Intellectually he was one of the only or the only person that could match up to mycroft this actually fits.

this is the first time I’ve seen this ship but omg THIS EDIT IS AMAZING. I especially loved the bit where magnussen says “I own Johns wife I own mycroft”. It was so unexpected but so fitting. And I do in fact ship this now.
Omg thank you so much! When I was watching season3 I actually thought if Moriarty was a villain created to be the opposite of Sherlock, then Magnussen (well, at least the Magnussen in this TV series) would just have to be the one created for Mycroft. They have similar interests (in politics), share the same playing field, are both control freaks, and I believe they actually think alike-or at least play by the same rules. It’s quite obvious that Magnussen is an opponent that Mycroft can understand and vice versa. So all things considered, my traitorous brain just came up with the conclusion that they must be a good match xD it would be interesting if they actually enjoyed their battle (and each other’s company), yet that tiny flicker of emotion would still be smothered by Magnussen’s thirst to overpower Mycroft, and Mycroft’s priority in his country and family.
I’m so glad that I’ve managed to bring someone into this ship >< (In fact, had also written some fan fictions for this ship but never quite finished them) And btw, yes, night fury, YES. Can never say no to toothless uwu
@@crutchesdobark oh my gosh. WOW. I never noticed the similarities!! I absolute adore this idea that mycroft and magnussen are supposed to be reflections of each other just like Sherlock/moriarty. And hahaha I agree, I don’t think this ship would work out in canon for a multitude of reasons. The obvious one you mentioned being magnussen’s desire to overpower mycroft probably outweighing any other emotions. The other being Sherlock. He’d be against this 100% (for mycroft’s sake but he’d never admit it). But hey, that’s why we have fanfics 😂😂 I’d love to read yours if you’re planning on posting them?
@@crutchesdobark ALSO. this take on the mycroft/magnussen parallel further explains why mycroft was so hesitant in letting Sherlock get involved with him. Like “little bro, you got your own villain, let me deal with mine”

This is perfect, I would like to ask, what program you used to edit this video, and how you can add the words behind the character in the video?
i used adobe premiere pro for this vid, but i'm recently switching to after effects (or actually a combination of these two - i had just uploaded a new video edited with after effects, go check it out if you're interested:] )
and abt how to add words behind characters: usually you can just duplicate the layer you want to edit, put one copy directly above the text, then create a mask to show the text below. it would be better explained with a video tutorial, here's one that popped up on my search: ua-cam.com/video/h9CheDd0tXM/v-deo.html there should be plenty more of these tutorials on youtube, just search "text reveal" or "mask" and you'll probably see what you're looking for! :]
