There is a tune called falcon loop for the 599xx E where you can go flat out for the entire circuit at around 425kmh/(idk(like 260mph(?)))

The way Forza takes checkpoints into account is whether the wheels, specifically the contact patch of the wheels on a surface, pass through the checkpoint. Since Nick's wheels were riding the wall, they were outside the checkpoint boundaries and therefore he did not pass through the checkpoint. So remember this, always keep one wheel on the road!
Nope, 10:47 and the following wall ride completely negates this idea because he still somehow got the checkpoint.

I get your point, it could possibly be fun, but if NASCAR was like this, where would be the skill and actual racing? That would be more like banger racing on ovals, not NASCAR. NASCAR is oval racing, not oval racing while trying to control uncontrollable 300mph Ferrari’s.

You did actually get 4th place, but the place counter didn't realize that, and that's why you came 5th.
The problem is that whenever you move up a place, the place counter takes a moment to realize that you moved up, and then after a few seconds after you moved up a place, it places you at that place you just moved up to. But because the finish was right there, the place counter did not have enough time to confirm that you came 4th, and so it placed you in 5th.
