Yes! That is true. When I had my cat, during times of trouble I would rest my head next to him and listen to him purr, and all seemed right with the world.
Kinder, gentler, and more understanding than people think - loving, comforting, they can understand emotions, feelings - they just know what their human needs. and a lot better looking and softer. Kermit is far better for Javier than that "human therapist".
Yes they are... I remember in 2019 I lost my cat.. I was heartbroken and emotionally very very low I cried alot. That day in the evening I went to the samll lake to sit peacefully alone. .. ... Suddenly I don't know how ...one Stray dog appears , he just came and put his head on my legs And I just hold him... That silence.. that was one of the different experience I had. I feel animals had that special understanding of the emotions of others. next day I went to the same location to search him but I couldn't found him.

@@Calliope0954 you shouldn't say its better than a therapist as they provide two completely different things. Pets provide unconditional love and support which is extremely important while a therapist can provide tools to cope with problems that won't solve themselves. They actually work best together!
Suffering from depression and anxiety, I was devastated by the deaths of my Mum and my husband just a few months apart. I went for therapy but truly what saved me was my cat who seemed to know exactly how I was feeling and was definitely the best therapist ever.

I know what you mean; some years ago I had to have hernia surgery and was bedridden for several days after ! My kitty, Buddy, lived up to his name, as he stayed beside me on my bed the whole time, only leaving to use his litter box or get some food and water ! I've been fortunate to have had some good kitties in my life, and he was one of the best I've ever known !

The way kermit responds to every statement of his owner is the cutest thing ever seen.
My cat Willie is the same way.
He loves to talk with me whenever we are together.
He comes in and sleeps between my wife and I every night. We talk and play all the time. He loves his Dad. What a blessing he has been. He and his brother were dumped off where I work as kittens over ten years ago. We took them in and they have been with us ever since.
His brother, Piper, is a bit more independent. But Willie just clings to us as if he’s human.
What a great friend he is.
I'm so glad that the internet and social media have made cats into the superstars that cat lovers have always known them to be.

I am a single male who is retired. I adopted two cats, one is diabetic and needs constant care. It is a small price to pay. I don't know how I would have survived this pandemic without my two non rent paying roommates.
@Kenneth Sheran Absolutely. Less than 1 percent of all cats will be diagnosed with diabetes. Unfortunately Max is not covered by my medical insurance so I have to pay cash for his insulin. He also has to take a chemo drug which is not cheap either. Luckily I can afford the meds.
Any organism with a pancreas can be diabetic, which is practically all mammals. It's the inactivity and poor diets of pet domestic cats that is responsible for insulin-resistant diabetes.
I'm a single mom and I take in any stray or feral in need. Meaning I have alot of cats but I cant imagine my life without them. I now have a 3 legged kitten that's finally growing and fast lol. Hes got a mitten pawed buddy now about the same age. They keep me from getting too depressed and give me an added reason for existing. Everyone has a different personality and quirks, it's just so fascinating to me , that and they're assholes lmao so we suit eachother.
My dad had 3 cats, sadly the oldest passed away Sunday. But he’s been divorced for over a decade and he’s only had one gf they didn’t work out. I know having the cats has helped him he has bipolar and he’s got a lot of health problems, but he loves them. He might be getting another one because a family friend died and we won’t think her partner will be able to live without her. He’s more worried about the poor cat being locked in the house since Monday than he is about the girls partner

I heard from someone, that dogs loves you no matter how you treat them (except from abuse), cats in the other hand they teach you to love them.
If you didn't understand what I mean is that the love that cats shows to us is the most near to a real relationship of love, you need to learn how to gain they trust and they will repay that with all they got.
People usually thinks that cats aren't that loyal like a dog, that's fake, they can be as loyal o more, it only depends to how you treat them.
If a cat don't show trust to their owners is that something is off, or they don't treat them well or they don't spend much time with them, after all cats are like humans, you can't force someone to love you and loving someone is difficult, it needs time and consideration, if you don't have those better don't adopt a cat, not only cats, all the animals needs to be treated like that.
After all, " you treat others like they treat you".

I had a cat like this, her name was Lexi. She was my cat soul mate. I got her at 11 weeks old. Losing her at 17 years old in April 2021 was the worst, I miss her every single day. I adopted a senior cat (pictured in my profile pic) and I love her to pieces, but Lexi was something you find once in a lifetime. I hope we can all be picked by an animal like this cat and my Lexi Lu.

I have the same relationship with my Orange Tabby cat named Marcello. He sleeps by my side every night and as soon as I wake up he lays on top off me for cuddles and affection. We have a strong bond. Love him!!
This is exactly how I feel about my Daisy. Truly a gift from Bastet herself, just as the legends say all black cats are. I may have saved her from a life of being bounced between overcrowded shelters, but she makes living with my Crohn's bearable. I get up every day just to hear her talk to me, and on really bad days, she will lie on my abdomen and purr. I may have a degree in Biology, but she was born with a doctorate in therapy.

