  • There are many ways to create boundaries for a crop/spray field. Some use mapping drones. Some fly the boundary with their t40 or t50 which also works. I would rather not fly the boundary with the t40 because the less I fly this drone the better. I would rather fly it with my Matrice 30t due to its flight speed, maneuverability, and battery life. IN this video I show you how to take the flight data from airdata.com, download a KML file and convert the flight path of the drone into a shape file that can then be imported into smartfarm as a field. Other than the flight time it should only take 5 minutes. You will need a micro SD card, QGIS software, and a subscription to airdata.com.
    Here is the URL for the optional Google Maps layer I discuss in the video: mt0.google.com/...{x}&y={y}&z={z}
    If anyone know how to minimize all the points along the boundary route prior to importing it into SmartFarm please let me know. Also if there is a way to get a KML file from your flightdata without needing airdata.com I am also all ears.
