I just completed this task on my 06 SRX... I did not remove the steering wheel or airbag. The bolts were T 25 not T20. I was unable to disengage the lock mechanism. There is a grommet that pops off the end of the key slot and that allowed me to pop the bottom panel off. I used a 4mm socket on the inside- top panel screw. Cheap plastic, be gentle, be patient, or you could break tabs. There was some swearing. No blood.
I don't see how people are not seeing that, I saw that and I was like, there's the damn hole right there. Why do I need to remove the air bag for all of that!? There's a service port just for that screw
People are definitely right about leaving the airbag and wheel on. Just get a torx Allen wrench to reach the lower Torx screw on the signal. Other than that all you need to remove is the key cylinder and the steering wheel covers to access everything.
Any thoughts on where I could have gone wrong if the cruise control doesn't work anymore after replacing this switch? Might obviously be a faulty replacement part, but I wondered for instance which of the cables is connected to that, as much as I think I took care not to damage them...
Hello for anyone dealing with the key cylinder removal, especially if you have a 08 SRX, the plastic ring around the key cylinder front slot pops off if you gently pry it off with a flat head. With that you dont have to remove steering wheel nor airbag. Tried it myself it works. Hope this helps someone

Hey man I had the same problem. Don't know if you still need it, but changing the switch definitely helps. You just need a T20 on the bottom two screws, remove the top cover, and the cluster cover, and the two bolts holding the switch in are T25, on on top and one on bottom. Undo all the plugs and reverse order and you should be golden. Took me about 10 minutes.
Hello Mr. Aguilar, There may be plastic retaining tabs at the top, bottom or side of the turn signal multi-function switch in addition to the two pan head T20 tapping screws (fasteners) mentioned in the video. Check to see if your switch has these retaining tabs. If so, then you would need to release the retaining tabs in order to remove the turn signal multi-function switch from the turn signal multi-function switch bracket. If you are having issues removing the T20 fasteners, try taping on the end of the Torx bit driver a few times to break the screw loose before attempting to remove it. Hope these tips help.
@@CardoneIndustries Enrique said he can't remove ignition (vid says stick t20 in hole, turn and pull). Yodont think you answered him there, and in having same issue. Ignition will not come out. No idea how far I should be putting t20 in hole or whether I should move it in any way

Hey David, thanks for the positive comment and for your candor regarding our choice for the background music. CARDONE knows cars, car parts and car repairs, music is not our strong suit!! 🤣👍😜
It’s extremely frustrating when most of the headache is taking off the steering wheel and you can see through the comments that this doesn’t even need to be done. So I’m trying to go about doing this without removing the steering wheel and can’t get the fucking ignition out or the grommet for it. Can someone please tell me how tf to get this shit off without completely removing my steering wheel?
LOL this is why it costs like 900$ to have your starter motor replaced. Or a 1000$ spark plug change. You do not need to spend all the time and effort removing the steering wheel. Holy hell. Did you forget you were making a how to video and not trying to pad the bill with "labor"?
Great video, helped me get the same job finished.
Thank you so much the even helped me to install a new airbag and steering wheel! You rock so much! 🙏🫶💪😎

All Done, but had to work around getting the key cylinder out. Great Video, thanks for posting it,
Thanks for the video, i had problems with my turn signal switch. i got the part from Amazon and replaced it. Thank you again, it really helped.
you don"t have to remove the air bag .only remove upper and lower steering cover and turn the steering to access the lower torx bolt

Yup....this video is 5 minutes too long
It's because the airbag could blow at anytime while doing this. Other than that you don't need to worry about it.
Helped me out great 🎉

Would this be the same process if replacing windshield switch?

This video only applies to 2003 to 2007 Cadillac CTS and 2004 to 2007 CTS-V. The 2008 is the second generation CTS.
