Link returns from the battle to find Zelda and Groose, and the three return to the Temple of Hylia, where they meet with Impa and prepare to return to their own time. At Fi’s behest, Link plunges the Master Sword into a pedestal in the Sealed Temple, leaving it and his partner behind now that her purpose to guide Link has been fulfilled. Just before she enters “a sleep without end”, Fi tells Link that while she is unable to feel true emotion, Fi never goes away from a heart ❤️ was her a wonderful free moment by her when in defeated Demise is over she feels something best equated to happiness due to her time spent with Link. Despite Zelda’s pleas better than me some good Impa very she daughter say goodbye friends.
Over the course of many years, Link has had a number of companions along the way. First was Navi, then came Tatl, Tetra (to a bit of a lesser extent), and Midna. And then we have Fi. Fi. A name that causes some people to recoil in horror. A name that causes some people to dredge up only memories of long winded explanations, statistics, and battery reminders. To this day, Fi remains one of the most divisive companions Link has ever had. I, however, feel this hate is unwarranted. Fi, the spirit of the Goddess Sword, is left waiting for the Hero to fulfil his destiny. When the day arrives, Fi's instructions and orders are laid out in a very logical, and meticulous way. Fi, at this point, is here for one goal, and one goal only: Assist the Hero in any way. And we see this. Fi will provide the Hero, Link, guidance in a very cold and logical manner. "Go here." "Do this." "This is your most likely outcome." Fi is effectively barking orders at us, and we comply. And then, as you play, you notice a shift. It's slight. It's subtle. But it is a shift. Fi begins to become less concerned with a straightforward, no-nonsense plan, and begins to empathize and even care for link. She warns you when your health is low, and you should consider drinking a potion, or reviving your health. She begins to show concern for your mission and the potential peril it can cause you. She begins to be less of a mindless machine with only one goal. She begins to experience emotion. Near the end, Fi looks back at everything with a bittersweet lens. She knows that she fulfilled her mission, and guided the Hero to victory. She knows that she did well. But she knows what must happen next: To remain within the now Master Sword for all time, never to be re-awakened. She looks at Link near the end and doesn't talk to him as a servant of the goddesses, but as a friend. She knows her time is at an end, and she allows a moment of humanity to be expressed. Fi's final speech to Link before the Master Sword is returned to its pedestal is enlightening. Fi knows her time is at an end, and the way she tells link to put the sword back is direct. Fi appears to want the moment to end quickly, as if to quell the pain of knowing that she will no longer be by her Master's side. She refers to your travels together as a "companionship", implying that there is a sense of fondness for Link. She then steels herself in the Master Sword and awaits her fate. As Link drives the sword back into the pedestal, the atmosphere is bittersweet. You've completed a heroic task, but have lost a friend along the way. Link looks at the sword, and begins to walk away with a somber look on his face. Fi then reaches out to Link one last time... She fully admits that in the beginning, she was just following orders, and that's all she cared about. But along the way, she watched Link grow into the Hero. She watched you build friendships, make others happy, and show compassion and empathy for others. You taught her how to feel those emotions, and through your journey, she grew closer and closer to you. For the first time, she believes she has felt something she has never felt before... Happiness. In her final moments, Fi thanks you for the time you spent together, and for the memories she will forever have while she resides in the Master Sword. "Thank you, Master Link. May we meet again in another life..." You may have hated Fi's constant intrusions in the beginning. You may have been annoyed by her interruptions. But at the end of it all, she was happy to be there with you. She was happy to be your partner... Your companion. Godspeed, Fi. And thank you.
If it helps, I'd go with Noriaki Sugiyama AND Sam Riegel as Skyward Sword Link, Maaya Sakamoto AND Alexis Tipton as Skyward Sword Zelda, Kana Ueda AND Mela Lee as FI, Ai Orikasa and Erin Fitzgerald as Impa, Hiroshi Kamiya and Matt Mercer as Groose, AND Fumihiko Tachiki and Paul St. Peter as Demise. Link's always gotta talk casually like a punk in Japanese AND English, like, "It looks GOOD on ya, babe!", "I ain't sure 'bout this. My bird ain't comin' yet.", "Ain't nothin' gettin' past me!", "Gimme back my bird, damn it!", "Hell, yeah! I promise I'll do my best ta wake you up!", "Mornin', sleepin' beauty.", "Yeah! I'mma wait for ya in the afterlife!", "You's gonna regret this!", "Damn right! I'll see ya there, Demise!", "Yer evil murders just ain't gonna slide! So I'll stop ya so I save Zelda again!", "Now y'ain't murderin' nobody else, 'cuz I stabbed yer heart ta save Zelda, Groose, Impa, AND everybody else who's still breathin' in our time. All with righteous justice!", "The hell? This light's glowin' with the King's power." AND "You kiddin'? I wanna stay here 'cuz I luv ya. It's YOU I wanna be with. So yeah. We's gonna be together forever." I want Link, Zelda, Impa, Groose, Demise, Pipit, Karane, Hyila, AND most characters to have the usual North American accent.
A few hundred years after this game a zonai named Rauru shows up to become the first king of Hyrule. Shortly after the Ganondorf is born from demise's curse. Ganondorf defeats all of the sages who stand up to him until Rauru figures out a way to beat him temporarily. Rauru uses his arm to seal Ganondorf and his body is left in the deepest depths of Hyrule to be forgotten by time. Eventually another Ganondorf is born, not as powerful, but still pretty strong. Ganondorf/Ganon is killed on multiple timelines. Peace reigns for a while. Thousands of years later calamity Ganon is born from residual energy from the original Ganondorf. Calamity Ganon is stopped by shieka technology. 10000 years later calamity Ganon returns, wreaks all sorts of havoc but is eventually destroyed by Link and Zelda. Unfortunately, the great Calamity loosened the seal on the original Ganondorf and he was finally able to break free and unleash gloom onto Hyrule. But it's not enough, and he is once again defeated by Link. This is my head canon. I believe that this is how the timeline works. You can argue all you want but I will die on this hill
The Master Sword's resting place. We will always be together, Link and Fi.
ngl, the legend of groose actually has a nice ring to it
I beat this game 4 years ago, But it's still leaving me in tears
