Well they claim to be the fastest on the streets at least......not the track. Going back and forth between setting your car up for the street and the track rarely ends in a car that's dominant on both.
They're running on 275 drag radials, not the big tires the cars really need to hold the power they put down. They end up having to pull power just to get the car to hook but at that time the cars get slower too. Big tires and they would be a lot quicker.

Really like to talk to "Big Chief", truly a fantastic thing he didnt "Chevy" that PMD. So many people are stabbing Chevy engines into PMD cars, it shows lack of respect to the brand, and if you can't stay true to your flag, then it shows how you live your life.
Running low 4 second passes in the eighth mile is pretty tough with big tires. With 275 mm drag radials, it gets even tougher. They have to get the chassis setup and horsepower just right. It looked like 'the crow' got the chassis pretty close but didn't apply enough power. I have no way to know if he had it turned down, or if that's all he had. No matter what, 4.70s is not horrible.

Chief had a helluva pass. He is driving a 3000 pound plus car built for the street and wide tires. Outlaw cars run a 10.5 tire which he had to run to race an outlaw race. He is racing against cars built specifically as outlaw cars. Tube chassis fiber bodied painted on headlight plexiglass windowed 2200 pound this is all they do race cars. The mustang he is racing probably has 200 plus runs on it. I think chief has said his car weighs around 3500. The general rule of thumb is that every 100 pounds you take off you gain a tenth of a second in the quarter mile. they are racing an eighth of a mile so it's different but still you get the idea.

This was the first time chief or murder nova had put 275's on the car for a track event. They had to tune and still competed. Not slow at all
