So true, the true evidence of the work of the Spirit is the hunger for the Word of God because people led by the Spirit want to know God more. It’s not about the gifts or blessings, it’s about delighting in just knowing the Lord more. Nothing on earth can compare to knowing Him and what He has done for us, saving us from our wretched and deceitful selves. The way Pastor Paul teaches these amazing passages has made me see the Lord’s purpose, perspective and plan clearer because this life is all about Him, not me. I am so grateful to Calvary church for making these videos available for free. These lessons from the Word of God should always be free because it’s not about us, it’s about Him, Jesus name above all names! Thank you Pastor Paul and Calvary church, please don’t stop filling this space with the truth from God’s Word 😇
Yes, the hunger for our Lord's word is growing and growing. It's wonderful having access to a knowledgable biblical teacher who understands the word from God as he wishes us to know, then presents the word on how to live your daily lives, it's a blessing. ✝️🛐💜
Im blessed with pastor Paul’s teachings. I struggled to read the bible for a long time. When I eventually started, I was led to search for the teachings of the chapters online and found this channel. I have ever since been interested in the Word. Praise God 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 and thank you Sir
Your desire to see people hungry for God's word explains the quality of your teaching. I personally have done Joshua through Nehemiah with you. And recently added New Testament to our daily study with you. Thank you.
Praying for this hunger upon us all Christians especially in these last days that we will want to read the word and Know God more... thank you Holyspirit thank you pastor Paul
Fantastic teaching...praise God....I was so moved when you read that the people gathered and asked to hear Gods word... Love and blessings from Norfolk England. GillywifeofMark
Pastor Paul - I cannot overstate the influence your teachings have had on my understanding of the Bible, and I will never be able to fully express my gratitude to you for your hard work in sharing these thorough chapter-by-chapter recordings - a timeless and invaluable resource. One thing I wanted to add to this sermon is at 21:34 onwards, you cover how in Nehemiah 8:5 all the people stood as Nehemiah opened the book and read from scripture, and you commented how "this probably would never happen today, in our culture" (22:18), and "there was a reverence that caused the people to rise, to stand up" (24:08). It must be mentioned here that every single day, in every Catholic Church in every country around the world, when the priest reads from the Gospels, the attendees of the Mass stand to hear the Gospel. Pastor Paul you are often one of the more diplomatic Protestant Pastors when it comes to topics relating to the Catholic Church - (which I appreciate!), so I just wanted it known that indeed we do have an example in our culture today, where we see a level of reverence shown to the scripture as we saw in Nehemiah's time - and it happens every day for the last 2000 years in the Catholic Church. God Bless you and your flock.
Yes! Pastor Paul summed up so well why he is such a good teacher. He understands that his job is to read the scriptures and explain what they mean, not to use the scriptures to make a point or advance an agenda, however noble that agenda might be. Every lesson has deep and varied truths from the word of God. I appreciate these teachings so much! Thank you from Rapid City, South Dakota!!!
One of my favorite parts of Nehemiah chapter 8 is the great example of preaching and teaching God's word (2 Timothy 4:2). In Nehemiah chapter 8 verse 8, the Bible says, "They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read." The way the Levites handled the Word of God for the Israelite people is, perhaps, the best example of how to preach and teach most effectively, by making the Word clear and giving the best meaning so that the people can understand what is being read to them. I feel frustrated when some pastors at certain churches begin to veer away from the Bible too much and seem to be, perhaps, doing their own teachings, when Christian people need to understand what God wants from them clearly from the Word in order to "equip his people for works of service" and "so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." -- (Ephesians 4:12-13). While I am a zealous believer of using the Bible for sound doctrine to help God's people to understand how to successfully live their lives in all the ways the Bible gives wisdom (2 Timothy 3:16-17), the sound doctrine needs to agree with the Bible in its entirety by not going beyond "what is written" (1 Corinthians 4:6; 1 Timothy 4:15-16; Titus 2:1). I agree with what you say that you appreciate seeing people be "hungry" for God's Word.
I enjoy listening to you that I get into the word of God everyday thru utube. I began in the beginning going through one page at a time of the Bible. Both old and new testament. Thank you.
I pray my family will hunger for God's word. I look forward to learning more every day you make it interesting and come alive God truly blessed you with a teaching gift .
Today I asked for God's Guidance. He gave me Jeremiah 7&8. So I searched on UA-cam because I did not understand. I came across you. I felt that this is where I need to be. I am a reborn Christian since 7th October since 2023. Thank you Brother
We have experienced and continue to experience that excitement for the Word -- since coming out of new age, I am in the Word every day and your teachings have been extremely helpful in helping me understand the Word, and also doing Bible studies from other teachers. I listen to your sermons every day -- many days, I go through multiple of your sermon videos
Listening to this word in the Corona pandemic 2020 period gives me the understanding of the craving for the word of God. In as much as we have the online services there is the craving for coming together as the body of Christ in worship and fellowship. Good teaching.
Thank You 🙏🏽 Pastor Paul for educating the ppl on the King James Bible I always said that’s how they spoke back then that’s not how we speak today I can never understand why ppl are so hung up on the King James Bible I’m not I want to understand Gods word in today’s language
This is why so many follow you 30:00 I agree God's word should be clear. I can't listen long term to a pastor who doesn't present their message on the simplest level or what's the point
In fact I was raised as a Christian but read the Bible with a committed seeking heart only a few years ago and I started with the message Bible because it almost felt like someone was telling me what the Bible is about and it was helpful (although I've heard lots of negative things about it since) I thanked God over and over for it. Afterwards I wanto go deeper and decided to see if I really prayed and meditated on it, if I could understand the king James version. So I read it once and was surprised the level of connection I felt to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. So I'm on my second time through and decided I wasn't grasping chronicles so that's when I started these daily readings here and it's so wonderful. I look forward every day!
Ezra the Temple, Nehemiah the city walls.... Guard your ❤️, put on the breastplate.... Protect your heart don't give it away... Give it to the Lord God only
I can't agree with all your comments about the kjv. If only "archaic" words were updated (I use a dictionary) but entire verses are removed and meanings changed out of EVERY other book aka bible. I appreciate your taking the time to teach and your understanding of the Word of God. 3 words: Alexandria (v) Antioch. 🙏
I don't think we need to be flippant with some of these translations either. Some of the are clear but are clearly wrong on some of their interpretations.
Jesus said depart from me you workers of iniquity and lawlessness I never knew you. This will be people who cast out devil's ect so it seems as though Jesus will judge us as he judged the pharisees and sadduces.
Listening to this in August 2024. Getting blessed
