He's told me that he already had a project for whenever he was better, and the other day while watching MotorTrend he told me about how he wanted to get himself a plasma cutter. So I figured I'll just get him one for his birthday, so I hope it works out well enough for him.
Right on. Primeweld is just killin it in the sub -$1k range. Really redefining that market space. I imagine they are giving Lotos and a few others fits with the quality and service they bring to the table. Good vid. Thanks.
I got my Cut60 directly from Primeweld in about 3 weeks. Last month I ordered the Primeweld 225 Tig Welder and received it in less than 2 weeks. I had an electrician install 220v with 50 Amp breaker and a quad 120v with a dedicated 20Amp GFCI breaker in my garage for about $325. Well worth it.
Sold out waiting for them to be back in stock. The ground clamp is the cheap one that comes with all Chicom machines. Harbor freight sells a really good brass replacement for $6 bucks. Good video
Thanks for this post. I'm really impressed. I've been hessitating to buy a new torch for my Razorweld Viper 30i or put that money towards a larger capacity tool. The customer support and warranty are the biggest difference for me. Also a manual in clear English.
i have been trying to decide on what Plasma Cutter is best without spending a lot , trying to set up shop with a number of tools . So cost is important. After watching your video for the miney I will spend on the Prime Weld is money well spent. Thank You for your info it helped making a cheaper mistake. The 60 will cut everything I need . Keep up with the great videos.
I almost bought this machine but settled on the Lotos LTP5500D. If your vid had been released 1 week prior I may have gone Primeweld. With that said I used the LTP5500D this weekend and was very impressed with its performance through 1/2", nice clean cuts. What I cant believe is how small it is, thing weighs about 15lbs. I believe it uses the same torch as the Primeweld. If you get the opportunity check one out, interested in your thoughts. New Sub!

Received mine 3 days ago but due to weather have not done an unboxing or test. I did pick up 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" plate scraps to test this out.
One of the major questions I have, as I research plasma cutters, is how much are consumables, and can you buy them anywhere or only from the manufacturer, for the machines you review? I want to make sure I go into this with my eyes open, aware of the cost and availability for a given machine's consumables. I would rather not have proprietary consumables as I might want to try out some other tip guard that is a different design, etc., or find a cheaper supplier for consumables.
Good video. I've had mine for a few months and looks like you gave it a good shake down. I will say one thing and I know you're trying to stay consistent with test but that thing will cut way smoother with consistent feed. I'd love to see it do 1/2" on a CNC. Overall great job!!!

With cnc you are often cutting out holes and starting a new cut every little bit. Thanks for the actual review. So many people read the marketing hype for a couple of torches and then determine which of them is besr from that hype.
The 1 inch cut looked like the torch had some angle to it, a straight cut might have gone through. I also wonder if the air gap between the stacks of plate might diffuse the plasma a bit, a solid plate might have been cut all the way. Too bad these units are still sold out.

I don't know the specs but I'd assume it uses an inverter to boost current while dropping voltage so it doesn't pull anywhere near 50 amps from the wall.
Id like to chat with primeweld about testing one on my new cnc 5x10 water table. The down side is it being high frequency. CNC computers dont work well with high frequency
man it would make such better effect if you would knock off that slag on the bottom edge after each cut. just wack it with a hammer a couple times and it cleanly breaks right off! also, hold the camera directly above the cut, so we can actually see how clean it is
Nice review. I do not have 220 at the house I’m in but I’m looking for a plasma cutter to cut steel rims / snow tire rims. I just tired of using the grinder and cutoff wheel. I would need to be using the machine on 110 though. Is this machine overkill for that or should I look for something else ?
Looks like it does but wanted to check.. is the connection to the torch allow it to swivel and is loose wobbles at a 360? I just received my cut 60 and trying to determine f that's normal or a problem. Thanks in advance
Yes, page 30 in the manual. It has the recommended amps/psi/IPM for mild steel, stainless and aluminum. The manual also has information in there for analyzing your cuts to determine if you're cutting too slow or too quickly.
I just got my Husky Powermate 33Gallon air compressor back. The Air regulator broke so I connected it directly to my air water separator to the Cut60. My question before I turn it ON, do I need a regulator on the compressor again or can I just use the air regulator on the cut60. I am only cutting 14-18 Steel what do you recommend? Also I hear alot people set PSI at 90 @120v but the gauges reads MAX 75PSI..

This is likely a great cutter for the price! I've talked to one of the owners or the owner at primeweld, they'll fix it if there is a problem but everlast is awesome. I have an everlast 80amp.
Prime wins. Both probably come out of the same factory, Prime has more features, including a better torch. While both companies have good customer service, Prime's is better. I've had both. I'd still have the Eastwood, but I burnt up a relay on one of the boards. A new board should have been under a $100 to replace. Unlike Prime, Eastwood doesn't carry any of the internal boards. This means while under warranty Eastwood just gives you a new machine, but after that your SOL.

I did get the CNC capable version even though I'll probably never be fortunate enough to use it. I paid $550 from Amazon.

Is four 1/4" plates same as a 1" cut wise? Seems like a solid piece might cut (transfer heat) better. What ever, it's impressive.

I believe this is a non high frequency blowback torch. I'd talk with Primeweld to make sure.
