Sir for scum blowdown do we directly overboard the oil which is accumulated on top area of the boiler or it goes to some tanks for prevention of pollution by oil ? I checked this online but I keep getting different answers
Yes if oil-water density has less than 15parts per million (15ppm) but We can't discharge any oil whose ppm is greater than 15 directly into the sea... Through scum valve it goes to oil drain tank further it transfer to oily bilge tank and rest of oily -water separation u know.
nice great work keep it up

Sir, is it allowed to discharge the contaminated oil from the scum valve directly overboard? Is there a regulation regarding discharge of that oil?
