Roti canai list. Roti kosong(empty) Roti telur(egg) Roti banjir(flooded with curry) Roti telur goyang(half cooked egg on top) You can go to any roti stall and order from this list. Theres also variety of roti with banana, milo, sardine, roti tissue etc.
The dal curry (lentils) is usually not too spicy , beef and chicken curry usually has a certain level of spiciness. Im surprised there's no roti canai menu, my fav is roti with sardines. The trendy roti is sarang burung (bird's next) not for you tho cuz it 2 eggs not fully cooked in the middle.
There are numerous places where you can get good roti canai (it's a common dish in Penang and other parts of Malaysia). A side note: this particular stall on Transfer Rd had been cited by local health authorities a few times in the past... you'll probably be okay but pls research the places you go to eat. 😊
The normal way, people eat it with hand. Break apart the roti then dip it in the gravy (with your hand). Make sure to wash up your hand before. You eat at Mamak roti canai. It’s different from Malay roti canai. Malay roti more crunchy. Gravy also less spicy. Normally chicken or beef curry..
Well, you need to try one piece with egg and the other without and do try Roti Planta , Roti Tissue and Roti With Chili and Onion! Like your morning breakfast in Penang and in fact you can get them anywhere in Malaysia! Cheers and thanks for coming to Mas!
Asian food is unlike western food where you need to follow certain ways of eating it. In Asia, it depends on how you want savour it. For example, Roti Canai, you can enjoy it any way you like. You can dip it in the curry or have a spoon of curry or whatever, I personally love to drench all of the Roti Canai in curry. It would get soggy and spongy but that's how I ;like my Roti Canai, having the bread soaked in all the flavour of the curry. And with regards to the gravy, you can eat Roti Canai with anything really. Not necessarily curry. Some love it with lentil curry while I personally love to have it with fish curry with red chilli sambal just to give it that kick (which I know white people are sorry to say, a wuss when it comes to spicy food). Some even have it with just plain white sugar and it still tastes amazing. So it all depends on your tastebuds. Like I said, we don't follow strict rules of how we eat our Asian cuisine in general unlike The West. Interesting fact, in Malaysia, it's called Roti Canai but here in Singapore we call it "Roti Prata". The preparation is the same. It's just the name that's different. And by the way, Roti Canai/Prata tastes heavenly if you match it with Teh Tarik. I could have it like all day everyday and never get sick of it. Another fact is that, here in Singapore, we have different varieties of Prata/Canai. We have cheese, chocolate, bananas, tower, etc. Google types of Singapore prata, you'd be amazed.
If the sauce look red, you my have to order teh ais or any iced drink. Ice my cool down the spicyness 👌 if you not daring enough, just asked for dhal sauce 😁
Love this installment! 1) You pick up on dining cues by scanning the room. 2) You aren't afraid to ask questions. 3) The GPS alert got me every time aha
Black cat superstition came about because back in the day witches used to keep black cats. Not too sure if the witches ate plain or egg roti canai. Great spoon and fork technique attacking the roti btw.
The first roti canai place you walked pass is famous for its roti sarang burung and its roti bakar (toasts) - both dishes served with runny eggs - something you wouldn’t want to have. 😅
Almost eat there but then I heard some negative reviews. My favourite roti canai for breakfast is Roti Canai Istimewa Aziz. They are popular for their roti canai + sardine curry since the 80's. You love sardine, right? The only thing is you need to travel a little bit because it's on the mainland 😅
Yesss waiting you for so long to try the real Malaysian local food! The one you eat here is call Mamak, which is Indian Muslim stall. Malaysia is so diverse that we have different local Chinese, Malay and Indian restaurant. Hope you can try them out! Just to let you know there are plenty types of roti, the one you eat called roti telur (egg), you can also try the ordinary one called roti canai, or roti planta, roti sardin, roti milo roti pisang, roti tisu (is a must), and so on.
If you love the gravy on your roti, you have to tell them to "banjir" (flood) it with the curry you love most (I personally gravitate to fish curry because it has the sour twang). Enjoy your next brekkie
Roti Canai, a popular breakfast dish in Malaysia, has recently been crowned the world's number 1 bread, according to a recent post by TasteAtlas. You are so lucky.
Why they only give you the beef sambal?? They should gave you the dhal curry..fyi everytime you eat roti canai it must come with dhal curry..and beef sambal should be an option if you want some spiciness..it is ok it's your first time..next time you know what to do..cheers! 😊
Can i ask you something why are you so beautiful? Look at the beautiful stars in the sky, is that you? Look at the beautiful sunset and your face is there too. ☺️☺️☺️ my mother used to say...want to see if a woman is beautiful or not...look after she just wakes up
Hello hi welcome (my) short sentence.when you order roti canai pls ask less oil..!!cause roti canai use a lot oil not good for health..if restaurant or road side hawker is busy you won't get less oil..btw for me less oil is best taste

usually the best choice for the roti canai tell them "potont-potong kuah banjir"
Not everyone prefer that. You're not gonna taste the original roti taste.

I am so scared for you that you could accidentally splash some of the sauce on your cloth 😅
Thank god for saying Roti canai instead of saying Roti kanai, and also beautiful pronunciation of teh tarik.
Google was truthful this time 😂
