How to set an Apple iPhone to default to speakerphone when making or receiving calls

By default all calls made to or from the iPhone will play through the ear speaker at the top of the device. However, if you prefer not to hold your phone to your ear, you can set an iPhone to default to using Speakerphone mode when making or receiving a call.

I did this for years, but now I have a vehicle that does carplay and when the phone is plugged in, it will not use the truck audio for the iphone. Instead it keeps coming through the iphone. Is there a way to tell it to ignore the speaker switch on the phone when you are attached to carplay

Because of work I connected my iPhone to my pc via phone link. This makes it way easier to copy my contact number and call from the computer. Only problem is that when I don’t have my headset, my phone changes the audio output/input to my pc and I would like it to stay through my iPhone. Any suggestions?

Hi you have like me where it says audio and then i get a drop down to pick speaker how do i change to having speaker on instead or the audio ? also my call audio routing is set to automatic. Thanks

If you use Automatic your iPhone will route your calls through the ear speaker in the top of the handset. However, if you select Speaker, the audio will be on the loud speaks. Hope that helps.

Are iPhone 14 ''calls'' loud enough on Speakerphone?
Not one store has phones enabled to make calls, so no way to test. All you can do is listen to selected songs or Utube videos & the sound is not that loud. I have some hearing loss (from loud music in my rock-N-roll years) and dread the thought of losing my landline speakerphone, but cant afford a landline and smartphone.
Prefer not to wear Ear Buds or anything in the ears.
The stores already told me that once I buy a phone, even if I don't leave the store, there will be a restocking fee anywhere from $30.00 to $50.00. Ridiculous.
I'm planning of buying an unlocked iPhone 14 during Black Friday if somebody has a good deal that does not involve a year or two of ''credits.''
Maybe Best Buy? I have read to look for $50.00 off regular price. Not much of a discount, but anything helps. I bought a Macbook Air on Labor Day w/$200 off regular price.
