The pain eases a little over time, but a big piece of your heart will always be with your child. Cherish the time you did have with your baby-noone can ever take that away from you!! So very precious. But why was the baby being handled w/o gloves. Maybe Im missing something here and I certainly dont want to insinuate someone was very careless. I just cant imagine it was ok to handle this vunerable infant w/ o gloves....to prevent germs and infection.
They wash their hands and practice good hygiene. It's not always necessary for them yo wear gloves when handling the baby. Also human touch can do wonders for preemies. They need that physical contact after a certain point which is why kangaroo care is so important.

I too lost my baby, not a stillbirth or premature but a condition which is easily fixed and was overlooked. The pain never goes away.
