Amazing to see how many came to the resort from Cumbria and Carlisle. I wonder how long the season was. Nice rendition of Sailing By. Remarkable collection of pictures. Presence of RAF station must have underpinned the local economy. All the attractions of a well-mannered town at its zenith unlike some we know in Lancashire.
Great once again! Don't you dare do the IOM yet....what about all of the small outlying villages/areas around Silloth the places that are changing so much that we will never see again!. That lovely walk around the coastal path past the old air raid shelter, West Newton, the coastal road leads to a village with a small bridge over a stream etc etc! I am moving back!
Thanks John really enjoyed your video. It bought back memories of trips to Silloth in the 60s.. Loved the music too. Looking forward to Part 3. Regards Liz.
I can remember getting the train to silloth as a young boy half of carlisle was in the west silloth sand dunes happy days
