If you need to take a break, do so! You have to take care of you! On the other hand...😭😭😭 I would really miss you! You have brought so much into my life. Not just recipes, but a kinmanship and validation for the way I have cooked for the last 35 years. Your insight and knowledge of GI and immunity/autoimmune issues has helped me so much! THANK YOU! Most importantly, you have helped me return to my Catholic faith. Keep your chin up!
After I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 25, I changed the way I live. I have been swapping out things 1 by 1 & making my own for most. I’m a Christian and know that there is a responsibility for me to treat my life well- I’m 28, living in a small 50’s home in Clackamas OR and we’re trying to make a life like this happen. We’d like to adopt, I’ll homeschool, and I will grow and make my own food. I do what I can now, where I’m at. But I watch you and your life and it’s inspiring. I have the same beliefs on the things shared on your UA-cam channel and so it’s obviously a non-negotiable. I just feel like I’m waiting- waiting on money to buy a home, waiting on money to adopt a child, money really is hindering us. But God will lead & he will provide. ❤️🙌🏻
I'm just north in WA. Keep praying. You could always foster-to-adopt. It requires a lot less money & provides for the children. I hope to get to a place in my life where I can do this, sooner rather than later.
Capitalism? I think you mean monopolies that are financially supported and heavily tied together with our Government. Capitalism in its true form, not what we see today, is the very thing that helped us build America and small businesses. This misunderstanding is leading so many to rage against Capitalism not realizing that’s our most free option in building an economy and a free market. People need to understand that what we see now is not truly Capitalism due to bail outs, Government ties, lobbying, and legislation that has turned them into, by definition, monopolies. Let’s all rail against monopolies, especially when the Government agencies get involved, not an actual free market capitalism.
Amen! It's amazing how few people understand how our economy works (or doesn't!). Not surprising since economics and civics are not taught in our public schools. Our system has been corrupted by the almighty dollar....Which as you pointed out is not capitalism.
Exactly! Capitalism is not the problem. And if Trump did not win this past election, this country was headed towards Marxism, forcing food shortages by design/policy and making it illegal in some states to even raise chickens in the backyard and growing your own produce. Look it up!
Hopefully the new administration will get rid of all the processed ingredients in our food and will start holding FDA accountable for all the junk they approve.
I greatly enjoy your videos even if there aren't new recipes! You inspire me to feed my family better and have sent me on a journey of discovering the evils of the food industry. Thank you for opening my eyes!
It’s not capitalism as a whole. There’s a difference between free market capitalism (which is great and what we used to have) and corporate capitalism (which is what we currently have and is extremely corrupt.) But I love the rest of this video and all the information! ☺️
So glad you made this video!! I preach about food to everyone and have totally changed my families diet. I have been watching your content for a year+ now. I had no idea you lived in Missouri until recently. We just sold everything and moved to south east Missouri in April. We are currently living in a camper with our two kids while we build our barndo style home by hand ourselves. Not sure how far you are from Naylor Missouri but if your interested in a fellow homeschool, homestead, Christian mama friend im here. It's hard finding like minded friends. I just find most woman get offended and defensive toward this way of living I usually open my mouth and offend someone 🤣. When you talked about offending people in your contraception topic I definitely giggled as it's so true. Most people don't want to hear truth. Grateful for your channel.
Capitalism is the freedom to buy and sell any good thing you want to. You can buy good food in America at this very moment. Socialism regulates what can and can't be sold and at what cost.
I'm a new subscriber- about 2 weeks now. I found you with the thrift haul and the wallpaper one. So, IDK you in any 'other' season. Lol. And you seem pretty creative to me! 9/10- I guess it's all in your perspective, and a day-to-day thing that only you can feel. You're so right about 'the seasons of life' though. I always expected to have little ones, and it would be the Happiest Season! But it wasn't. It was a big season of loss on top of a ton of busy little responsibilities. Just breathing, walking and enjoying the tiny previously meaningless day-to-day work got me through. No one can really understand the ups and downs from the inside, but accepting others, working to improve and serving our family with love are the smallest Important things ; )
I have really began to follow your channel recently. Watched on and off but in the last couple weeks I’ve been watching more and going back watching the older ones. I especially like the gut health ones and food videos. I love how you try to always educate your viewers on everything you do. This is a missing piece often especially the depths that you teach and share and educate as you do whatever it is you are doing.
Thank you for always showing up no matter what season of life you’re in. Love your wisdom and commentary on all things homemaking, motherhood, life and your opinions! All the little things, make a big difference and truly help me in so many ways. Just love you mama! ❤
you have been more encouraging to me in this difficult season, because i have been struggling with similar health issues. this has been one of my few go-to spots for refreshing why i need to stay on track. thank you for vulnerability and sharing knowledge!
