True. But Holland just didn't produce in this game. They were dominating from start to finish, they had 2 penalties in regular time, but De Boer and Kluivert were unsuccessful. Francesco Toldo really raped Holland in this one.
He was a hero that match for sure. I remember whole room (30 people) rooting for Holland, I was the only one rooting for Italy. I thought they will beat me up.
Of course the Dutch would have had a good chance against France, having the home advantage, but you have to keep in mind that in the group stage France played with a sort of second team (no Zidane or Henry, for example) and still only lost 3-2. I am not so sure if the Dutch would have beaten this French team.
The Italians were gladiators in this game. The German ref handed this game to the Dutch on sliver platte, they still couldn’t win. So for almost 120 minutes Italy played a man down, beat off two pens, to win on a pen shoot out 4 to 2. It is complete shame to have lost to France in the final, even Cannavaro said they weren’t Italian enough in the final and gave the game away after last few minutes, France scored two goals.

Defenders used to be penalty kicker in penalty drama..
See all official tournaments penalty drama, it will dominated by defenders kickers..
This happens, when you dive. Ask Ronald de Boer, he dived in the first match with Czech, Dutch won by non-existing penalty kick. Just karma.
ohh Totti you're simply the best *_*
the Egyptian commentator is quite a poet
Simo Simo

Total Football vs Catenaccio
i dont understand that catenaccio thing. they had del piero, inzaghi,, vieri and totti. thats crazy
@@soulsmischief2626 they were in the Netherlands, the euro was in the Netherlands, they were only 10 men, the public, everything was not in italys favor, but they still won!!! And it was only against Holland so, the other matches they played very well!
@@Ezekiel903 i hate this catenaccio talking. yeah, they had maldini, nesta, cannavaro. but people need to understand the unreal attacking talent italy had in the 90s and 2000s. its out of this world, far better than brazil at that time, better than anything else at that time!

holland should've won this game 3-0 i feel bad for them they are an awesome team who cannot win a championship
Raffaele Colucci they needed a Van Basten to win one. Best centre forward ever.
Stam and Totti what a contrast. Everytime Totti walks, his balls are scrubs on the ground.
Last penalty Toldo is saying to himself I'm gonna save it I'll save it... I m Italian i can tell reading his lips ...
Grazie
The mentality of a winner
He definitely was, read his lips also
Most embarassing game ever for holland imo. 5 penalties missed in 1 match...omg
I should've paid to watch this game back then.
