Goto Advance Auto Parts buy this generic GM Shift Linkage Bushing - Part# 14055 made by Dorman $11.99. There will be two parts in there. Use only the clear flexible piece. I recommend a small flat head screwdriver to push wiggle it in.

THANK YOU!! This happened to me coming back from lunch today. Your video helped me!!!! There’s a little plastic cap that keeps it from moving. Mine is cracked which caused it to come off. Thankfully, it was still sitting there and I just put it back in until I can replace it. Thank you again!!

This guy "fixed" the problem for me but I don't think it's gonna last. Can I go to a Chevy dealer, and due to recall, will they fix it for me on my 2005 Malibu? Thanks!

I did it on mine but it keeps going out of its place when i try to shift it on any position and trying to get it to park wont let me
Maybe you might need a Shift Bushing to keep it in place.
