Ok Miss Lucy. You are forgiven for opening and having fun with your Birthday gifts early. As my kid often tell me. It just makes your Birthday last longer!! So we have Birthday months instead of just Birthdays.

Happy birthday Lucy! 17th isn't it? My birthday was early May. I did get a tin of White Nights pastel shade watercolours that I had asked for. But that was it re art materials. The rest was edibles. These are a lovely birthday gift.
Good luck with the house move. Don't downsize too much, you need a studio!

Lucy, first off have a wonderful birthday and enjoy your day. Great idea using the paper with pencil names. Keven, wow, thank you for sending Lucy such lovely gifts. Lucy, I must tell you that you are an amazing teacher. Your videos( YOU), inspire and encourage me in more ways than you can know. I love how you do your videos, showing how to things step by step and then coming back with completed sections.
Good luck with r bungalow. I have never heard of house swooping for rental properties in my life. What a concept.
Would love to see you do skin with these. Also I now know what I’m doing wrong, coloring too heaven any pushing to hard with the paper stump. 💖💐💖

I have the set of Pitt pastels but would never have thought of using them on colouring book paper until you mentioned liking them in some of your books. They really do work beautifully and probably slightly quicker to use. The way they erase is a big bonus too! Obviously the paper took the fixative well, so no nasty smudges. You said you used a workable fixative - do you need a more permanent one once you have finished?
I also have a set if silicone, I think, blenders which I bought during my first dabbling with painting around 1998 when I was looking for something I could do despite my newly diagnosed ME. I think they still sell them though; like a paint brush but with a pliable, shaped tip. Not cheap but much easier and cleaner to use than tortillons for blending. If I can find them I’ll let you know where you can get them.
I tried out a number of mediums when I was getting started and found that my more successful efforts were done with pastel pencils. (You may be wondering why I’m not a competent artist from that long ago. Ssadly, I had a heart attack in 2003 when just over fifty and never painted another picture. It was the concept of colouring books which piqued my interest again, Fortunately I had kept all the art supplies I had so just needed a colouring book). Now I have to get over the mental block which is preventing me from actually putting pencil to paper. I find your videos, Lucy, are beginning to get me thinking more positively but I still look at a picture and think how nice it will look coloured but just don’t know where to start, even though I’ve watched you do it and pick out the colours. I seem to have this fear I won’t be able to do it, almost phobic. I want to be part of the colouring community but my ME and brain fog etc are holding me back. Every time I watch Lucy I feel a little closer to trying. So for that, Lucy, I am so grateful.
I nearly deleted this rambling but I guess there are others out there struggling with mental health problems and it might help them to know others have similar difficulties. I am so lucky to have lots of beautiful supplies collected over time I MUST sort myself out.
Glad to hear you have another chance to get the home you need, I’m keeping everything crossed for you, Lucy.
With love 💗 and hugs Juliexx
PS. I am working on finding out what is causing our emails not to arrive.

Hello my lovely friend. Julie just a thought could you get a second copy of a book and practice in it first so it's not so scary. I hate to think of you worrying to use your supplies x x

Beautiful colouring, as always Lucy. Why shouldn't you use your lovely Birthday gifts?!?!?! They are yours to do with as you like. The taller blue flowers look like Muscari, commonly known as grape hyacinth, not to be confused with "actual" hyacinths. Fingers crossed for the house swap. Sending down loads of Scottish bosies (hugs)

Hi Lucy. Happy Birthday wishes to you. This little page looks so beautiful. Thanks so much for doing this great demo of the pastel pencils. They are lovely. I really liked the idea of showing the pencil names and numbers on the sheet at the side too. I hope you’ll continue with that. Also I’d really appreciate seeing a more intricate page done with these pencils if you are willing. Oh and those purple flowers looked like grape hyacinths to me but not positive. Hope everything works out for you with the house swap. I’ll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Can’t wait to see the next video. Have a wonderful day.

Beautiful work 😻 as always! I looked at these pencils when I ordered pastel pencils but, I went with the CarbOthello pastel pencils. They are unbelievably pigmented. These look very nice as well. I like the list you made. Very helpful. 🤩❣️🎉

I picked up a set of 72 Carbothello pencils from Ebay. I like old pencils. They are probably from the 80's by the look of the tin art. They are superb pencils, as you say, so pigmented.
