So when Tyrande takes a vial of magic water and pours into a lake its fine, but when Illidan does it he gets a life sentence? Hardly seems fair...
I think there is a difference between the last waters of darnassus and water from the well of eternity

To be fair, it's not what they did its WHY they did it.
Illidan was trying to recreate the well of eternity, which the legion had previously used as a doorway into Azeroth.
The dragon aspects had to gather together and use their magic to counteract any influence from the legion and make it safe, but they could only do that because he didn't use ALL the water he stole.
He gave 2 more vials to Dath'remar to create the Sunwell of Quel'thalas. Which, due to the legions' power from the original well, made the high elves incredibly addicted to magic.
And because of said influence, Kael, after he went bonkers, tried to use its power to summon Kil'jaeden.
That's different though. This was only symbolism of bringing last piece of home into the new one. Elune is always with Nightelves so its not like they would lose Elune blessing without it. And Darnassus was being destroyed so its not like they were stealing. It was theirs and they preserved last piece of it.
@@meiru2453 You mean like how the High Elves were trying to preserve a single piece of their culture and the one who did it in an effort to save everyone was basically called a Nazi and thrown in a cell meanwhile we do the same thing here, just in this case it's all women, thus it's okay. Imagine how powerful Ysera's return and goodbye would have been if she had been an active and proactive character throughout Dragonflight whom we liked.
Instead she did nothing, was an excuse to almost fridge Malfurion making us have THE Emerald dream patch without him (that's like having a wrath of the lich king expansion without Arthas). Her character was a complete joke and players are actually happy to see her leave since we will finally get Malfurion back.
With such incompetent writers I don't have high expectations of the upcoming STORY DRIVEN trilogy.
Steve Danuser needs to be fired, the damage he has done to the Warcraft IP is massive. Even if he wasn't the one that did all the bad story directions, he is still the one who approved it and the one responsible.
Idk at this point I just watch these recaps and I have no idea who that kfc tauren is, or why tree nelf exist. Also the writing als lines are like my 7 Yr old would've written them lol.

Thanks for uploading these clips, I don't play WoW anymore but I like to follow the story line. That said, the story does feel a bit 'exhausted' at this point, in the past WoW clips had this epic feel to them, now they just feel like they're trying (and failing) to keep a convoluted story together.
Shadowlands’ plot was a mess and unsatisfying to many players, and they’re trying to pick up the pieces from it, unfortunately. If I’m honest I think the only thing that could salvage WoW’s story fully is a soft reboot, starting at BFA or WOD, if not earlier.
@@NightTheKittenn I agree. There isn't much that they can do to save the story after shadowlands. The only way to write a good warcraft story at this point would be to do a reboot as well as hire new writers because the current ones don't seem to care. They can't write new good characters, and the existing characters are so boring now.
@@ownyounext That why they brought back Chris Metzen. He wrote everything up to the BFA. Then BFA and Shadowlands were done by someone else. The War within should of took place right after Legion if they didn't push him out of blizzard for money.
@@elkitesaga999War within should’ve taken place after BfA cuz it would’ve at least made the plot of Azeroth being a world soul much more connected than going from Sargeras, to the frozen throne, then out of nowhere going to De Other Side.
I played through a good bit of Dragonflight and the story was actually pretty good up until (imo) the Dreamsurge patch. Essentially the prior patch had Vyranoth basically tell Alexstrasza that revenge is all the she wants, and then in the next patch she sides with the Dragonflights after like, 2 quests. I personally feel that they fumbled the end of the expansion by rushing things. You were told during the first raid that the Incarnates were able to rival the Aspects w/ their Aspectral Powers thus them being out was essentially multiple Deathwings with Iridikron honestly feeling like a stand-in for Deathwing as he was cited as the "morally worst" of the Primals... then he leaves.
Dragonflight felt like it was supposed to be before Cataclysm, but it couldn't be since the point of the expansion was the dragons returning and the Aspects getting their powers back. Not a bad expansion, I'd ague it gave me MoP vibes when it came to the lore being really nicely done and the zones being honestly breathtaking. Kind of happy I left during the Dreamsurge pack bc I would have been irate at this ending that feels out of left field for the expansion.

