She also believed that her time was worth the price paid, and although that meant that any concert that she gave was priced out of the general public's range- I believe the tickets ran about $5,000 and up- she knew her time was worth it, her stage fright was worth it. Good for her. Her Malibu estate is stunning, I would die to have a barn, duck pond and paddle wheel...... Also, thank you for your calm reactions. there are reactors on here whom are around your age who react to artists that I very much would like to see, but for some reason think that squealing and screaming like they are 8 year old little girls is a good look. It does get them views, I suppose, but it looks stupid on 25-35 year old women, and I am noise sensitive, so I can't watch it.

What has always amazed me about Barbra's singing, aside from being able to understand every single word she sings, is how she never quits on a note or a word... pronouncing each poetically yet naturally and without sounding exaggerated. She caresses every letter as if the last one is just as important as the first. And oh how she uses the Rs like they're on air or a light fluffy cloud. I just have never heard anyone articulate with such depth, purpose and passion. She makes you 'feel' the lyrics, not just 'hear' them. She's simply the GOAT!

To me this video represents Barbra singing Somewhere there's a place for us to all the people's of the earth throughout time that have been the victims of racism, war, genocide and had their lives cut short. The audience members represent this and at the end when she turns around they are gone because they are dead and you see their souls, those lights which to me represent souls, going to that place she sings about beyond time and space - Heaven or Nirvana - where they will be at peace and live in love and joy forever. I love how you love the sun. I miss it on my face. When the pandemic hit, suddenly my health failed and I was rendered disabled. In the matter of three months, I lost the ability to walk and my life mostly ended. I was 48. I was about to become a content creator myself. I do soles myself with my music and my art (I have been an artist all my life). In May 2021, one day I awoke and the feeling in my hands had left me and hasn’t returned. I’m still learning to write again and my art is gone. No family, friends deserted me, no wife, no kids - just me and for now, the music. There are a couple of things that really make this song extra special. Number 1 is without changing a single lyric Streisand has transformed what would be considered a somewhat sad and melancholic song into a dramatic anthem of hope and devine persistence. I'd go as far as saying she sings and delivers it more as a universal prayer to unite the World. Streisand accomplishes this without changing a single word or phrasing of Steven Sondeim's lyric, rather, she takes us on a journey as if it were a 3 act play, utilizing her finely skilled interpretation and her ability and understanding of how to utilize her unprecedented vocal abilities that creates this universal message of hope. The 2nd most beloved component of Somewhere is that Streisand agreed to film a music video to accompany this last track on her 1986 Broadway album and chose Academy Award winning film director, William Friedkin, to direct the Somewhere video. Yes this song was made for Barbra Joan Striesand's voice. Her intonation and vocals are so good, she is telling us a story, reading to us, through the power of her voice. Although a much softer voice, Karen Carpenter's pure angelic voice got you to hear every word, every note, every syllable. Barbra does the same thing, but with more powerful vocals. Yes this song was made for Barbra Joan Striesand's voice. Her intonation and vocals are so good, she is telling us a story, reading to us, through the power of her voice. Although a much softer voice, Karen Carpenter's pure angelic voice got you to hear every word, every note, every syllable. Barbra does the same thing, but with more powerful vocals. Great song tailor made for her.
