Many years ago, Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton had a baby. That baby grew up and went on a Scuba Diving trip with instructor JJ Cale. There she hooked up with another deep sea enthusiast named John Mayer. Nine months later, this song was born, with the help of delivering physician Don Was and nurse Paul Reed Smith.
And they lived happily ever after next to the ocean.

    LYRICS:
    "Wild Blue"
    Never seen the sun before
    Lying on the ocean floor
    I'm walking through the wilderness
    And living off the loneliness
Oh wild blue, deeper than I ever knew
Wild blue on a bed of grey
Oh baby, what a wild blue
I found myself when I lost you
    (Yeah, yeah, girl)
All the tears I meant to cry
    Dance across the evening sky
And in my sorrow I can see
That missing you belongs to me
Oh wild blue, deeper than I ever knew
Wild blue on a bed of grey
Oh baby, what a wild blue
I found myself when I lost you
Wild blue, deeper than I ever knew
It's a wild blue since you went away
Oh baby, what a wild blue

John Mayer is the MOST VERSATILE ARTIST in the history of music. There is no other musician or artist out there who can win Grammies, do features with the likes of Frank Ocean, play with BB King on stage and then belt out a solo in Wild Blue that takes you back to the fucking 80s. This man is one of a kind. And we must protect him at all costs.

@@tawsifakkas Hmm, good question. I think they cover a lot of different genres in each album. All is pretty related to rock - Surf, Punk, Garage, Psych (which are kinda similar) but then they go in Metal, Blues, shuffles, krautrock and every so often, electronic and doom-metally. Their latest album is very very synth heavy. On top of this they use a billion different time signatures. Combine all this stuff and you get some hugely varied music.

    • @tawsifakkas
      @tawsifakkas 3 роки тому +3

@@TC-lk2ev I think a lot of bands do shift around various genres within their own parameters - which is brilliant of course. Where JM stands out for me is not just versatility in terms of his own music (Born and Raised vs. Continuum vs. Sob Rock all have different sounds) but also how he manages to work with artists from completely different backgrounds and still manage to make it work. Common, Khalid, Travis Scott, Grateful Dead, Tony Bennett - it's insane.

I’m addicted to this song! First song I have put on repeat to play while I sleep. I’m starting my seventh decade of life, the comments made caused me to listen to Knopfler loved it but after. Hearing both I wanted to hear Bob Dylan like a rolling stone live. I played that on vinyl repeatedly in 1965. I had no idea John Mayer performed like a rolling stone live for Howard Stern . Musicians am I on to any thing here? Maybe that kicky back beat is substituted for the harmonica. LoL It certainly brought out the subtle dance moves from John Mayer’s Tic tok performance. For.covers of music of performers covering Dylan back in the day it was all listening and no dancing. We all stood in large crowds some with scarfs high around their necks and Dylan hair.

We all have had challenging years. This great song was written by André Martins. Also, for another unknown reason, possibly surgery, André Martins is doing a voice over of the entire album songs which he wrote. John is totally cool with the guitar work reaching great heights of smooth melodic riffs and licks of masterful perfection. Keep an eye out to see how the dynamics of this collaboration play out. It could go either way, very messy or like John´s licks and André´s voice, as smooth as silk.
