When Tata introduced the product in the market, they attracted customers thru their top notch and unique TV commercials with Mozart symphony 25 BGM and of course watches with high class and elegant look. Even watching those commercials made us smile 😀

There was no tie up with Casio Watch Co by Titan watches. Titan Watches had collaboration with a French watch Company called "France Ebauches (FE)" in the initial period of 5 years. I was one of the first batch of Engineers and we got trained in FE and also in machines manufacturers locations in Swiss. I worked for 30 years and retired from Titan.

I have been visiting various watches, watch jewels mfg cos in France, Switzerland and in Europe. Besides this I was supplying diamond tools to hmt, PA Pinions ( watch parts make) in Simla and diamond polishing powder to Swiss cos. A few errors in the video. HMT and Allwyn were the two leading companies. Allwyn had collaboration with Seiko and HMT had collaboration with Citizen. TIDCO had signed collaboration with France Ebauches for manufacturing movements before approaching Tata group. TATA group had in the past owned a watch brand called Hegde and Golay. The TATA company which invested in Hegde and Golay was known as Questar India. Hegde and Golay closed down because they could not compete with HMT and Allwyn. Later when Iravatham Mahadevan who was Managing Director of TIDCO, and not secretary as this gentleman is stating, was in TATA press to print one of his books, suggested to Mr. Xerxes Desai to enter the watch business. So, Questar India, was revived and they signed up with TIDCO. Initially, the movements were being manufactured in Hosur in collaboration with France Ebauches. The cases were being imported from Hongkong. It was much later that Titan signed a collaboration with Casio to manufacture watch cases. Later Titan also signed up a deal with Hirsch watch straps to manufacture watch straps. The errors are glaring and the video does not convey the correct picture. I know this information because I was an employee of Titan during the project stage and also when the first watch was launched.

Moreover they bought Favre leuba watch brand in 2011 and they were unable to develop the brand to next level and sold it again to Indian brand ethos watch company. So what we learned from this, they don’t possess any expertise in watch hence they fail.

You are talking as if you are a brand ambassador of Titan watches. Also you mentioned wrongly that prior to Titan watches, Japanese brands watches had been sold secretly and this is totally a wrong information and bullshit talking. All watches back then were being sold and until date it is happening legally by the watch dealers across the nation. Please check your facts thoroughly before you speak. Moreover you didn’t speak about relationships of Titan with Timex which got broke later due to poor performance at the Titan side. Also the contributing factor is Titan watches are not quality ones and that is the reason why they are unable to sell globally. Without knowing and having any perspective on watches, you started talking about watches. Crazy!