I love my cat too but hearing his soy voice say it to Kermit did make me feel a little pukey.
I adopted my baby girl madisson when I was going through a huge bout of depression..7 years later and we are à tag team. I couldn't imagine my life without her. Never thought I would be a cat dad but there you go. Cats are special animals. She gave me a reason to live again. This clip makes me happy...x

Cats understand so much more than people give them credit for. I have 14 and each one has their own unique personality but all understand things i say to them.....like bed time, i love you, hugs, no talking, get down, lets go outside etc.

Sorry to hear that! 🥺🖤 It happened to me in December. Nothing is the same and I cry multiple times a day and miss him so much. It’s a horrible feeling. The memories and photos/videos are all you have to remind you of the special times with them.

Oh. I so agree. When my baby was dying of cancer, one of the last nights together, I had her laying next to me, and after a good night's sleep, I realized she did not get off bed to go potty. The SECOND that entered my mind, PLLLLLAAAAAAAEEEAAAAAAAAAA... THE POOP AND PEE CAME FLYING INTO MY hair, pillow... and you know what? I still smile about that today. I had to let her go, the vet came over, two days later. Yes, it is heart breaking. Cancer.

I agree. We had an orange cat who was just like Kermit, and when our female delivered her kittens HE took care of them. It looked funny seeing a male cat mouth-carrying kittens around, keeping them washed up and in order, or kittens sliding and playing on top of him. I'm sure he had a real name in the beginning, but we always called him, "Daddy Cat". What a guy. 😃

So sweet! I love my orange tabby “Frankie” who also came to me while recovering from trauma. I went to a shelter and Frankie crawled into my lap, snuggled and purred. Frankie, made it clear that I was his new M0mmy. Frankie brings me and my kids joy every single day.

It's hard to explain to people who don't really love animals the level of emotional connection that can happen between a human and an animal like Kermit. A friend of mine, John, was convinced that cats were aloof, and that only dogs were worth having. "Cats don't come when you call" he said. I saw Fuzzo about 200 feet down the lawn, hunting mice by the water. I called him, his head perked up, and he came running up the lawn onto the deck and rubbed against my leg. I thought John's jaw was going to fall off. He slept with his head on the pillow with us, and when we lost him, my wife and I were crushed. That was 35 years ago. Love has no expiration date.

Omg this video just melted my heart. I had a kitty that was just as loving as this one is, I have tons of pictures of him kissing me and snuggling with me. He was such a huge blessing in our lives. He died a few years ago and I just cant seem to stop missing him. They really become family.
I doubt I can fully understand the depth of your loss. Since it has been a few years, PLEASE think about adopting again. You could obviously give a cat who really needs one an excellent home and it might ease your loss. You never stop missing family entirely but it might make it easier. The world is full of cats that need homes.
@@elizabethsohler6516 I would actually love to adopt again but Im on SSDI and I cant afford proper vet care so it stops me from getting another kitty. There were times I had to feed my other kitty tuna because it was covered on food stamps and I didnt have enough money to buy him proper food. It takes more than love to care for a cat, I wish that wasnt the case tho.

I was indifferent to cats, but after living with one for two years (roommate), I was pleasantly surprised how affectionate they are 😊🥰 Our cat had her fiesty moments, but would always curl up beside me when I was asleep or on my laptop and would rub her nose on my hand ☺️ I haven't owned a dog yet (I know 🤦♀️), but I can imagine they are very similar

2020 was rough. I got my baby in summer 2021. He was 5 months and found at a hotel in my hometown. The worker at the shelter pulled him out randomly for me to meet and after meeting him and having him meow and crawl all over me, I didn't look at any other cats. I knew I was his!
So often I’ve heard rubbish like “cats don’t bond with their humans the way dogs do”. I’m lucky enough to have 2 amazing rescue cats who were terrified of people when I met them at the rescue centre. I couldn’t bear the thought of them being overlooked for adoption so they came home with me. They just needed time, space & patience to learn to trust humans again & they grew into the most amazing, sweet natured & loving boys. I have a degenerative spinal disease & both my boys are so tuned in to how bad my pain is on any given day, it’s incredible. They won’t leave my side on the bad days - Charlie will drape himself over my hip if I’m in bed while Gabriel has to lie where he can see my face so he usually lies with his head on the pillow next to mine - & every so often he’ll very gently pat my cheek with his paw. If the pain is bad enough to make me cry he’ll scoot over & smush his face against mine then lie there, purring away, with his forehead gently resting against mine. They’ve been with me 11 years now & I wouldn’t swap them for the world. When a cat bonds with you (especially a cat that has been abused & has learned to trust again) & gives you that 100% unconditional love, it’s the absolute best feeling.

@@JohnSmith-zw8vp I can't and won't be able to for several reasons: I don't have the money, can't afford to care for them if they get sick,( Veterinarians are terribly expensive) where I live they put you through the ringer if you have animals ( atleast 300.00 per current vet and shot status( that's about 600.00 minimum) then you need 2 people to guarantee they'll take care of your animals if you are too sick or have to go to a hospital, and finally putting the loving animal down, I don't think I could go through the crying and pain of the loss again! What do you think? I'm right, it can't be done!!!!!

