For those who may not be aware of the significance of this, to a Japanese drummer, this is like a westerb guitar player covering Voodoo Child, Hotel California, or Stairway to Heaven. Or a vocalist covering My Way, Rolling in the Deep, or Child of Time. To do it, you are stepping into sacred grounds. You better be good.... and because of it, you better have balls of steel. For Yoyoka to take on this song says everything about both her ability and her confidence.
Instead of saying how good she is, I say instead how much joy she gives.

これ見るとと言うか7歳の時のOnyxのライブ動画は特に好きな動画なので何度も見てます。
7歳の時のライブ動画を見るたびに思うのですが、とても7歳の女の子とは思えないスムーズなドラミングに毎回感心しています。
ドラムの上手い子は他にもいますが、どこか必死な感じであったり一生懸命叩くのが精一杯な子がほとんどだと思います。
そんな中よよかちゃんは7歳の時点ですでにライブ中他のパートの音を聞いて合わせていて、大人達の心配を他所に最後まで叩き切っている動画はもっと再生回数が伸びてもいいのになあと思っています。
まさに仰る通りですね。私もライブでこそYOYOKAちゃんの「違い」が際立つと思っています。
特に日本では、早いテンポで叩けるとか手数が多いとか正確に叩けるとか変拍子もこなせるとか、そういうテクニカルな観点で(のみ)「うまい」と評価される傾向が強いと思うのですが、そういう点ではYOYOKAちゃんと同じか或いはそれ以上に「うまい」子は他にもいるのかもしれませんね。ですが、YOYOKAちゃんのようにバンドとしてのグルーヴを創り出せるドラマーは本当に稀有な存在だと思います。しかもこの年齢で！
ライブ演奏は勿論ですが、カバー演奏であってもDreamin'やBlack Dogのようなライブバージョンのカバーやスタジオ録音でもクリックも無かった時代のうねるようなテンポで演奏されているクラシックロックのカバー演奏をまるでその場で一緒に叩いているかのようにバンドと一体となったグルーヴを再現しているのは本当に凄いと思います(細かい所のアレンジが違うとかそういう事ではないんですよね(笑))
突き詰めるとドラマーに求められるものとは何なのか？もっと言えば生演奏で感動が生まれるのは何故なのか？という話になるような気がします。(正確なリズムが欲しいのならリズムマシーンで打ち込みでやればいいだけですからね)
長くなりましたが、既にYOYOKAがYOYOKAである事を教えてくれる小さい頃のライブ映像はみんなに見て貰いたいですね😊
@@taka_n6370 さん 私も同感です、東京のライブで観た時のメンバーがベーシストは経験豊富な女性ベーシストのJUNNAさんでしたがピアニストは普段はクラシック系で独奏の多い人若手の男性でしたが実にスムース何度も共演しているような演奏でした。その理由は最近の動画 Zepp Ocan で共演したベースの Ellen のチャンネルにUPされている Ellen ＆ Yoyoka Q ＆ A と言う動画の中でYoyokaさんあての質問に【セッションの時に何を一番考えていますか】に対しての回答は【共演者の演奏全てを聴きながらどのように叩いたら全体が良くなるか考えている】と当然のように答えていました。

When I was a kid my parents would take me to parades just so I could see the drummers, I wanted to be a drummer. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. Watching Yoyoka through the years is awesome. Thanks 🐰🥁🐰🥁🐰

I see a few outrageous young drummers on you tube, but they seem to be about isolated technique and tricks, but this kid proves her worth as a complete musician within a band. Outrageous and beautiful to watch and listen to.
And she’s like this on everything. It doesn’t matter what the genre is. It’s never about the tricks, it’s about the groove. She’s got an internal clock like Ringo Starr’s. What will strike you over and over is how musical she sounds. Also how ridiculously natural she is at it.

Excellent cover. Given his age, Yoyoka pulls the pin of his game very well. Senri co-composed this title at the age of 16 for his second album "Buena vista", released in 2014.
It is difficult to compare these two extraordinary talented drummers. One has a rather rock and pop-music sensibility, the other develops her talent in jazz-rock and jazz-fusion and now more and more towards jazz (The Jazz Avengers, for example). Two very different approaches. But two very precocious talents. It is a real pleasure to see and hear them both.

Yes, Yoyoka is not quite at Senri's level yet, but of course Yoyoka knows that. That is why she is always practicing, learning, playing and working on improving.

Ask yourself, how many Peter Green penned songs are still played on the radio today? And how many Stevie Nicks songs are? There's no comparison. (Although to be wholly honest, Christine McVie wrote some pretty damn good lyrics too.)
You're like the same kind of person that swears constantly the Pink Floyd was better when Syd Barrett was writing their songs. It's possible to appreciate Syd Barrett's contributions to early Pink Floyd while still admitting that David Gilmore is a far more talented guitarist than his friend ever was, and that Roger Waters was a far more inspired lyricist.
@@tarmaque no I just thought early Mac was better, more blues orientated, which is my preference. As for Floyd, they were ground breaking in their time, but I far prefer Roger Waters Amused to death with Jeff Beck’s guitar work.

No, I don't mean the music... sure... close your eyes and it's Dave Portnoy or a young Terry Bozzio... no, it's our cute little Yoyoka but with a stolid bushido expression attacking the song like a Samurai warrior with oak sticks.
No, what we are witnessing is the musical equivalent of MOORE'S LAW. Moore's law, for computers, states that the machine will double in power and function within 18 months or so (paraphrasing all this). I think we are seeing this in Yoyoka! I've been following her since she was 6 and her talent has skyrocketed in the past year to two years (I am/was a practicing/professional musician for over 40-years so I know of what I speak). I have never seen anyone come so far, so fast and hone those skills so perfectly in such a short time.
I can't wait to see what this amazing talent will do in the coming years. Mark my words, she will not only be one of the greatest drummers in the world (and in history) but if she keeps exploring other instruments and listening to the music in her head, one of the greatest artists of all time as long as she has the peace to open herself to the universe and let it flow through her.
Yoyoka, if you ever have time, please read Miyamoto Musashi's "Book of Five Rings"... apply it to music... it will help you greatly; especially when transcending styles and dealing with the stresses. Embrace the void (sunyata)!
