I bet those shims are factory. a Every Gretsch neck removal I've seen ( well 4 actually) has half a ridiculously loose neck joint that seems to be packed up with whatever scrap was lying on the floor. A good friend took the neck out of an old rancher and it had a piece of corrugated cardboard in there. l kid you not.

I've found business cards which I'm sure wasn't factory.

Check the pot codes they arebusually pretty close to the build date.
@@CAWilson58 the headstock of the guitar said THE CHET ATKINS COUNTRY GENTLEMAN and have a number 66105. I don’t know if it’s the serial number.
