What is an Evertonian ? What is an Everton fan......? A real fan ? Someone who may not have the greatest wealth , a kid who works part time ,paper round ,gardening etc etc to get the money to go to the match. A kid who can not afford the bus or train fare yet hitchhikes to away games in the rain and snow ,freezing cold and hungry returning in the dark late at night .
Becoming an adult abit more affluent , can afford a seat in the stands , now provides travel for others to see the team home and away .
That's an Everton fan and that's the type of fan that will give Rafa a chance and backing .
Everton are a small club and they are lucky to get a manager who has won things

Didn't recognise Richard Keys on this video at first, he got chatting to me once in a leisure centre changing room, it was the days when he was on TVAM, I recognised him, but i didn't let on i knew who he was, he chatted for quite some time, i remember when he removed his shirt, you could not imagine how hairy he is on his chest, hairy is an understatement, he clearly waxes his arms now because he had thick hair on his arms and the backs of his hands!

He won the CL & FA cup at Liverpool (FA cup was in 2006), with relatively very weak squads. He also got to another CL final and was 4 points off winning the league in 08/09 (no Liverpool manager for 30 years managed to win the league so I don’t see how that makes him a failure?) Liverpool were in the top 4 every season he was there apart from his last. It took Liverpool 4 years & 3 different managers after he left to reach it again, where we didn’t even get past the group stage, nor finish in the top 4 for another 2 years.
He massively improved Chelsea, inheriting a team low in the table and finished a solid 3rd with a Europa League trophy in less than a season (another major trophy, won in 2013).
He was only at Real Madrid for a few months so winning the league there was impossible (same with Inter, Inter were awful for years after he left so he clearly wasn’t the problem).
Napoli weren’t expected to win the league!
You also failed to mention his amazing work at Newcastle, where he clearly did “build a squad”.

This an amazing appointment any fan who’s still bitter about 2005 should grow up and stop contributing to this bitter small club mentality that’s plaguing our beloved football club. Rafa is an amazing manager who unlike Carlo knows how to build a team. If he does well and wins trophies at Goodson Park do you know how much that will piss the Kopites off? Those ''hairy hands'' seem to have disappeared! someone has talked him into waxing. saw him in a leisure centre changing room in the days when he was presenting TVAM, he got chatting to me, but i didn't let on i recognised him, when he removed his shirt, it wasn't just 'hairy hands', he had the hairiest body you could imagine, covered in thick hair, even his entire arms. Didn't recognise him in this video at first, very different from TVAM days.

I am a Liverpool supporter so have to make that clear because Rafa will always be loved by most rightminded reds, but there is such a lot of confusion around this appointment and the tribal hotbloodedness is just making it worse. The small club thing has been explained so a child could understand it, so why Gray and Keys still cannot is anyones guess. Next the idea, the very nerve, that Rafa is not good enough for Everton beggars belief. What he did at Chelsea, how he salvaged NUFC from utter ruin and led them up, the fact that he won the biggest trophies in world football, something Everton could only dream of let alone boast, means its an insult to the great man. I am sure he will do a fabulous job, will not run off at the first sign of Real like Carlo and will get the best out of Evertons under performing primadonnas, or show them the door. They should be thanking their lucky stars they are not being managed by the likes of Tim Sherwood.
