I like the idea that Count Donut is just a regular vampire that feeds on blood and can't actually eat donuts, he's just passionate about them from an aesthetic viewpoint.
Perhaps he was a big donut head in his mortal life, but after his turn he was forced to only observe from afar. Oh, what a sweet sanguine curse!
