This scene was my favorite part of the whole movie, seeing the aliens do more than just kill and do a social interaction with things from there world is an interesting thing to use for the movie
Nice little detail I notice is that the thing can actually hear the heartbeat of the dude but it’s also drowned out by the crackling noises of the fire. Really cool
To explain (what I think) why the bigger death angel didn’t kill him was because of other sounds it was also hearing. For example, you can hear his heart beating but following that was the noises of falling construction in the back and other random things. Personally it makes sense, and another is the cat. Frodo is making smaller noises than everything else. For example the scene where everyone is walking and eventually start screaming and running, everything else is being louder then Frodo.
Another thing that I haven't seen anyone comment, that add to your statement is that the Big Death Angel is old. Capital O Old. Its back plates look craggy as hell, its face plates look like gnarled bark, rather than the relatively sleek texture the DAs in the other movies had. And the most damning, is that compared to the inner ears that the DAs showed in the prevous movies, that one DA's inner ear looked *nasty*. The others had smooth membranes, the big one looked like it was covered in grime. Couple with the ambient sounds, the Old DA probably couldn't even hear Eric's heartbeat, nevermind distinguish it from the sorrounding racket.

Quiet Place is a series you have to turn your brain off just to enjoy... Because from it's premise alone (incredibly sound sensitive, blind aliens a random mother and her daughter were able to discover the weaknesses of while the worlds leading militaries and minds...somehow couldn't... right...), it just doesn't work the moment you start thinking about it

But movies like this show that, yeah the military is pretty dumb. Took them a few hours to figure out these things hunt with sound, but didnt think to weaponise soundwaves? Also these things cant swim, so why not lure them all onto barges with sound and them sink them in the middle of the ocean? This is a franchise that suffers the more you add to it. Really, it should have been a stand alone. Or they should have put more thought into the concept. Also, that freaking cat should've died. Don't care what anyone says. That cats a liability.

Until “day one” I thought that they might be a bit like Kryptonians from DC. Whatever little lore we have on the Death Angels states that they evolved on a world completely devoid of any light, so their clearly carnivorous teeth aside, I theorized that “at home” they may have gotten some of their energy from sources of heat (geothermal, seasonal change, fires and so on). On Earth, exposure to direct sunlight would dial up their stats to the maximum, hence the absurd strength, speed, and apparently limitless stamina. Accompanying that is a hellish existence of perpetual hunger (they are unable to consume anything here) without actual death from starvation (sunlight providing adequate nourishment), explaining the violent rage against anything that is considered a potential food source. “Day One” proved 3 things: Death Angels have a hierarchy, they do eat (not what they kill) although it is unclear how much they actually need, and they do drown in deep water (until the film I thought they simply sank and were doomed to wonder around on the bottom, disoriented). Otherwise, some of my previous theories might still be proven true.

I think this scene is going to be essential for Part III. The family from Parts I & II is on the island and they imply Joe Quinn's character also goes there, so at some point in the next movie they'll need this information and Quinn will be the one delivering it. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if his character saved the family, which would make Lupita Nyongo's sacrifice in this movie even more meaningful.
Im not sure if the people in the island of part 2 are all the survivors on the ferry in this film. Simons charecters mentions that those people dont know about the danger, which explains why were running and screaming when the one mosnter attacked. I think Simon made his way to the Island solo or with a much smaller group of actual encounter survivors
Also just to add, they already have a way to defeat the death angels, just need military help to broadcast those frequencies globally. But its so interesting how two seperate groups of people figured out a 'weakness' but not actual governments and militaries !
If you watch closely when the death angel opened up its head to reveal its ear drum the ear drum was vibrating in time with his heart beat. So it heard his heart beat but maybe didn't realize what it was hearing due to all the other noise in the lair.
Plus the death angels may not be to used to hearing a human heart beating… it may sound odd to them, but they may not know exactly what it is or anything. They are on a new and unfamiliar planet to them. They have to adapt to the noises and stuff there

dude i love the heartbeat sounds, the quiet place movies were the only few movies that could make me tear up, get worried for the characters, and actually get on the edge of my seat. By far one of the best most amazing movies.
You can hear the other noises when it opens its face. Not only does it hear his heartbeat but you can make out what sounds like pipes and muffled clanging. It probably couldn’t tell what it was hearing and dismissed it as ambience
So these creatures have crazy hearing capabilities so much so that slight noises make them move and go to where they hear the noise. Yet all the noise they make when they move and the damage they cause doesn’t stop them from hearing the other noises that are no where near as loud.
Common thinking. These creatures have been alive for who knows how long, and I'm more than sure they've atleast adapted to distinguising sounds that THEY make and cause versus other sounds that they may be able to print as a threat or food. You and I can distinguish sounds that WE recognize from sounds that we don't know, same thing should be there for the Death Angels. For being blind, they must've atleast developed some sense of intelligence to have this sort of thinking of distinguising sounds from each other even in chaotic scenarios
It's really interesting to see that these creatures are more than just monsters. They interact with each other and cultivate their food. But I have a question about their fine hearing. How fine is it? The slightest sound attracts the aliens within a radius of, say, 500 metres. But if the queen is standing right next to the guy, she can't hear his breathing or heartbeat, let alone the cat?! Can someone please explain this to me. :D
Plot armor? Idk, i feel like only having super hearing is detrimental, i mean at least give these things a sense of smell to make them at little more realistic.

