I never ever watched imsa or anything like this until this year. Now I’m hooked. Watched a ton of the Rolex 24. Was pulling for Cadillac. Seemed like the Acuras were slightly faster in the infield section.
This sounded sooooo much better than c8r. This is what an american v8 should sound like! Although I'm super surprised by how close the gears are from 2-3 3-4 and so on, but after thinking a little its probalbly to keep the engine in its peak-ish hp&trq. Awesome driving!
Something that might make those gears sound closer might be due the extra power supplied by the electric motors, in some parts it did not accelerated as fast but when it had to decelerate for some time (regen braking charging the KERS) and then came out of a corner it shifted very fast.
I noticed that as well, especially since the old DPIs had much taller gears. Turns out the LMDH has a 7 speed gearbox as opposed to the DPI's 6 speed, so there's that.
