I'm now doing a lot of propagation. As we are now going into spring.most of my plants are now semi hydro.they are loving it from New Zealand. Your videos are awesome, thank you
I really like Bonide, only thing I say is if your using it don’t breath it in when your watering it in, it’s dusty. 💚 Nice 10, the Grazel really needs the humidity.
I’ve been using bonide granules for Atleast 5 years, I used to buy it on Amazon, I have kids and pets and just teach the kids not to eat the soil or plants. But there has been no Ill effect on any plants so far and I have over 200…. I suggest it first if u can find it. I love it.
I've used Bonide many times and find it to be very effective and not harsh on my plants. It can be sprinkled on top of the soil but I like to add it to my soil mix when I make up a new batch. That way the systemic is applied throughout the root system.
I’ve been using bonide for awhile now. I have pets, two kids and a lot of plants too. It hasn’t changed anything for me. Except helping with thrips, but remember using any pesticide you need to switch it up or else they will become resistant. The only think I won’t do, is put it on plants that are outside because it can harm beneficial insects (just like any pesticide, neem included). You want the water from their drainage pot to sit in the excess water for a little bit (I never dump it) so it can get it all. However, systemic should be a preventative. If you have an infestation, other methods should be used as well. ❤️ Azmax is also a great option that works well as a systemic (you water your plants with it). Loved all your beautiful babies! Hope you’re doing well love! ❤️ Just wear gloves when you repot. Some even wear a mask, but you should be wearing a mask when using all of the products (pon, leca, perlite, etc). As you should wear gloves when using some growing substrates.
Hi Amy. I do use the Bonide Systemic granules. Mostly when I first pot the plant before I water it. I sprinkle it on using a condiment squeeze bottle that you can get off Amazon or Walmart. It makes it way easier to apply. Anyway, then I water it in. I think I may have had thrips one or two times in 3 years. In addition though, if I see anything on a plant I spray it down with the Bonide Insecticidal Soap and let it dry. Hope this helps.
@@Wolfgangsmama No, not unless it is one that has sap like my Ficus Elasticas or is a very toxic plant like a Dieffenbachia. I do wear them when I spray them down with the soap so I can get all of the plant soaked and not my hands. 💚
Lovely plants Amy, we are going to spring in NZ so getting excited to do a lot of repotting replanting. I look forward to your videos and you are in looking after yourself. Always take care till the next video.
I have used Bonide and had MANY of the same worries you did. My only issue is that it takes kind of long to apply, especially when you have a sizable collection, and it took me 4 bottles (following the directions for amount) to get through my entire collection. Other than that, I didn’t have any issues for over 2 years using it. Becca (de la Plants) recommended a natural systemic called SNS 209, and it is a liquid form, so I can even use it in my LECA plants. This was the main reason I was looking for a new systemic. Take a look! It’s so safe you can even use it on edible plants. I wish I could include a pic of the bottle haha. It says “Safe around children and pets when used as directed.”
I use it all yer long and I buy alot at once so i can add enough to my bag of soil or bin and i keep some around for the plants that isnt ready i just put on top and mix it in alil with a chop stick when im watering its been super helpful and havent seen and harmful effects with my plants or pets myself or children.. good luck thanks for the video
Love the anthuriums. They are both on my wishlist! Thanks for sharing your plants. Beautiful as always. Glad that taking care of your plants is making your happy.
I know Bonide is becoming available in Canada through (I'm guessing) growers that are licensed to use it and are selling small amounts by the ounce (this is what it has come to!) and I have really considered using it but in the end decided against it. It's banned in Canada for personal growers for a reason and I really just didn't want to change the fauna and flora in our neighbourbood in any way. I can't see a way to make sure that not a drop goes down the drain and once it gets into the water system it can impact the environment. I think for us there is an added complication because we are on well water and septic system so we need the bugs to help that system work and with the leaching beds, it would def. reach the pollinators. Just my thoughts. I know how challenging pest management can be so I completely understand why people use it.
hey hon, thanks for the feedback! I decided against it based on what you said and also because we are still trying to get pregnant again and I don't want to have any addtional toxins near us!
OMG! All of your plants are gorgeous, healthy and absolutely amazing! You are so fortunate to have such a fabulous collection!
OH thank you so much! Believe many are not so healthy and beautiful!😆
