great video! I was out in the woods on Saturday for about 12 hours. Was nice and sunny about 5 degrees celcius (Canada). Just had me cheap poulan pro saw 50cc, my brother had an old Husqvarna, like old! its a beast. Cutting up trees that had been blown over, and the sections o trees that the loggers didn't want to take when they logged in the fall. awesome day, worst part was walking the rounds out to the arm field because we couldn't drive into the woods very far with out scratching the shit out of the trucks haha! think we cut about 2 full cords or so. now we gotta spit it, stay safe see you tomorrow!
Your idea of putting the divider in your trailer is perfect put some latches on top so you can lock it down then you can tilt your trailer and the back half will fall out for your first load and take out your divider and dump the rest for the second load
Loggers here deliver a load and stack it up higher than you would think possible, never seen it so spread out. We buck right on the pile with less handling the wood preventing ground strikes by saw as it is mostly off the ground, and the pieces just roll off out of the way. I guess it doesn't matter as you have lots of space to do so. The logs look like they been cut for a while now. Have fun playing in the pile.

Use some angle iron to create the slot for larger pallet. Bolt on the angle iron on the wood section and when you do a large amount of wood then you can just quickly unbolt the iron and no blockage of the dumps. And yet you still have the option of splitting up the trailer for 2 different loads and still able to dump twice, especially if you use the largest pallet option.

Stan, I don't have much time to watch anything, but when I do it's either firewood channels and deer hunting channels. Killinger, Sawing with sandy, Eastonmade, Hometown, Back 40, Daniel Atkins, BCnewfie, Ohio woodburner, Whackinaxes, Nelson ridge farm, Outside in Michigan, Saw surgeon, Kelleys country life, Outside with Scheib, Senior firewood hound Larry, there are more but I can't think of them now. I much prefer the smaller channels because you get to know them better and if you ask a question it will usually get answered.
Sandro, I watch on my computer as I am working. For long videos like this one, I simply click on the playback speed and set it at 2 times... turns it back to a half hour, just have to keep skipping through the advertising, but makes my spread sheet work go faster. :-) and keeps me sane so I can get back outdoors as soon as my paying job is over.
Hey Robert, I just realized if you look at the bottom right of the viewing box on youtube there is a ( cc ) click on that and closed captioning is turned on then!!
I enjoyed the longer form of video although I will have to admit I sped the truck unloading p to 2x speed. John was flying. That lower load will be much safer to cut.
Morning David, thanks for the help on it the other day. I fixed the handle and now it's better than new! Yes, within a couple days I started waking on it!
So in your country are your cords of wood stacked like bricks? The customer gets a cord of solid wood ? Here its tossed so there are more gaps in a load.
Yes, when I deliver it it is usually just tossed in the trailer loose. But that is because it was in a measured stack. But sometimes I stack it in the trailer to get more in the load. Thanks for watching from the other side of the rock!
Fess up, you actually have 64 cord of logs in the woodyard now and you're trying to figure out how to fit in one more load! I only got about 1 and 2/3rds trailers of wood; I's trying for two and I think I was still cutting wood but all I seen was an occasional spark so I called it.
Actually, I would like to fit in another 4-5 loads! Ha! Ya, I have been cutting lots of times at the end of the day and started seeing sparks, that's God telling you to QUIT!!!
Would this work: lay a tarp down across the whole trailer. Stuff in the first cord or amount. Fold the tarp up and over the first cord, then load in however much. You can stuff the whole trailer tight and you'd never mix the orders up, no matter how big of a bump you drive over.
Hate to point out the obvious but if you're going to use brackets to slot the braces of the divider, (like a kid's wagon) put the brackets on the outside of the trailer and have a u shape at the top of the divider to slide in to them...
When you get a load like that how’s it figured so you can pay the man? Weight, BF, volume? I’m curious what you end up paying for a load. You may not want to share and if so I understand. I like seeing it done without a $50,000 processor.
Hi ..in regards to trailer divider ask someone in electrical or air con trade for a channel bracket is got slots preformed in it, cut and fit vertically it should then receive 3/4 ply cut to width and height...just a suggestion..your great worker besr wishes for 21
so here is a question how many trees does it take to make a cord? diameter and length will determine that i guess. I have about 60 acres was think about cutting and sell some wood . not sure if that can be answered
Of course it can be answered! If a tree is small, say 6"wide it will take a lot of them to make a cord.. maybe 50-60? But if a tree is big...maybe 50" wide that tree might produce 2-3 cords! The more you cut the better you get at guestimating the output of a tree. Good question Rob!
So, I’m just trying to get my head around the logistics and the finances. Is that a load that would normally be headed to the pulp mill? Can you tell me how much you pay for a load like that. We dont have any mills like that here in southern Indiana. Most firewood sellers here get their loads from landscapers and tree removal guys. What I didn’t see you do was split a big butt log chunk on the Ultra. I saw you cut them in two. Is that what you do with all your larger pieces. Although if you are using pulp size wood you may not get many big pieces. I could watch this all day long. I cut about 20 cord/yr for myself. I don’t see how you can make any money buying loads of logs.
I make MORE money buying logs, I can produce more wood faster than making dozens of trips driving loading hauling wood to equal one log truck load. But starting out, I recommend cutting free stuff to keep start up costs down.
Even know that load was a little sloppy it was low to the ground being two piles which makes more manageable as far as safety concerns while cutting if it was 10ft higher and sloppy id be more concerned about it either way its gonna be cut stay safe enjoy the videos everyday
Yes, I guess you could say that, I don't and never have smoked or chewed, drink very little, love to work and be outside, am not into chasing shiny objects (fancy trucks and big boy toys) I only buy what I NEED not want, have been self employed for 31 years and I have been married for 36 year to the same woman and I don't borrow money! I don't watch sports or TV, I guess I'm boring!
@@InTheWoodyard excellent sir! I'm sure you'll keep up the great work. I watch another channel where the firewood does nothing but feed the vices. Alcohol, fast food, gambling, and whatever else and has no clue why all of the equipment is ready for the scrap yard. You're on the right track
Not really that difficult to set up your trailer to split loads. Screw a few 2x4's to the boards used to extend the heigh of the trailer. Go from the top of the extension boards all the way down to the bed of the trailer. You can just drop in plywood into the slots created by the 2x4's and you can actually dump each load separately. There is no need to secure the dividers down low, your only using it to keep the loads separate.
That is a very good question Paul and I have an answer! What makes my channel different than a lot of the others is that I actually do work in a real working firewood business, I started with a chainsaw and a splitting maul. The first year I sold 40 face cords or 1/3 cords and last year was my 6th year selling wood and I sold almost 600 face cords or 200 full cords. I'm not just a pretender or poser like a lot of the people on youtube. I have nothing to hide and I will show you everything I can every day. I love working outside and cutting firewood probably like you and I will share the stories that happen here every day ... In The Woodyard!

