I sold my house in Ripton Vermont in 2021 and moved into my van and traveled out west looking for a smaller place, like a tiny home village or possibly an intentional community. If I new of one in Vermont I would have checked it out before I left. Vermont is a great state.
You always see videos entitled, "The Biggest Challenges of Living in an Intentional Community". It's always the people. You have to find healthy people and you also have to be this way. I want to start a "holistic health" ecovillage with responsible, moderate, intelligent people. How hard is it to find them? lol. It's comical to say the least.
Very cool work you are doing. I grew up in the suburbs of Boston and have spent some time at Living Tree and Retribe. Eventually hopping to settle into a community with my partner and daughter somewhere in New England.
So glad you’ve continued to listen to your heart and follow your passion! Can really relate to your story of not being understood by your family. Will definitely look into your offerings further
Great video, thanks for sharing your journey, inspiring. A few months ago I took an IC online class that you were the facilitator. Good luck with your new Community Finders service.
Why don't we have THOUSANDS of communities like Findhorn? Been living in the Mohave desert in AZ for a quarter century with 4 acres and can't find anyone who wants to live here. Now I'm OLD (66) and I can't afford to pay for and maintain my unfinished house and little oasis in the desert. About 80% MAGA voters in Mohave County. Poverty and misery. And even with D governor Hobbs I can't get on Obamacare and she refuses to distribute the federal COVID unemployment $300/week Ducey (R) refused. The funds are still available at the Dept of Labor until Trump takes office. Have no choice but to try to get my place ready for sale and with Trump back, I'm considering taking the money and moving out of state (2 of my acres are about a mile away and I was going to move there.) Did some research, the lowest minimum income is $1,000/month to get a permanent visa in other countries. And I have a pig and a dog, so that's difficult. Thinking about the Cal. Mojave desert. Who wants to chip in to buy a square mile and kick some ass? Just tried that community finder quiz and it's so weird to have to choose. It's ALL the options, like in Findhorn.
I'm wondering the same. I grew up in the Philippines, in a very tight knit community from the time I was 6 til I was 30. Just a group of 3-12 families that happen to be neighbors and care deeply about each other. Now in my mid 30s, living in US (& possibly moving to Europe soon), I really miss having that community. While I'm not quite ready to go back to Philippines yet, I wonder if there are intentional communities I can join there eventually. Or if I can possibly revive my old community when a lot of people especially from my generation have moved out already.
I don't know of specific communities in the Philippines. But check out these directories and there may be something: communityfinders.com/community-directories/
Just be very careful everyone that you don't get yourself into a cult situation. Do plenty of research and hopefully you'll find the perfect fit for you 🤍
