Great summary. A couple of things from my reading. I wonder if Shem, Ham and Japheth were triplets. Never thought about it in previous readings of Genesis, but definitely my thought from today. Perhaps readings in the following days will dash that. We’ll see. My challenge is that I want to be like Enoch. To walk with God. What a wonderful testimony to Enoch. May that be my purpose going forward. God bless.
I suspect they might have been triplets, because it says they were all born when Abraham was 500 years old (and Abraham only had one wife). I haven't found anything in the proceeding chapters that suggests they couldn't have been triplets.
Good explanation and this is one of the easier genealogies to follow compared to later Bible studies. Side note, seeing Noah mentioned made me remember a chapter I read in book of Ezekiel chapter 14 where The Lord told Ezekiel if Noah, Job, and Daniel were among the the people in Judah who were worshipping idols and sinning, they would be the only 3 saved because of their righteousness.
I love the point you ended on however is there any more information that may be able to answer if these numbers have any specific meaning I feel as if the Bible is written in a pneumatic form for us to have been able to pass it on throughout so many generations verbally and made it easier for us to recall, but was intended for us to decipher at our own time. There is so much symbology in the years that they lived and when they had their kids so and so forth, and I’m curious as to why it is written like this. It could also be a traditional Hebrew miss understanding they counted a bit different that we do now but I’m curious.
it is important to note that the genealogy given is of Seth who is Middle eastern families. Its important to note that Cain had a wife too and so must have had a genealogy.
If you translate all the names in that genealogy it reads : Man (is) Appointed Mortal Sorrow; (but) The Blessed God Shall come down Teaching His death shall bring The despairing Comfort, rest
🌻💛Thanks & Amen💛🌻