You need a tractor !!!!nice load of wood
You got that right! Soon! Thanks for watching Conor!
No shade trees in the wood yard 😫😮
I have a 10x10 pop up shelter for the sun now!
That much wood would probably take me 3 months to cut and split.
Eating an elephant is possible, one bite at a time!
@@InTheWoodyard, goal is still to have 50 cords stacked and drying by end of summer!
i like cutting firewood im thinking of geting in contact with tree arborist and geting free wood
That is a good idea!
Too bad your not closer I would split it for you while your cutting LOL
Drive on over! HA!
Even know that load was a little sloppy it was low to the ground being two piles which makes more manageable as far as safety concerns while cutting if it was 10ft higher and sloppy id be more concerned about it either way its gonna be cut stay safe enjoy the videos everyday
Great point, I never want piles over 6-7 feet high. And yes, I already have it cut up! You'll see it soon! Thanks for watching Bobby!
seprate wood with sheet ply wood
I could!
You strike me as a man that has his vices under control.
It's tough to grow a business and feed the monkey
I can agree with that Tom..
@@tombryan720 What channel so I can see that train wreck ...lol
16 is brisk. I don't like anything below about 16C
It's been a very warm winter so far, last year we had a couple of weeks with -15 to -25 actual temps with wind too!
There is no need to secure the dividers down low, your only using it to keep the loads separate.
yup, that would work, I sold that trailer, got a new one...a N&N GALVANIZED!!!
Curtis Harlan
Good to see you here Curtis!
Oooly
What is Oooly? I assume good or bad? Thanks for watching Jim!
@@InTheWoodyard 👍 holy sh!t, overwhelming. The length of vidjas, amount of logs and the amount of work ahead of you without larger machinery.
I like your content but if you don't answer ?? why would i watch you??????
That is a very good question Paul and I have an answer! What makes my channel different than a lot of the others is that I actually do work in a real working firewood business, I started with a chainsaw and a splitting maul. The first year I sold 40 face cords or 1/3 cords and last year was my 6th year selling wood and I sold almost 600 face cords or 200 full cords. I'm not just a pretender or poser like a lot of the people on youtube. I have nothing to hide and I will show you everything I can every day. I love working outside and cutting firewood probably like you and I will share the stories that happen here every day ... In The Woodyard!
@@InTheWoodyard I was just trying to get an idea of what material costs in different parts of the country simple as that.I have asked this simple ?? to other's alway's and they respond with a simple answer. That's all.
Un subbed when I saw the stump.
OK!