It's noted they also were hearing the background sounds of metal bending, stuff falling, and flames not meters from them. Put it simply, they may have heart their breathing and heartbeat, but it may have assumed it to be apart of the background noise and thus not living prey. It didn't know what it was hearing, basically.
I like that they added this. I was super confused in the first few movies as they didn’t seem to intend on eating people, just killing them for making sound. So this makes sense.

Their food source from their planet, tho i wont go into detail think of it like a fig of sorts a giant ground fig that the death angels or the aliens in the movie eat, the director of the movie stated the death angels to be like “leaf cutter ants” collecting fertiliser to grow their food their food being the fig like alien plant, and the fertiliser being us meat bags filled with nutrients for farming.
I like how the way this scene is shot doesn’t make it clear how much bigger this Death Angel is compared to the others until it gets close to Eric. Makes for an effective understated shock

That was one big Alien, almost the size of a Monster Truck and looked a lot rougher than the smaller ones. While smaller Death Angels are out there terrorizing and killing everybody, the Bigger Alpha ones stay in there Nesting grounds to protect either their eggs or their home planet food source.
This was a great movie but I kinda hoped there’d be more chaos. While I love the silence in the first two I felt like this one should be more panicked since no one knows they’re blind yet.
two ideas: 1) that is a potential secondary species, as its features are more rounded and bumpy. its shoulders especially drew my attention, and it has elbow spikes. 2) that big one is potentially much older than the rest; its facial plates look… loose? they are more ridged and dont collapse tightly to the face. that could also explain why the big one is bumpier
This scene is very interesting because of three things. One we finally see that they do have a sort of food source in the form of that growth from their crash sights. Two they seem to group around their crash sights as a place to sleep or a form of nest. And three we see that they can become crazy big with that one being much bigger then a human I mean that guy is around the size of it's head. I'm curious if that is a fully grown death angel or a specific variant.

Training, lots of training Cats don’t inherently wish to please humans, unlike dogs, but they DO have their own desires, often food, which can be used to train them. As long as you can figure out what they want, they can be really smart
Though I love these films, the creatures' aggression towards sounds make no fkn sense at all. They jump and land extremely loud and those sounds don't hurt or bother them, they screech and bark stupidly loud and it doesn't bother them either, they stomp and clank and still it doesn't hurt nor bother them. This ultimately makes their premise to be very stupid.
According to the first and second movie, the only sound that really stuns/bothers the death angels is a SPECIFIC (The frequency can't be too far off, meaning it won't work if it's too high or too low) frequency that's only created by the hearing aid made by lee. Also they can differentiate noises made by their own kind, because they already familiarized themselves with those barks on their home planet before it exploded.
@@aidenrodriguez-wb8ky I get that, but again it makes no sense. Think about it, the loud thuds, clanks and the such that they make are even louder or as loud as some people make. I mean, look into it in this very vid, when the guy clicks the metal, the closest big creature automatically scans the sound as a potential threat. But anything louder as we've seen, drives them to attack, and their landings and stumps are very loud, which has nothing to do with their frequency of natural calls.

As much as I like these movies, the concept of the death angels are so inconsistent. These monsters should be able to hear your heartbeat, but they don’t. Their armor is also a fluke. If their flesh is exposed, it’s a weak spot, but entering the earth’s atmosphere should’ve killed these things, the atmospheric entry would still reach their flesh beyond their armor.

“Day One” proved 3 things: Death Angels have a hierarchy, they do eat (not what they kill) although it is unclear how much they actually need, and they do drown in deep water (until the film I thought they simply sank and were doomed to wonder around on the bottom, disoriented). I think this scene is going to be essential for Part III. The family from Parts I & II is on the island and they imply Joe Quinn's character also goes there, so at some point in the next movie they'll need this information and Quinn will be the one delivering it. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if his character saved the family, which would make Lupita Nyongo's sacrifice in this movie even more meaningful.
Im not sure if the people in the island of part 2 are all the survivors on the ferry in this film. Simons charecters mentions that those people dont know about the danger, which explains why were running and screaming when the one mosnter attacked. I think Simon made his way to the Island solo or with a much smaller group of actual encounter survivors
Also just to add, they already have a way to defeat the death angels, just need military help to broadcast those frequencies globally. But its so interesting how two seperate groups of people figured out a 'weakness' but not actual governments and militaries !

