It's fantastic isn't it. The stuff that's preserved and looked after is brilliant, but even better is the stuff abandoned and lost in time for a century or more.
Its stunning around Cromford & surrounding area isnt it Paul, so much to see & do, like you said enough for snother video or maybe a few next year. Have to do Crich museum as well! ❤😊
Our late spaniel used to drink the water out the trough near black rocks used to be like a puppy after that great explore not really been on that bit for a few years now but have ridden on the steeple grange railway 👍
I wonder if the tap in front of black rocks toilets is from the same pipe? 😄. I'm really looking forward to visiting the little railway when it opens again next year
Most interesting ep so far. Between Sheep Pasture Too & Middleton Bottom, I'd get a bit of speed up on the bike and consequently, I missed exploring all the branches that you found.... Must make the effort and return on foot!
Cheers Russ. I've developed a fascination for this line recently. I suspect that connection was severed many many decades ago before it was quarried. Could do with more older maps 😄
Great to watch-- Going to matlock at some point for some railway walks... keep the Top videos coming mate...Drone shots really help with seeing whats going on....
An fine walking tour today! Thanks for for having me along. See you on the next! Cheers Paul! ❤😊
Cheers Martin. Glad you enjoyed it. All the best.
beautiful scenery around that part of the world 👍 with some fantastic walking trails and amazing history 😊 thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you.
It ticks all the boxes for stunning scenery and history doesn't it.
Fascinating part of the world.
There was a siding for the quarry ahead of Sheep Pasture. The shed was for the shunters and crew.
Must have bee a very busy place in it's heyday. Wonderful it's all still there. Thanks Paul, cheers mate.

The chimney type structure at Black Rocks is connected to the lead mine. The metal grill just beside it is a deep shaft, oval in shape & stone lined.
Great stuff really interesting again didnt realise how many quarries and lines they were thanx for sharing Paul.
Cheers Chris. Just scratching the surface for quarry lines. Loads more incoming 😉

A very underrated section. I'd like to go back and have a closer look at a few more things on there.
Loving this series Paul. Must have been a long time ago the Wirksworth connection went. That map definitely shows a connection

Really interesting area that. Makes me wish I’d not done the whole 17 mile trail in one day and missed all the interesting bits along the way!
Haha in one go? Blimey. That sounds like a nice challenge one day. How did you get back to the other end?
@@WobblyRunner Mrs and the kids came to pick me up. I think I had to get a bus then taxi to starting point. Crazy plan looking back!
