We went early to catch the sunrise. Spectacular! Crowds didn't start arriving until late morning. By evening the crowds had thinned. Early or late was best. Midday sun also washes out the vibrant colors.

We are so happy we saw the Grand Canyon this way. The train ride is worth it. We can honestly say even with Joel's fear of heights we are glad we did it, but not sure if we would ever go back as we will not be riding a donkey down the cliffside. Thanks- Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
FUN! We rode in the caboose too! Did you have a train robbery on the way up? We LOVED the Grand Canyon. It's ok to be "elevation reluctant" Joel. That's why my husband washes the higher windows outside! I hate ladders! By the way, that solar we had installed in Wisconsin Rapids is wonderful! We are so happy with the job and they remedied a few other things for us too. We would recommend them for sure. Matt listened to our wants and concerns and gave us the perfect package for us. We actually had a rear camera installed and a window resealed too. The worst thing...avoiding the Wisconsin Dells summer crowd on the way back home! Safe travels!
The train robbery was only on the way back and loved the whole experience! Fear of heights is no joke and Joel has gotten better & has been able to get on the roof of our RV!! I went there late December years ago. With the piled up snow only about the top 1 foot of fence was exposed and it was extremely slippery. If you slid to the fence it would have caught you just above the ankles and flipped you over the edge. Joel would have LOVED those conditions.

Williams, AZ Bittersweet place for me. Our dog was in distress while visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time. We were going to rush him to a vet in Williams in the morning but he died overnight. He was 14. We had him cremated in Williams and his ashes scattered in the forest near Flagstaff. At least he was with us to the end.
It is wonderful your dog was able to travel and has his ashes spread in Flagstaff. ❤️ thanks for sharing your experience with us all as it is very tough to lose a dog. That would be a bittersweet thing and sending hugs. Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
The Grand Canyon was amazing. I agree with you; walk the realm is about all there is to do unless you are a real hiker. We did not do the train. It looked like fun. We did the same section of Route 66 that you guys did. We actually had a great conversation with Pete from pete's garage. It was really cool. The number one National Park is in our great state of Tennessee, the Smoky Mountain National Park. If you haven't been there we need to meet up there! Great video, guys. Lynn and Danny

We are definitely going to have to take the train next time we go. OK, When ya'll come, we won't do Watkin's Glen. We will do a different waterfall. Plus, if you're ever in Colorado don't do the Silverton to Durango train ride. You will not like that at all. OK. This had to be the funniest of all your videos. Poor Joel. I would have been more worried about rattlesnakes off the path. There are some cool historic places to see along the rim if you have the time.

Hi Michael- We were worried about that too before going full-time, but Maya was good in our house for up to 9-10 hours. Maya loves being in the RV and is good.
