you!
I am anxiously waiting for this baby!!!
Me too!
So much Lib love!
It looks as though you have the pad sizes mixed around - the Libby features 2 XS pads on the top deck, and 3 XXS pads on the lower deck.
Oh really? You might be right!
Outrageous cost for the ship tbh. Outside of the cost, it would be fun to be a hop on hop off transport service.
Outrageous cost could apply to many ships in Star Citizen :D
lol also true.
I look forward to this because I really want another shit that's able to utilize ground vehicles! Looking forward to see this come out!
Suspect that's a typo, rather than slander to our favourite Liberator? :D
315p/cutter scout, Prospector, Expanse. Now you don't have to store unrefined ore in the Lib cargo bay, you can go straight for pure refined ore. 400 scu of refined ore is a lot.
Sounds incredible, if they all fit!
@@Farrister according to star hangar they do, but we will see when it's out lol
Depending on how they change how you spawn ships, this could be a massive benefit. Increasing the number of vehicles you can spawn and/or having member-spawned, Org-owned ships would make this into one of the best options for a mobile home base.
I can't wait to finally see mine ingame !
Just finished my CCU chain to her today with 300 in savings. Looking forward to seeing her hopefully sooner than later
Can’t wait for SC to present viable gameloops to ships like this!
Generosity?
@@Farrister lol dang typo
It needs a medical facility. This reminds me of my days in the Navy riding large deck amphibs, which were essentially small deck carriers. But we had a great medical facility.
YES! It totally has that look to it!
nice coverage, appreciated.
Unlike those turrets.... :D
It's tempting, if you have the ships to put aboard!
Yup, me want, er need. It can be very useful for sure. Love the video that you do. Thank you.
Thanks :)
I can't wait to grab it, carrier gameplay is everything I want lol
Be sure to bring some friends along!
Well I better start making some XD@@Farrister
Here's another role: A mover for a racer. Enough space to carry their full-sized racing ship, a complete back-up, a snazzy runabout for them like a P-72 or 85x, and all the spare parts you could ask for.
Best Org use case is, likely, to resupply a base, an Idris, or a Kraken. Bringing replacement fighters and supplies.
Oh that's an interesting idea too!
Vulture, argo srv and medical pieces. Maybe an ursa for ground missions but overall this becomes my salvaging platform.
If the Vulture and SRV would fit, that could be awesome!
If it fits, Vulture would be an incredible pairing!
I love the idea of that dream!
i would love to see people use it as a Fury carrier
i hope it can refuel i would totally use it for that
@@rambaral340 it can't refuel ships on its own since it doesn't have refueling facilites with the external tanks being purely cosmetc, but eventually we are supposed to be able to bring fuel tanks with us on the cargo grid (similar to the red ones you can see at the refuel station in hangars) and use them to refuel ships.
Seems a popular idea!
I'm curious as to how well the Vulture would fit.
All this talk of mining, but none of remote salvage operations!
I absolutely thought that! But don't have confirmation that the Vulture would fit on the pads. If so, that's VERY tempting!
The ultimate fleet transporter!
kraken enter the chat
I prefer the Kraken and own one but its role is more than simply a fleet transport
For sure!
Hey Farrister. I think you should incorporate scenes from your location spotlights as background video for drydock videos. It would make it less of a PowerPoint slideshow.
You know, I actually tried that for this one before reverting back. The moving footage in the back made the text much harder to read
@@Farrister would adding a back box behind the font help? Or maybe not make the text so central on the video? Most of the time I will read the text only once, then listen to your commentary.
@@MaxPayne145 I may do some more experimenting :)
@@Farrister love your stuff though man. I just think the drydock series could be spiced up a tad bit.
I'm so excited for this ship
Totally!
As much an Anvil fan as I may be, the Liberator just didn't grab me. Part of the reason why is that I see it as a primarily ground vehicle transport with the ability to carry a fighter or two, rather than a dedicated CVL like the Kraken.
Of course it didn't grab you, the tractor beam isn't operational yet
My vision, as a solo miner, is to use this as a nomadic base. On top I'd place a 315p for scouting, a Prospector for mining, an Expanse for refining, and then have a ROC and all the extra supplies I need underneath. I can't afford it in USD, but will definitely be working my way towards it in UEC ASAP!!
Do you think the Expanse will fit?
