Put the floor jack under the axle, not the truck frame. That way, you don't need to unload the suspension to get the tire off the ground. First jack would work just fine.
I was about to say the same thing. Another good addition with the jack is a piece of wood to set it on so it's not pressing into the dirt. Either a 3/4" piece of plywood 2" wider than the jack and about 8 inches longer. Or a 2x8 normally works good as well. It can live in the bottom of the tool box under the jack.
I love the videos. I would love to see you guys come to Virginia! I know we aren't known for super big deer but we have plenty of them lots of places to hunt lots of public land if you guys are ever wanting to come to the state I'd love to help you get on some mountain bucks ! Love the videos and keep up the good work and promoting hunting and wildlife in general and, most importantly, being ethical hunters. Much love keep it up!
Nick, Nick, Nick... Dude put that floor jack just inside the rear tire under the rear axle. It'll lift your truck up in a SNAP! Jacking the way you did the spring suspension has to uncompress before the tire will start coming off the ground. Jacking under the axle keeps the suspension compressed, bringing the tire up quickly!!! Consider buying a 6 or 8 ton bottle jack from Tractor Supply. They work great and much smaller to store!!
Hot tip Ted. Since you have that drill with the nice big battery… you can use that battery to jump start your car if you don’t have the jump box with you. Just get two pieces of solid strand wire and flatten one end out on each of them with a hammer and you can stick them in the + & - slots on the battery then stick the other ends on your battery terminals.
I think we need another up to date hunting pack breakdown. With all the changes with sticks and platforms and saddles and equipment, what's everyones go-to as far as what you're bringing into the woods. Water bladders, snacks, knife, extra release is anyone running crazy ultra light ?Where does everyone stand on weight vs comfort now as time goes on?
Roof rack with Yakima basket holds another full sized spare tire. Adjustable hitch for hitch hauler allows you to tilt hauler to different angles and vertical in off-roading terrain.
Id be super cool to see a video of the camera setups you guys run for someone wanting to get into self filming hunts and maybe some tips and tricks ! Love the videos. Keep it up!
I know you guys got them but First Aid kits are vital. Quality ones in the vehicle and in your packs. It is only a matter of time before someone needs one. Looking forward to this years hunts!
I’m actually doing some overnight hunts this year for the first time. I’ll be sleeping in my Honda CRV but thanks for sharing giving a few potential ideas.
Upgrade and get the milwaukee air pump!! It will get that flat pumped WAY faster than the harbor freight one you got and it will work on the batteries you got for your impact
Just blew a tire on the highway a couple weeks back. Only had the wrench/jack that came with the truck. After seeing this video, I think I might get an impact wrench for all our vehicles.
Could you guys do a video on how you prioritize what states you apply for to get tags for elk and then the pros and cons of each state. Trying to do it as someone how hasnt hunted elk yet is super confusing. Thanks!
Can’t tell you how many times a simple plug kit and a small compressor saved my butt and many others, definitely 2nd the floor jack the scissor jacks are junk especially if your not on level ground
Put the jack under the rear end, leaf spring hanger, or the shock mount. Then the little jack would be high enough and you wouldn’t be lifting the whole truck.
Good tips in that video, it seems like there isn't a lot of 12v systems used in America, like BCDC's and batteries and fridges, is this due to your hunting season is mostly in the cold months, in Australia every man and his dog has a 12v system in there vehicle, canopy or camper.
I hunt with a couple buddies that bring so much stuff, I wouldn't need to bring anything. 😂. Literally a stove and 6 coolers with everything you can imagine.
I have 2 question s what is the best place for out of staters to go on a trip to hunt to guarantee them a buck? ... and what do you guys consider the best saddle to purchase?
Do y'all have an intern yet? When we gonna get a "meet the intern" video, and when we gonna start getting summer scouting videos. Deer season is just around the corner. Thanks for the gear tips.
U guys mite consider tire plug kit for tire fixes inexpensive and time saver instead wrestling with spare tires Nick put the jack under the shock on rear axle that small jack will work
Every one seems to notice the way Nick was jacking the car up, and not for nothing im pretty sure Nick has said before that his old man is a mechanic!! C'mon nick u should know that being son of a mechanic 😮😂
i dont understand guys with pickups and no topper, they are instant bedrooms they are safe and dry storage, when i was younger i hunted out of it all the time ,

I was just going to say that spot on!

Under the shock mount works great
Under the shock mount is the way to go....right behind the tire
@@goldilox7938that’s what I do…
I hope nick stays a permanent member forever. His personality brings a lot of these videos to the next level
He's the bababooey of THP

I love Nick. The THP boys found a diamond with him.
Calm, cool, collected

Definitely going to use the velcro and cutting board trick thanks
Put the jack under the axle next time lol youll have more luck 😂 Ready for the first 2024 deer tour video to drop!
I was ready to write the same thing haha

