Hi friends! In this video I will be sharing my review on YSL’s Monogram Card Case in Grain de Poudre Embossed Leather. I got it in black leather with black hardware as I’m a big fan of its monochromatic look. I’ve had this card case for 4 months now and I thought it would be a good idea to share my pros and cons, and how the wear and tear is, months after using it. I have been on the hunt for a card case just because I hate carrying around a wallet!!! I loooove how compact it is and I also like that the logo isn’t like obnoxious and flexing to everyone!! I only need 2 card slots so this is perf!!!!
YESS that's honestly why I like it. I love how the logo is there but it's so subtle lol. I really recommend this card case, I think it really is perfect when you only like bringing couple of cards with you! :) thanks for watching, Sam!
I’ve had this in my cart for many months LOL I want the one in gold hardware! I love how easily this can fit in small bags bc that’s what I only carry nowadays~ thanks for the detailed review, I am now very convinced and will splurge on it very soon 😂😂

Omg the scratches!! Yes!!! You’re not alone 😭 I also have the black hardware on the monogram chain wallet and the gold hardware on the card case and both of them scratch quite easily. While it’s not THAT obvious it is still sometimes bothersome lol when im not using it, i place it back in its dust bag or i dont put my car keys in the same pocket as the cardcase so im not sure how im getting alot of these scratches either lol

I only carry small handbags now and I’ve honestly ditched using regular wallets awhile back and always just go for card cases nowadays ☺️ love that you said the leather doesn’t scratch as easily. I’m always so paranoid with some of my leather bags that are prone to scratching! Agree, the logo is placed so nicely and this would be such a timeless piece! I think it’s so so cute! YESS I don't use regular wallets anymore, I feel like I only need to carry few cards and I'm all good haha. Card cases are just so much more convenient for smaller handbags! Love the black on black! I'm a cardholder type of person. I used to carry all my cards but getting older I only want to carry the essentials which is like 5 cards!

I totally agree with you to always look for something that will age well, a forever statement piece.
eeek on the logo thing, i wonder if they just coated it with lacquer ... often times i see some of these luxury brands trying to tap into jewelry, but really didn't make it for me.
the LV rings are only gold plated for $400... meanwhile you can get 18K gold rings at tiffany's for 1K, but THAT will last you a life time. 🙁
Girl I got mine for $295 huhu :( but I think the quality of the leather makes up for it? Or at least I hope so lol! I think it's coated with enamel. Fortunately you can only see the scratches under certain light. Although it's still a bit bothersome lol
I feel you with luxury jewelry brands. Some are so expensive and you're not even paying for the real stuff, it's insane! You'll just be basically paying for the brand :(

I also like logos that aren't loud and in your face-- Im definitely more on the side of designer stuff that you can't tell is designer

Great review! Detailed but to the point!😘 I don't think you could go wrong with a Saint Laurent card case. These things are made to last! Love yours, babe. I don't have the black enamel on any of my Saint Laurent pieces but I was initially considering it when I was planning my Toy Loulou purchase. My main concern was the black color chipping off. So far, everyone who's had the Loulou in the black on black said that they didn't have that issue and you don't either as you just have scratches on your case's hardware. Odd though that even if the card case doesn't really come into contact with hard stuff in the bag that it's still getting scratched. However, as you said, it's really only visible in certain lighting and when I look at it, it really does look pretty much brand new to me. Keep enjoying this beaut! It's a great buy!
I agree! The leather is just amazing! It is very odd how the logo scratches easily, but I had to try hard to capture it in camera so it's not really that obvious at all! omg nooooor you are enabling me to perhaps 🤔 get one hahaha i love simple designs with texture like this! it’s a shame that the hardware gets scratches like this! the only thing i looo out for card holders is if it gets ‘loose’ after some times and if my card is actually protected because i know sometimes you can still create a bend and crease in your card. Or maybe it’s just me ? 😂 another great review though! very informative
Hahaha it’s honestly such a good quality card case and the design is just so elegant! Fortunately the scratches are only visible under certain light, but it’s still a bit of bummer. I have the same piece, mine does have a few scratches too, no chipping yet. All black hardware is painted, there will be chipping so I switch out mine once in awhile.

The card case is extremely cute!! Closest thing I got to owning anything YSL related was their lipstick (which made my wallet cry oof 😅)
Omg I've only purchased one lipstick from YSL and I used it for years. I still keep it for decor because I don't wanna throw it because it's so expensive lol

Card case nalang din gamit ko kasi small bag palagi ko dala pag lumalabas. Winter kasi dito naka jacket/coat and kung big bag dadalhin ko sagabal na cya sa buhay ko haha.
Hahahaha oo nga babe pag winter, and hirap madami dala. Mabigat na nga coats tapos pabigat pa mga bags lol