is it just me or does Khadgar's voice lines sound a bit strange? Like it sounds edited or something.
The characters arent even reacting when they feel a new threat incoming the second after they defeated the present foe. Just like "yeah we deal with the new thing tomorrow".
Each expansion and storyline is rushed. There are so many threats in so many levels over and over again. No build ups. This universe of Azeroth is expanding beyond its own good.
This has been an issue for a while to be honest, WoW never really had a good way of telling and showing decent progression in story since Classic/TBC. WoTLK is an exception for me but everything past that feels rushed or slightly disjointed. Chris Metzen and Ian Hazzikostas recently were interviewed and brought up the issue of how story is told and the way it can feel odd.
Now as for if the story will get better? Maybe it could with this change, but I'm not entirely sure yet since War Within isn't out yet.

But if not, Illidan took the "water" from the Well of Eternity which would attract the legion again and have some corrupting influence on its users again. Here, Tyrande collected moon water of the temple of Elune which is more like holy water than anything. So the stakes and the risks are 0 this time. But yeah the parallel has to be made

It is a little different. Azeroth is still a world-soul, and the Titan Pantheon believe Azeroth to potentially be the strongest Titan in existence should she be born. So while yes, Azeroth posses the power of a Titan, she is not a member of the same Pantheon that originally bestowed the dragons with their aspectral powers.

@@a1pha_star it's so true. The blessing/curse of having a successful, long running franchise is you get more time to tell more story, but the story inevitably becomes extremely convoluted. Marvel has the same problem. WoW desperately needs a questline with Chromie that allows the player to run through a high-level overview of the overarching story so far. It could work like the early Legion quests used to where you it's basically a "queue" and you can play through the story with other players on the same steps as you while not quite making it a "dungeon" or "raid" group. Dumb down all the last bosses in the major raids and make them just quick fights to show what happened. Just an idea anyway, probably a better way to do it.
Azeroth isn't your run-of-the-mill titan.
When Ysera had to go back, my very first thought was how pissed I was that this meant Malfurion had to come back. Granted, it's been a lot of years, but I seem to remember it was him being all mad and chasing off after the satyr that led to Ysera being killed. I've hated him ever since. Keep on napping in your little bear booties, dude.

@@Doomroar think OP just forgot Vyranoth is still around since she changed sides... but yeah by all accounts she still is a primal incarnate even with Azeroth's blessing (she didnt go through any physical transformation unlike the original aspects when they received the blessing of the titans)

@@Dragnmastralex "overworked champion" this is so true, I dont even know why our character is even there when most of the plot and dialouges never even mention the player, yet the player is the one doing the works. Guildwar and SWTOR did a good job in putting the player in the center of the story.

game is now so old and even in 2022 and 2023 they not in the position to give main characters legendery character other animations when they talk haha nice, and why ysera goes now ? i have think with this trailer or stuf time time back she is back from the death ?!

The art is very beatifull but this is all skin deep because the story here is underwhelming just like the Marvel movies made this year .
20 fucking years and NPCs still just yap their jaws randomly for 2 seconds and then stand there awkwardly for all dialog in cut scenes. It's just embarrassing how bad cut scenes are in this game. They went out of their way to make the mouth movements as inaccurate and unsynced from dialogue as possible, all while looking really stupid. At least they occasionally have decent ones...
I've said for years now that Blizz could spend a portion of their ridiculous money to make every major story-related cutscene between characters in the quality of their ridiculous CGI cutscenes they use in trailers and such and it would make the game 500x better for it. But nah - they prefer to just make every cutscene an in-game cartoony conversation and only use their weapons-grade CGI for expac trailers.
