I noticed immediate throttle response, and noticed a real bump off the line, by the time I reached approximately 110 miles, and started a trip, it improved noticeably, and my BMW normally driving the same route would average about 18-20 MPG, no lie I’m getting 22-25 on same routes! I also bought the “Y” Adapter and purchased a “BlueDriver” to monitor plug in, and am ale to monitor any systems I want, up to 5 at a time,such as “ intake manifold temperature, pressure, fault codes, suggested part replacement codes, and even MPH and Tourque”, and hundreds of other bits of info, all in real time. You can save and print reports to show your mechanic, or in my case, what I was quoted as an $850 job to replace a negative battery cable sensor, and bought the same part he was going to charge me $450 for, on Amazon for $145 and installed it myself in 15 minutes myself saving over $700. Everything is Bluetooth with only the short “Y” cable exposed, which I moved with a zip tie out of the way. I watch all the live data on my cellphone using a vent holder where I can still see my Navigation and other data from my cars iDrive system!
I've got Thorton Chips in my 2002 S10 2.2 & my wifes 2011 HHR 2.2 I noticed better gas mileage on both vehicles.. My S10 went from 18 MPG city to 22 MPG so far after a 5 day install.. My wifes HHR went from 21.3 MPG to 24 MPG in just a 3 day install..that alone is great..I know it'll get better as I put more miles on both vehicles
Just put the chip in 3 days ago and what an increase in power , only drove 40 miles so far so will have to wait for the MPG increase, so far very happy… thanks bro
As an old time hot rodder we knew that seat of the pants.... you could not feel anything less than about 10hp gain. With heavier modern cars it is probly closer to 20 hp gain before you can feel it. In two of my vehicles I used the thorton chips. one is my 74 pickup (with 2000 ls driveline) and the other is my 2014 Charger RT. The truck weighs 3200 lbs and it made a huge difference. I would not hesitate to say 30hp.... The Charger weight is 4200 lb but there is a real difference. My best guess for the charger is 15-20 additional hp you really can feel it. And yeah....oddly the stock air intake on the charger now sounds louder. The truck has a cold air intake and it really howls now. Both cars sound a bit nastier now.
Got a stage 3 for my 2001 celica gt almost a year ago. Rebuilt engine, 90% new (and aftermkt) parts on a block with 89k miles. Did 3 baselines, filled the tank and ran it almost sputtering. With the chip i get 75 extra miles on a full tank, thats 5.17 mpg (a/c off) better (combined, I'm getting highway mpg in the city, don't drive on the freeway as i run 15x8.5 wheels on spacers). The throttle response is unreal, there is no lag and the shift is seamless (like an 8). It pulls hard and redlines 6k at 55 (in 1rst). In THEORY I'm making 60 more hp than a gts. I don't want to waste 2k to get it dyno'd and currently researching gps based apps (or i could always go to the tracks) get a baseline mph and learn math. Lol, even kept up with a tesla the first 60 (it got ugly after 61.....). I cant promise the same results for everyone, but my chip works.
No it doesn't. You cannot make 60 horsepower and get better mpg. That's not how physics works. An actual full dyno tune with 3 maps is $600. If you call a dyno shop, and ask them if you can just hook up to test these scam products, they'll probably laugh at you and may let you do it free just to show you how dumb you are. If they do charge you, expect $200 not $2000. A tesla 0-60 is like 3 seconds. A delicate manual (faster than your auto) is 6.6 seconds. 60 horsepower fake gain you claim makes your 0-60, still 6.6 seconds most likely. You would be miles behind a tesla
I have towed it to the georgia State Park, and I believe I brought it up in that video but all in all it did amazing towing I was very surprised. But I have since then traded my tacoma for a f150 to be more safe

It blinks pretty colors though if that’s worth 90 dollars to you. I got one of these for my Challenger before I saw the reviews on it and ya it does squat except blink.

Sorry dude it doesn’t work i hear. I ordered one for my Challenger so I can check the 0-60 times so I’ll do it with and without the chip but I don’t think it will do anything but I got it before I saw the reviews saying it was a scam and does nothing. I really think you need a profession tune to get extra horses and really you will only get 10 more horses with a professional tune. I would say he’s just thinking he feels a different reaction because he already had it in his head it would work. I seriously doubt it will make my Challenger any faster. Now I notice a difference when I put a air induction kit on but I’ll probably get nothing out of this chip.
Not sure about other vehicles but the tacoma constantly struggles from factory this helped me. That's why I put tacoma in the title. I cannot speak for other makes and models just my experience with my vehicle.

All these people get paid by thorton to make these videos so youll buy a blinking light for $100 dollars. You cant just make 60 horsepower from every car ever made by having a "chip" fuck with your AFRs. Thorton claims every single stage 3 chip makes exactly 60hp from every car You gonna tell me a 78hp mitsubishi mirage makes 130hp cuz of a computer chip? Look into real tuners. Call a local dyno tuning shop in your area and ask if they can get sixty extra horsepower from any non turbo engine. 100% of them will say no. These people will go into your engine computer and manually crank every single possible parameter to the max, properly, and youd get like 10 horsepower

Late to the video but recently bought 2022 Tacoma trd pro, which one do you recommend of the chips to get? The 60hp?

As far as the chip it appears to be still working not as much torch but gas mileage on the highway is 22 to 23 mpg and it used to be 19 to 21 mpg

No regrets so far. It's not as fast as it was 1st installed but I made it up the GA Mountains pulling a camper with no issues.

It's a scam. Manipulates the ECU. Doesn't work. It made my 17 Mustang WORSE. And I only have 63k miles on it. No power increase or MPG.