@@whentheisthewhen5001 Though I must admit that I am a big, big, big admirer of fur bearing furries such as rodents, marsupials, and felines, if you're referring to my spelling of "furries" as "animals", then it definitely wasn't a mistake or wrong since people who are kind toward *all* animals, not just fur bearers, tend to be the best people in the world.
My furry friends can always sense when my mood is low and I get extra care.
If anyone needed any more proof that, when loved and cared for properly, our fur babies become angels, just watch 0:14-0:18 - probably sweetest interaction I’ve ever seen between a man and his beloved cat. Note the up tone in his first meow; Kermit is literally answering a question he fully understands.

My orange cat used to sleep under the cover with me, and would wait to wake with me My present black cat is sweet but she demands to be fed at 5:00 am or earlier. She doesn't sleep with me like my orange cat, although she licks my face. each cat has their own personality. I do favor the orange cats. I met 2 Vets who felt the orange cats have the best personalities. They tend to be 'alpha", but very loyal.

Spot on! Every time I hear that "selfish distant cat" thing I just want to laugh. All the cats I've had have been the biggest sooks in the world, and massively clingy with me.
Tbh that's... kinda what I think of cats 😅 I'm sure they're great pets but from what I've seen and because I've never owned one I just think.. negatively of how they'd act. I'm a dog owner but trust me, no hate towards cats at all.

Trust me, they're not actually *that* different from each other, cats and dogs.
They both love to play, they both love cuddles. Cats are just a little bit more subtle as to how they express that. But when I cat is purring its head off, you can see that it's in a state of total euphoria.
Thing about cats is that their brains are constantly ticking about how to do the next naughty thing.
I'll give you an example, when I'm lying on the couch I usually have my laptop on my belly. One my cats, Nikita, loves to curl up on my chest and wedge her head under my chin. She does this head-to-head thing all the time.
But, when I gently push her off my chest, she'll walk around and try to sneak onto my chest from behind my head, and all I can see from the corner of my eye is her paw gliding ever so slowly over my shoulder. She's hoping I wouldn't notice.
And she is determined to get the cuddles!

Lemme tell ya, my family is actually gonna take in a cat from a friend of my brother's for 7 days to see what it'll be like, see how our dog will react and see if we can take care of it. If everything goes well, we'll have a new family member. I was hesitant at first but I remembered that we'll have him for 7 days to see how he'd act, so I started warming up to the idea. I adopted a boy just like this. Named him Milo. Was my best friend. Had him 6 years when out of nowhere he had a blood clot that instantly paralyzed him and he went into heart failure. He woke up like normal and snuggled w me for two hours then went out front to sunbathe when he started howling. Thought he broke his legs. 3 hours later he was euthanized..ive never experienced anything more painful in my life. I had an out of body experience bc my body couldn’t handle the pain of losing him so suddenly. That was a little over a year ago and my heart still hurts. When you have a “soulmate pet” they mean everything to you. This sweet ginger boy reminds me so much of my Milo..❤️❤️❤️
I feel for you Deanna. I'm so sorry and saddened to hear of your loss and pain. Be thankful for the memories and for the fact you were so lucky to have had such an amazing companion who was a "one in a million". Also you did everything you could to have provided your angel with the best life possible. Trust me, you gradually do start to feel better although you never forget them. The pain turns to a smile as time goes by and you think of them. Time will heal your pain. x
I'm sorry for your loss Deanna. Everyone who has a beloved pet knows you will have to say goodbye to them one day. I had 3 cats for 18 years, just lost the last one last August. Now the pain is there, but it's time for us to move on and get another couple of cats. We make our cats lovies like his little puss. Each one had gifts they brought with them that made them special. My last little girl lived to 18, and that still was not enough time for me.

If you raise your cat from the time they're kittens and you're affectionate and gentle with them and you're the one who feeds them they grow very attached to you and act like Kermit.
I agree with Veronica C. My old cat Zuit was just like this & I raised him just like Veronica stated. Tho I did have to teach him to gentle cause his arms were as long as mine were @ about 2 months old so I knew he’d be a huge which he was & would hurt ppl if he played to hard so I had to teach him to play gently. 🤣 Be safe guys

My son went thru years of severe medical and psychological difficulties. Shortly before he fell ill, we had to euthanize his Maine coon kitty he’d had for 14 years. After a couple years I adopted a white and black DSH and brought her home. Best thing I ever did, she just stayed right by his side, the best therapy. He’s much better now, but she’ll always be his angel.

My cat of 18 years was like this. When she died it killed me. Unfortunately I am surrounded with a handful of people who get it and the majority of people telling me she was just a cat. I feel sorry for people who have never felt this deep connection before.
They are very closed off, you had the gift of sharing part of your life with a beautiful creature and she had a wonderful guardian during her life.
So sorry for your loss. Its awful 😞 saying goodbye.

Yesterday she was sick, I allowed her to vomit inside my room in peace because she knows that I will never be mad at her for such thing unlike my other family members.
