poetic justice? there wasn't any justice in this game. The Giants got absolutely screwed out of a 107 win season because the worst umpire call ever decided to make the moment about himself. No one, not even Max Scherzer cares about 12'. least watched world series pre-covid, and no one remembers it outside of the detroiters who got swept. this ending was nothing short of a tragedy
the giants just got payback for that terrible call in the regular season which was clearly a swing. there wouldve a game 163 but yeah that was a terrible call

Subtract the bad calls and LA definitely wins the regular season game, but SF is still down by a run with 2 out in the 9th.
As a giants fan, this was an absolute spectacular series. Hard fought few nail biters. But in the end, the dodgers won the war. Even though the check swing call to Flores was bad. When Wade struck out I just knew it was over. Hope this rivalry heads to chapter 2 next season. In 2020 NLDS Padres were NO match for the dodgers getting blown out and swept. Giants made the dodgers fight and got SOOOO close to winning but just couldn’t capitalize on anything and dodgers could.
Beautiful series, pretty sure it was a matchup everyone loved very much. The ending was pretty embarrassing. But, regardless, it was a very fun series to watch. Great video, as always!

As a dodger fan, I have the utmost respect for the giants. They had one of the greatest seasons ever and aren’t a fake ass team like someone else in the division. Assuming everyone is healthy and their pitchers continue to strive, I definitely see this rivalry having a chapter 2 next season

I’m here during the lockout, man this series was intense!! The season between the Giants and Dodgers was so evenly matched all year long. I’m a Dodgers fan but huge respect to the Giants. I don’t know how the teams will matchup now with no Posey or Seager, who knows maybe Kershaw doesn’t come back. But man this season was a huge success for both teams.
Well, it sucks, That’s just an understatement, but the dodgers just could capitalize in game 5, when the giants could not. Pitching carried giants game 3 and 5 we needed the game 1 offense but we just didn’t have that.

Especially Tyler Matzek, my God, he mowed down Pujols, Souza Jr., and Mookie like they were nobodies. Outside of A.J. Pollock and Chris Taylor (you can add a few at-bats from Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger if you want) the Dodgers just sputtered offensively. I will say this regarding Dave Roberts: using a bullpen session in game 5 against the Giants was a great plan. Doing it again in game 1 of the NLCS was ok, too, but burning Julio Urias in game 2 for some bullpen work was silly, considering he was gonna start a game in Dodger Stadium later in the series y'all needed him as fresh as possible. That's not smart on Roberts's part. It also didn't help the Dodgers that Max Scherzer couldn't start game 6 and Walker Buehler was forced to start on short(er) rest, which makes me wonder if the Dodgers did win game 6 and forced game 7 who'd would open that game. Probably Corey Knebel again...who knows. That decision I don't fault him for; after all, Buehler didn't do that bad except for the eventual series clinching HR by Eddie Rosario.

Game 3 may have been played in one of the fiercest winds in postseason baseball history. Knocked down Lux's game ending fly ball but the Giants had to hit into the same wind.
As a Dodger fan, I honestly don’t care how they won. They still won. I was living in SF at the time so it was extra sweet. My job at the time didn’t allow me to wear andy Dodger gear on game days but allowed everyone else to wear Giants gear. So the day after the win, I was decked out in Dodger gear and I loved seeing everyone’s smug faces.
Even though we ended up winning it all this season, I can’t help but think that this Dodgers team was the best Dodgers team (on paper) in this run they’ve had of making the playoffs. Just so stacked everywhere
What ticks me off as a Giants fan is not that check swing call but the fact that the eventual winning run reached on a hit batsman and was driven in by someone who hit .165 in the regular season.

In all the negotiations lately maybe relax reviewable plays in the playoffs. Obviously im a Giants fan but this is when they matter the most

In the regular season final game between these two teams, it was the Giants who got the call when and OBVIOUS swing was called a check swing, allowing the Giants to come back and win the game and, ultimately, the NL West. Karma can sometimes be a beautiful thing.

I am glad the dodgers won this series to get back at the Giants for stealing there division title from them. But its a shame we couldn't use Scherzer after this series. But It was totally worth it to eliminate the Giants.