If you watch closely when the death angel opened up its head to reveal its ear drum the ear drum was vibrating in time with his heart beat. So it heard his heart beat but maybe didn't realize what it was hearing due to all the other noise in the lair.
Plus the death angels may not be to used to hearing a human heart beating… it may sound odd to them, but they may not know exactly what it is or anything. They are on a new and unfamiliar planet to them. They have to adapt to the noises and stuff there

dude i love the heartbeat sounds, the quiet place movies were the only few movies that could make me tear up, get worried for the characters, and actually get on the edge of my seat. By far one of the best most amazing movies.

So these creatures have crazy hearing capabilities so much so that slight noises make them move and go to where they hear the noise. Yet all the noise they make when they move and the damage they cause doesn’t stop them from hearing the other noises that are no where near as loud.

Common thinking. These creatures have been alive for who knows how long, and I'm more than sure they've atleast adapted to distinguising sounds that THEY make and cause versus other sounds that they may be able to print as a threat or food. You and I can distinguish sounds that WE recognize from sounds that we don't know, same thing should be there for the Death Angels. For being blind, they must've atleast developed some sense of intelligence to have this sort of thinking of distinguising sounds from each other even in chaotic scenarios

It's really interesting to see that these creatures are more than just monsters. They interact with each other and cultivate their food. But I have a question about their fine hearing. How fine is it? The slightest sound attracts the aliens within a radius of, say, 500 metres. But if the queen is standing right next to the guy, she can't hear his breathing or heartbeat, let alone the cat?! Can someone please explain this to me. :D

@@maira_darwin My guess is, the sound of heartbeats/low breathing were unfamiliar to them. It's noted they also were hearing the background sounds of metal bending, stuff falling, and flames not meters from them.
Put it simply, they may have heart their breathing and heartbeat, but it may have assumed it to be apart of the background noise and thus not living prey. It didn't know what it was hearing, basically.
I like that they added this. I was super confused in the first few movies as they didn’t seem to intend on eating people, just killing them for making sound. So this makes sense.

That was one big Alien, almost the size of a Monster Truck and looked a lot rougher than the smaller ones.
While smaller Death Angels are out there terrorizing and killing everybody, the Bigger Alpha ones stay in there Nesting grounds to protect either their eggs or their home planet food source.

This was a great movie but I kinda hoped there’d be more chaos. While I love the silence in the first two I felt like this one should be more panicked since no one knows they’re blind yet.
two ideas: 1) that is a potential secondary species, as its features are more rounded and bumpy. its shoulders especially drew my attention, and it has elbow spikes. 2) that big one is potentially much older than the rest; its facial plates look… loose? they are more ridged and dont collapse tightly to the face. that could also explain why the big one is bumpier

This scene is very interesting because of three things. One we finally see that they do have a sort of food source in the form of that growth from their crash sights. Two they seem to group around their crash sights as a place to sleep or a form of nest. And three we see that they can become crazy big with that one being much bigger then a human I mean that guy is around the size of it's head. I'm curious if that is a fully grown death angel or a specific variant.

Though I love these films, the creatures' aggression towards sounds make no fkn sense at all. They jump and land extremely loud and those sounds don't hurt or bother them, they screech and bark stupidly loud and it doesn't bother them either, they stomp and clank and still it doesn't hurt nor bother them. This ultimately makes their premise to be very stupid.
According to the first and second movie, the only sound that really stuns/bothers the death angels is a SPECIFIC (The frequency can't be too far off, meaning it won't work if it's too high or too low) frequency that's only created by the hearing aid made by lee. Also they can differentiate noises made by their own kind, because they already familiarized themselves with those barks on their home planet before it exploded.
@@aidenrodriguez-wb8ky I get that, but again it makes no sense. Think about it, the loud thuds, clanks and the such that they make are even louder or as loud as some people make. I mean, look into it in this very vid, when the guy clicks the metal, the closest big creature automatically scans the sound as a potential threat. But anything louder as we've seen, drives them to attack, and their landings and stumps are very loud, which has nothing to do with their frequency of natural calls.

As much as I like these movies, the concept of the death angels are so inconsistent. These monsters should be able to hear your heartbeat, but they don’t. Their armor is also a fluke. If their flesh is exposed, it’s a weak spot, but entering the earth’s atmosphere should’ve killed these things, the atmospheric entry would still reach their flesh beyond their armor.
@@EternalRoman My reasoning for that was always a species that likely operates off of sound has adapted to perfectly understand the sounds of their kin, so a social species would understand which sounds come from their own and which come from a potential threat/food source
