- After striking out at a couple of traditionally haunted spots, the Rancho Los Cerritos and Virginia Country Club, we decided, as long as we were in the area, to just drive around looking for a regular haunted house rather than one overdone by excessive lore. We wound our way through the neighborhood, passing various haunted spots steeped in urban legend and folklore, before blundering into a house on Country Club that looked truly haunted: Big trees with branches that looked like flailing arms, an unpainted house with window shades closed giving it a long-abandoned look, a hearse parked out front with a casket in the back-those sorts of things.
Cool to learn about the house and its owners! It was also in "American Pie," which is surprisingly not mentioned.
I definitely have to see this house. I've lived in Long Beach most of my life but never known about this house. I certainly am familiar with the Country Club and Bixby areas hauntings.
I remember when Schuyler MacPherson killed his friend, Alexander Giraldo in 1992. I still can't believe he got away with the murder and he still lives in the same house as when he was in high school.
I drove by this house one time. Nice house, just needs a little love!
This is always the coolest house to visit on Halloween in bixby😂
There is a mass grave for flu pandemic victims near the house
I could tell you the truth about a home on 14 th street. True haunted house that tormented us in the 80s. But I moved out and would not enter If you paid me.
Where at on 14th st?
Great story!
I need the address to this house please 🥰
