This video is quite misleading, removing the back cover is much harder than shown here ! On my SM-T719 it is also glued to the frame and no plastic spudger or suction cup would easily remove it. It takes a lot of heat, IPA and one damaged corner to finally remove it. Moreover some of the clips will break in the process (the black plastic chip shown in this video) and when the tablet is reassembled it will be a lot squeakier than before.

Oh no, that sucks!! As you can see, I didn't have those problems with my model of the unit. I don't believe my video is mis-leading, I think there are a few variations of the design. Sorry you struggled. Best, Howard

eBay is where I got mine from :-). There are many sources, look at the seller feedback

I'm not able to get anything into the separation between the back cover and the trim. It is a very tight joint. I have ordered your spudger, but not here yet. Have received a set of opening tools which contain a pry tool. But doesn't work. Any suggestions please? Would heating it up help? I have a SM T713. The Tab S2 is a great tablet, but can not get the back to come off. Any idea on how to replace it?

Mine came off quite easily... be careful with heat! Hope youve got it sorted now!

Well, I did remove the back cover and replaced the battery and even didn't brake anything - no cracks, no nothing. But putting the cover back is a bit annoying. It does not snap in place as I hoped. It stays in place but doesn't have a solid grip. And to turn the device on, I have to squeeze around the power button to make the contacts close. The only solution here I see, to glue the back cover to the body. Has anyone have an idea of what glue should I use? Or perhaps other tips on how to put thing together...

Ohhh shoot... well... what went wrong?!? ... did you damage the clips!!? ... mine popped back into place no problem

@@DubiousEngineering I've seen people getting to the battery from the front by removing digitizer. Perhaps that is the right way to do it although much harder :(
I'm going to glue it somehow together anyway.

Hey Austin... that’s exactly what I’m doing... I just upgraded to iPad Pro and am selling all my old stuff to help offset the cost!... this wind and rain is a little scary!

Yeah... maybe too many extensions... or one of the extensions doesn’t have a screen... I noticed afterwards in post process and couldn’t do much about it.. thanks for telling me, I’ll try to get it sorted, hope it wasn’t too distracting!

    Nothing dubious about that.

Perhaps a plastic spudger would be less likely to cause internal damage... but yes... I’m selling all my older pads and stuff on eBay to help offset the purchase of the iPad Pro... which I have fallen in love with (if only for 3D modelling in shapr3D) :-). All the best to NZ :-)