Well, I've used Fleetviewer to put it on top of the Liberator and it seems to fit fine. If it sits it fits with SC, it seems, regardless of the size pad in the description. @@Farrister
@@Farristerpark it in a deadspace. Eva between ships and you got yourself an awesome stationless game play loop.
I would forget about the roc and keep it in space.
I would think......and ive been told it not one of my strong points, that, The Liberator has a varied set of options open to it, i like the choices and how it can be interspersed into differing game loops, Groups/Orgs would find at least 2 uses, and i do see it set to increase in size and price. I will grab a CCU for now
mine is sitting and waiting in the hanger, I can't wait!
But you'll have to :D
@@Farrister such torture!
this ship NEEDS to be a priority to develop, this fits many roles for single or multi crew ship that no other can do,its right in the middle of greatness . HAZAA
But might be a bit complicated to have the landing pads "work" rather than just work
If the 600i rework doesn't go to my taste it's getting CCU'ed to this lady. As a cargo guy this ship would give me lots of unique options.
Well the Liberator isn't available in game yet, so we'll just have to see what it's like!
im interested in how the magnetic locking (assume) of the ships on the platforms work? could you for example have a lot of fury fighters, far more than the 2-4 its supposed to carry and have a swarm function? that could prove very deadly and cool. worry is would all of them lock down and sit there during flight, quantum etc?
I suppose only time will tell. You'd need a lot of friends for that many Fury fighters!
The community wants this ship! tbh i love how it looks, Lol
So it would seem!
You missed the most important configuration : filling the top pads with Nova tanks and be a big ship killing machine :D
Ah, I have failed in my duty to the Novatonk
On kinda surprising thing is there really aren't any quarters for "passengers" they really should have something to keep them entertained and not causing problems.
Really hope we see it sooner rather than later.
I think there are. They're on the opposite side as the cockpit.
there are, the upper floor is reserved for the crew only connected via lifts which in the future should limit access, while the lower floor for passengers has jumpseats, suit- and storage lockers as well as a bathroom and a docking collar. The ship is not designed for longterm missions so there are no living quarters or a kitchen for the passengers.
I'd love to walk around this ship
I want this ship as my mobile home base. Not to mention to work as a taxi moving peoples ships and ground vehicles to and from other systems for a price.
For sure!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely agree!
What about Medical usage? Or long range exploration/recconaisance?
Do you think it might have a medical use? No beds aboard...
@@Farrister That's true. Hmm I was thinking if it could hold a couple of medical pisces, maybe a Cutlass Red, or that other medical ship they refer to?
Our org plans on using them as mobile mining base of operations and transport.
Good use case, I think!
im gonna use this as a forward operating base, a home away from home
Might be a good choice for that!
It will be the only ship that can move the MVP base building spartan.
Surely a Hercules could?
Pads are supposed to be 2 XS pads, 1 XXS pad and 2 medium vehicle.
Thanks, I updated comment :) I'm not sure I understand how though, given the dimensions of the ship!
One of my goals is to fit a bunch of tanks on top and go broadside an Idris.
Do you think the tanks will be effective versus an Idris?
@@Farrister Don't care. Rule of cool. But probably. They are effective against other ships.
i cant wait for the Liberator, but hope to see the 600i rework 1st.
A few ships need that rework!
Hopefully this is ready not long after Pyro comes into the game. Fingers crossed for ‘25.
Did you test Pyro yet? It seems mostly there, the big question for me is when will it work alongside Stanton, rather than as standalone
It's the Escort Carrier that I wanted in Elite Dangerous.
:D
My question is, is there a med bay?
Doesn't seem so
I like heavily narrated slide shows talking about fictional space ships and i cannot lie.
Take my like, for somebody who listened completely!
this ship is supposed to release with pyro. heres hoping to a 2025 release. going to cram the upper deck with manned ballistas and wreck some people haha. lets hope cig makes a med bed variant or adds a few more bunk meds and a med bed in it. lets hope it has the most armor out of any ship so far because it looks like it does. lets hope you will have to physically move all of your small ships to pyro when you make the move from stanton instead of just being able to spawn them at pyro once you travel there in a large ship. I want that feeling of being forced to traverse long dangerous distances with all my gear aboard the liberator.
2025? :(
Honestly if this was IRL instead of a game I would turn that into a mobile home or even ground it to turn into a proper home.
Totally!
It's a tough balancing act, the Liberator to me doesn't so much seem to be a combat ship per se, it's a transporter.
That would be cool, if they all fit! We'll have to see about components, it may well change before release