If you’ll put the small jack under the axle instead of under the frame it’ll work. You don’t have to deal with suspension travel.
Roof rack with Yakima basket holds another full sized spare tire. Adjustable hitch for hitch hauler allows you to tilt hauler to different angles and vertical in off-roading terrain.
Put that little Jack right up under the shock mount of the axle and it should lift it up high enough
Id be super cool to see a video of the camera setups you guys run for someone wanting to get into self filming hunts and maybe some tips and tricks ! Love the videos. Keep it up!
Thanks for sharing guys! Glad to see you using Milwaukee tools.
Minivans are awesome hunting rigs, I use a dodge caravan
I know you guys got them but First Aid kits are vital. Quality ones in the vehicle and in your packs. It is only a matter of time before someone needs one. Looking forward to this years hunts!
These are awesome videos. Not only are they good idea to have things videos they are more refined set ups people are willing to share!
Blackstone grills are very convenient for feeding a group of hunters!!
Either setup would work, although Teds is more secure. Love what ya'll are doing 😊
Nick you need a bored for under that jack so it doesn't sink into the ground. Get rid of that 4 way and get a braker bar at least 28 in
Deer tour looks like it’s getting rolling!! safe travels and happyhunting boys and girls
?
I’m actually doing some overnight hunts this year for the first time. I’ll be sleeping in my Honda CRV but thanks for sharing giving a few potential ideas.
jack from your shock mount under the axle. plenty strong enough and much lower to the ground. also no suspension slack to deal with.
Could you guys make a video on what to look for when hunting flat terrain?
Nick, I’ve got a white hard tonneau cover and bed rug made for that yea rod truck. You can have it. It just sits in a Kansas barn. Come get it buddy!
Milwaukee makes a heavy duty portable air compressor that works really well, I use it for trailer tiers all the time
Cool video. Would love to see a 'what's in my deer vest/backpack video"
Could you guys do a video on how you prioritize what states you apply for to get tags for elk and then the pros and cons of each state. Trying to do it as someone how hasnt hunted elk yet is super confusing. Thanks!
You boys are getting smarter with all the Toyotas!!
Dang Ted. That rig’s pretty slick.
4 runner is the ultimate hunting rig. Bought a brand new 4 runner 2 years ago. I’ve hauled a few deer in the back. Everyone thought I was crazy
I like bottle jacks for the space they don’t take up, I also like to have to have a flip socket kit for my impact.
Couple pieces of 2x6 the size of the jack is plenty. I have the same setup in my truck.
Any clothing gear review for your personal THP collection?
Can’t tell you how many times a simple plug kit and a small compressor saved my butt and many others, definitely 2nd the floor jack the scissor jacks are junk especially if your not on level ground
Put your jack under the shock mount on the rear end it should lift it up enough
Put the jack under the rear end, leaf spring hanger, or the shock mount. Then the little jack would be high enough and you wouldn’t be lifting the whole truck.
Carry a little 4x4 block with ya or a board to set jack on.

Also hype when they post.
I have a question for you if you are camping out of your truck how do you take a non scent shower while hunting?
I’m pretty sure they don’t take non scent showers. They play the wind and use thermals as much as possible
Some really good tips and advice thanks thp
You guys SERIOUSLY need a tire sponsor!😅 Get that jack under the axle rookie!
@TheHunting_PubIic my mama always said I was a real winner!🏆 🥇🤣
Need to look into the noco power box, a lot smaller and we jump off our bucket trucks with em
Alotttt smaller too
Y’all should come down and hunt here in Florida love the vids keep it up guys
Can we get a video of Haydens drawer system??? I'm in the process of building what I imagine will be the same concept, but I'm open to other ideas!
Do you guys have a link for that battery impact? Been looking for one for a while
Cooler on the back of the 4runner will chip paint off the back over some miles
I have 2 question s what is the best place for out of staters to go on a trip to hunt to guarantee them a buck? ... and what do you guys consider the best saddle to purchase?
Deer farm..... Guaranteed.
No guarantees in the wild
you guys need to get a tire plug kit
I would have put the jack under the shock mount it would have got it high enough.
Do y'all have an intern yet? When we gonna get a "meet the intern" video, and when we gonna start getting summer scouting videos. Deer season is just around the corner. Thanks for the gear tips.
Put the jack under the rear end chunk, it would have enough travel from there.
Put the jack under the bottom shock mount m
Can you do more tutorials on changing a tires next
Nick jack it up under the axle not the frame. That little jack would be fine
Thank God Nick is still in some videos, please keep him on
I don't go anywhere without my Milwaukee impact 💪
Take a two by 12 2 feet long ( a little longer than the jack) treated.......you'll never regret it and 6 inch piece of 4 by 4
U guys mite consider tire plug kit for tire fixes inexpensive and time saver instead wrestling with spare tires Nick put the jack under the shock on rear axle that small jack will work
Bruh that bike lock not stopping a thief 😂😂😂
Pretty slick! 😅
I just wish i had a buddy that would go on an out of state trip. Sucks being the only one willing to be adventurous
Would you say it’s slick?
Every one seems to notice the way Nick was jacking the car up, and not for nothing im pretty sure Nick has said before that his old man is a mechanic!! C'mon nick u should know that being son of a mechanic 😮😂
Port-a-Toilet, Dudewipes and toilet paper!
Jack from the axle silly goose
i dont understand guys with pickups and no topper, they are instant bedrooms they are safe and dry storage, when i was younger i hunted out of it all the time ,
Great vid
Chain or strap down the truck to the axle and then your not lifting suspension travel 13:22
Put the jack under the axle and jack the axle up
No need to lift the entire truck for tire change
If you boys hit se mn this year I got spare room for you guys
But when is the Elk Hunting Dropping?
THP💯💪
This is random and nothing to do with the video but what do nicks tattoos mean? So curious.

Gonzalez Ronald Young George Clark Nancy
I love a gear rundown. But my wallet hates it
Jake kinda buff in that picture tbh
Just jack up under the axle lolol

What's the best brod heads for low pound shooting?
Fixed blade imo you'll get better penetration. Muzzy G5 Montec or Exodus is what I would recommend
