- this time its the airfix p51 and what a kit it was
the newer tooling and decals really shine with this kit so sit back and watch how i build, paint and fit the decals to make this mustang one of the best airfix kits i have done for a long time
a big shout out to eddie bird who warned me about the aerial and the air intake in advance
this is also one of the kits i got in a mystery bundle earlier this year

Hiya mate, thanks for the shout out, my solution for the air intake is to re-enforce it from the inside with a little super glue before removing the flash as for the aerial i use a bit of the sprue (the flat part which has spue A on it sanded smooth) it works every time🐥.
I never seem to save most aerials unless they are well made because cleaning the to look good always ends up with them snapping
Wow, Beautiful Upload friend. keep it up. Thank you for sharing this to us. Greetings from Korea
thanks and greetings from great britain
Great job Yorkshire Man - I’m in the middle of the 1/48 version, but gonna have to stop as I’ve no metallic paint. Cheers Liam
thats happend to me more times than i can remember and have to wait a few days for paint to come in the post
usually end up starting another kit while waiting
@@yorkshiremanmodels yep that’s the plan 🤣

Thanks mate, i don't think even someone with skills of Plasmo could rescue the aerial 🐥.
Nice looking build, well done mate.
thanks
Nice ride 👍
thanks
I found the exact same thing, the air intake is incredibly fragile and flashy and the ariel is terribly fragile too. Overwise it is a smashing kit and I enjoyed making mine.
It's only a small issue that the rest of the quality of the kit more than makes up for
Glad to see you enjoyed yours as much as I did 🙂
I have built several of these and my solution is to renforce the air intake from inside the intake with a little super glue before removing the flash, it works every time.
@@yorkshiremanmodelsanother great little kit...built 2 of them
@@jaws666 love the p51
@@yorkshiremanmodels did this "Red Tails" boxing and the green /gray R.A.F. camo scheme starter set with the sharks mouth decals
Have you built any of the Arma Model Mustangs and if so, how do they compare to this Airfix kit?
sorry no i havent
was tempted to buy one a while ago but it was £20 and that was quite a lot i thought for a 1/72 scale model
will have to look into them and see if they are worth a go
@@yorkshiremanmodels, they are rather expensive, I agree. Especially considering the scale, I wonder if it won't be an example of diminishing returns in terms of detail?
@@Chilly_Billy yes probably but as with most of the items in this hobby cheap isnt always the best