I have the Wondermill Junior Delux hand mill and I love it. It is definitely a work out but I count that as a plus since I need the work out haha It comes with stone and steel burrs so you can change them out and do dry grains or you can do wet also and make masa and such. Really great product though with great reviews. Got mine brand new off of FB marketplace for $150 and it’s great. I do want to get an electric mill when we can afford it though just so I don’t ALWAYS have to have the workout every time I want to do freshly milled grain. Just makes it so I don’t always have the time to go fresh and I use store bought whole wheat instead :/
I got the electronic wondermill but I want to get the red hand crank one for emergencies and let's be honest, for the kids 😂 The electronic one and hand crank one are same price on Bread Beckers
Thank you!!!! I just found your channel and I love it.... I was so intimidated on doing sourdough and even more about the Starter; ; you explained it perfectly.... And I never thought making the starter was so easy..... Definitely now I can try it, but I have a question; can I use Any kind of flour for the starter? This is my first time doing it. Thanks....
New subscriber! You started talking about stepping away and I was like "Nooooo! I just found you!" 😊 Im about to purchase a grain mill even though I have never baked bread in my life. I was about to purchase a Wondermill Junior. Its manual with the option to use a motor, drill, or other attachments. The motor was way out of budget so I thought we would use the drill... well one with enough power would be another chunk of change that we cant swing right now. I thought I would share since it can be used manual or electric. I too was thinking about a grid down situation. Would be really nice. Apparently its really taxing to use as a manual though so I have decided on a Mockmill for now. Once I get milling Im going to make this pasta recipe except I may try making some gnocchi style noodles. One less gadget in the kitchen if it works. Great video. Im going to check out more! ❤
UA-cam just suggested this video and I absolutely love her and her content. I also really love her kitchen hanging lights and I was wondering if anyone knew or has seen them for sale on the Internet.
If you've never had fresh milled flour the taste will blow you away. Storebought flour taste like cardboard to us now. Tasting food the way God intended. So much better for us and delicious❤
Lovely video. I will be trying this. I have a manual grainmaker 99 mill. It is beautiful and heirloom quality and I would recommend it. But it is hard work to hand mill, and I don't have a sufficient place to attach it in my kitchen so it doesn't get used as it should. Hopefully I can rectify that this next year and work on my arm muscles.
Steph, I’m currently making your Pullman loaf with fresh hard white wheat! I got a Pullman pan and a nutrimill for Christmas! (Just a heads up your grams and metric measurements for the non sourdough version don’t match)
I saw you use Alexandre Farms milk. Their farm is about 2 miles from my home, and I go weekly to purchase my milk, heavy cream, and eggs (my chickens barely lay during the winter months). I also recently purchased a quarter beef from their beef cattle (100 pounds) completely grass fed and finished. No grains. Excellent products. Glad you found them.
Living by myself I have not yet invested in any mill or special blenders or mixers. I have Cuisinart blender from my wedding in 1994 and a hand and stand mixer from Hamilton Beach way cheaper than the mixers you all use on YT for videos. They work fine for me. I am partial to egg noodles and just buy the store bought dried wide egg noodles for any pasta or soup I make. Maybe someday I will invest in a grain mill and that Bosch mixer.
Just made pasta last week with freshly milk flour. It was my first time. The dish was so filling. By the way, I would watch you just talk and fold your laundry. No need to feel like you have to make elaborate curated videos.
I just received my first grain mill for Christmas! I am not currently consuming grains and am walking through the beginning of the Super Gut healing process. Which grain would you recommend for the best health benefits for my family? Also, where did you order your Super Gut yogurt cultures from? Any other advice on great sources to obtain items needed for healing the gut microbiome when living in an area where people aren’t super concerned about supplying gut healthy ingredients?

@@staceyculver4892I agree on the personal responsibility part but the Gov educated several generations on what is "heart healthy" "diabetic friendly" people truly believe boxed cereal is healthy and McDonald's French fries count as a vegetable. Low sodium Soy powder baby formula is acceptable, extreme low fat trend 70s/80s/90s, can go on and on and on....
I some how convinced my husband to buy the fancy pants manual grain mill in 2020. lol. I still can’t believe it. It’s been a wild 4 years. He totally thinks I’m crazy. (Not really but I wonder sometimes) I use my electric one but I have a manual one for the the end of h the world. 😂
I plan on using my manual coffee grinder when the zombies come...
Just an FYI to you & anyone else whom cares what organizations their money supports thrive market supports BLM, and I was not aware of this for a whole year until I received an email stating they now accept EBT and so I wondered why and looked on their website and there it was very boldly as I looked up what organizations they support. And as a Christian I can not support such . 😒
Can you better explain the connection between BLM, EBT, and Christianity?
