It's cuz dyed hair can quickly fade its color. Trust me, my sister dyed her hair ash grey, then it quickly turned into the color before it was dyed or bleached, aka "blonde-ish".

This is such a creative idea, they all came out so good! Chewy didn't seem to agree but I especially loved your Stacy (perhaps because she wasn't terrifying?). That wig is such a throwback, it's like a combination of your hair from years ago and hers.
