Mikoto(Milgram) - MeMe (Piano Arr.)

So Milgram is a song project by DECO*27, which is pretty cool. I recommend you guys to check this project out, it’s full of cool songs, stories, theories and characters. (Link: / milgramofficial ) This is the most popular song from Milgram called “MeMe” (Pronounced me-me), a song of a character named Mikoto, so I arranged this song as a gift for his birthday! :)

The song starts off with a very intense, metal sounding kinda thing, and that’s why I made this arrangement really hard to play(almost unplayable). At 0:10, I tried many times to imitate epic drums in the original song, but none of them sounded good, so I decided to replace them with apreggios, which worked really well. The line switching three hand technique first appears at 0:45, I tried to keep the melody of the guitar riff in the background, while also maintaining the main melody and the percussive sound in the song.

The B section of this song (1:01) switches from A minor mode to C major mode, from 8/8 to 6/8, and also the change in color. This section is much more chilling. You can see that there are 2 melodies on the RH, and some BRUTAL 11th. (笑)

And we’re back to the first section at 1:38. Except, the guitar riff thing in the main verse are moved down to the bass, just to prevent repetition.

Now, my least favourite part of this arrangement, the bridge (2:17). I decided to borrow the LH pattern from Chopin, which doesn’t sound very well because it sounds more of a dance-y feeling than a tragic feeling. I wanted to change the pattern into arpeggios, but I’m too lazy haha.

I used the same LH pattern as the bridge in the coda (3:05), which worked A LOT better. However, at 3:34, you can see the repetition in the LH, and yes, that’s because of my laziness again. (笑)
