he is deaf but he has been the most mellow and observant and supportive man of all the 90 day fiances and seems real. wow

OMG this a reality shows that is showing how the rest of the world live. When others travel to third world countries all they see are fancy hotels and a few nice tourist spots. Never would they venture into a local village or make friends with the locals people living in these countries. People can not help their living situations. Not everywhere has running water and electricity. She said her home was affected by a typhoon. Give the girl a break she is trying to survive like more than 80% of the world’s population
I think her mom was waiting to meet the man who was going to care for her daughter and grandkids, she was probably relieved and who knows maybe she was ready to go peacefully. Condolences to her family 😢

Seems like my mom she passaway a month after she meet my American boyfriend.she knew that I cant live without her she is my world. she make sure that there's some one to catch me because she knows I will be fall when she's gone. I'm with the Man happily married for 4 years now I couldn't ask for more I'm so lucky he is the best hubby❤.

It wasn't a coincidence for me, and I know some parent still fighting to still with their relatives until their jobs are done, and then go to a peacefully sleep.

I think Sheila is in love with David. This is the first time anyone has actually shown vulnerability on this show. Their love is real and it shows.
Their love is such a stark contrast to the relationships we usually see on the show. It’s pure and genuine instead of selfish and materialistic. I hope someone looks at me like he looks at her. So beautiful ❤

I think Sheila was just overwhelmed and embarrassed. She had to show her boyfriend , a stranger (The interpreter) , and the rest of the World how she lives. I hope these two work out and Sheila is in my prayers .. Seeing her cry at the funeral broke my heart 💔

Correct. All SE Asians are very concerned about their houses particularly very extremely poor women like her. She is the typical woman with a fake designer handbag with a basic outfits probably thrifted or donated by charities. The villagers are well aware of their situation so this is her chance to move to first world country America. She should work harder like beautiful Rose from Philippines to gain fans

Idk who jasmine is but I’m going to defend the rent thing, me and my mom live in a 2000 dollar a month rented upstairs apartment, but thats cheap for the city we live in, we couldn’t find anything cheaper, and we moved to this city to help out our elderly cousins

Sheila speaks one of the dialects in the Philippines (bisaya), which makes it hard to learn Filipino but she managed. After she learned Filipino, she studied English which still needs some improvement. After learning all those three, that's only the time she would be able to learn ASL. So you guys shouldn't judge her that much, she has a hard life and learing more languages is quite harder since most aren't even used much, especially at their place.
Its not a dialect its a language. Cebuano is a language. And shes from Cebu. Just correcting you. But yeah it takes time to learn ASL. So it's nice that shes actually learning sign language for him.

Her jealousy is built off of the shame she feels for her family being poor. She is feeling vulnerable, and that can create irrational behavior. I really feel for her. Especially after coming home, and her mom dying the next day.

I think most Americans would have been shocked and concerned and tried to find a better living situation for their partner and their partner’s family. The reality is that the majority of the Americans that appear on this show are sending money to their partners. They wouldn’t do that if they didn’t have a basic understanding that they are privileged but it’s still always a shock when you see it for the first time.
All I was thinking of was the big Ed scenes while watching this episode.. I agree David handled it well.

It is totally understandable for Sheila to feel bad and jelous when she sits like a third wheel while her man and this young girl can laugh and talk so freely. She is trying to learn but she needs time, and her feelings are normal valid and okay. It shows that she cares. They need time to build more trust and close that language barrier.

Dude, he could have learned how to lip read too so it goes both ways. Besides interpreter is a snot, bragging how it took her a month to learn and downing shiela. No way, I'd rather learn from an interpreter who respects me and one who I connect more with if this is the case. Besides, earlier shiela expressed possible jealousy asking if his wife signing was better communicating for David and he changed the topic, remember? So why would he be dumb enough to hire a female interpreter knowing it would hurt shiela's feelings?

