You can also go to exchange locals (casa de cambio) that also give you the same rate as the guy who yells "change" on the street,The guy even took Gladys to an exchange house, they are the "promoters".

(they exchanged too much money, they won't have enough time to spend all that haha a hug they made a good deal exchanging for the blue dollar, if they asked anyone here before coming we would have told them not to change at the banks.)
bienvenidos a nuestro pais.(welcome to our country)

There are houses of change in all neighborhood of the city. The government restrict the buy of dollar and only percent the population access to buy 200 usd per month this is the reason the parallel market of dollar in Argentina. All my friends argentine buy dolars and this market, their ofert, is make with the dolars of turist in part.

Hi guys! I am watching your Argentina videos and loving them. I am going to Argentina/Uruguay for the first time in November. If you had to rate Buenos Aires on a scale of 1-10, how would you rate it? What were your favorite things to do in Buenos Aires? Lastly, what if anything did you not like or would you warn someone about?

Exchanging in the "blue" market you are helping keep the dollar rate low, because it is a small market and therefore helping the government, that have to inject money from the Central Bank to keep the price low. Also the economy because it is mostly intertwined with the dollar rate, and the access to the official dollar is extremely restricted to any kind of business except those that are government friendly and have their bless. And finally the people that suffers the inflation linked to production cost of goods in U$D and their salaries tied to argentinian pesos. In summary, the "illegal" act helps most of the locals.
PS: You can also exchange in some Casas de Cambio at the blue rate. Some substract a 5% of the price if you bring old bill notes, the ones without the blue stripe. They called them "Cabezas chicas", small heads, and the new ones "Cabezas grandes", big heads.

The exchange rate you get with western union is not the Blue Dollar.. is the Tourist Dollar. Different rates... you get a better rate ( blue dollar rate ) if you exchange your USD on the streets of microcentro in Buenos Aires (