Sheila is a bit insecure and that’s understandable. She has too much invested in this relationship. At least she’s honest about it. That’s a good first step. I really hope it works out for them.

David seems like an empath to me. Just by the look of his eyes, he seems like he was genuinely concerned about her and her family's living situation. Someone else would have judged and refused to sleep there.

If I recall correctly, Hazel also had a very similar living situation and Tarik was humbled by it and took care of her, made sure she had a place to stay before he left to go back to America. Not every American is Big Ed!!!

I’ve never pulled for a couple as much as these 2. Usually I watch these couples w/amusement & even derision (well, the Americans mostly), but these 2 I GENUINELY love together.
This host is gorgeous...and I am talking about her inside. A pretty face is appreciated, but a beautiful heart is priceless.
She's not feeling "jealous". She's AFRAID David will communicate & therefore emotionally bond with another...therefore, she won't be able to finally leave her horrible situation.

true! filipino men are most emotionally abusive and they cheat. Reason that the Philippines dont have divorce. My father is one and my mom is emotionally damage and blaming all her pains to me. Now I have ptsd from all the traumas but I am getting the therapy and help for my relationship. I hope I will get better. US is the place where I feel spiritual freedom.

It’s hard to see people living that way. Even if you are used to it I’d say it still has to be awful hard doing it. It’s sad that a lot of countries don’t have low income or affordable housing. Everyone deserves to have a decent place to live. And I don’t mean like the projects but something better than what they have. Here in the US a lot of communities are popping up with what they call tiny homes. And while they may be small some bigger than others they offer everything a regular house would and they are really nice.
We a lot people's living below the poverty lines in many states here in the us.

I think it’s good Americans see this despair. But my experience in watching this show has shifted. This is not entertaining. It’s depressing.
Sheila is very authentic. If you love someone it’s normal to be insecure and jealous, esp Sheila came from so little. At least she didn’t take it out on David and she is controlling her emotions pretty well.
No it is not normal to be insecure if you love someone. When you love someone and you 2 have trust there should not be any insecurity.

This is not just a relationship to Sheila. This is her way of providing her son a future, getting her basic needs met, taking care of her elderly. Her situation is so serious I can understand why she falls apart at the idea of David being taken away. If he leaves her he is affecting her whole family’s future.

Anyone else wondering if his heavier american weight was what weakened the stairs that were nailed in and that’s what caused the dilapidated stairs to give way? The stairs literally gave way the day after he climbed up them and that’s how her mom died. Also the crew went up the stairs as well. So sad.
Well as filipino myself , this is the reality . The good thing is that she is honest to him and am very proud of her. Shella you will be okay. That's what I would have done.
David also didn't have much, that's why he booked that cheap hotel which turned out to be worse than he expected. I guess he could have gotten a better place in Manila but here they are in Cebu which is quite expensive.
As a former ASL interpreting student, yes people are human but we are bound to only being a 'middle link' and can't interject our feeling or opinions (hard for me). She did well trying to hold her expressions. When I met my ex I learnt ASL cause I felt the same frustration ❤. I can't wait to see this unfold.

I think the main reason sheila do not speak ASL maybe because they mainly communicate via chat. And with her economic and family background it is actually quite surprising that she is quite fluent and confident in speaking english. I do think that needs to be appreciated. Like they talk by phone, but she is using english. Not some shitty translator application like some of previous couple did

This was and still is common. I’m fortunate to be “middle class” in America because these were the conditions my parents were leaving from. My father was a farm boy so life was chill, but my mother was a city girl. My dad said when he first met my mom and family at her place that’s when he decided he wanted to marry her and bring her a better life.
They’re in their 60’s now about to retire comfortably with piece of shit kids (my brother and I hahaha). With much maturing I’ve come to remind myself of my parents struggle and learned that you don’t need to scold them anymore when they annoy you. Let them vent , listen to their advice and take it or leave it as you need. We really are fortunate living here. It’s still rough, but the situation would be verrryyy different elsewhere.
